Whatever happened to Tony Lomas-- Exeter Rider in the Halcyon League Champ
days --when he retired from Speedway. I believe he went selling Tyres or
something.

Anyone know where "the man in black" got to?

I remember he was the Long Eaton No.1 when LE started up again - as the
Rangers - in 1969, before going on to Coventry (I think he was the
Coventry No.8 on loan to LE in '69). I've got the first Rangers
programme somewhere - v Ipswich, complete with John Louis!

No idea where he is now though, which is probably what you're more
interested in, huh?

I last saw Tony Lomas at a grasstrack meeting about 9 years ago. He had
returned to grasstrack and was riding here in Warwickshire (where he used to
live). He was in his late 40's/early 50's then I think.

Tony Lomas is now nurturing his 2 grandson's love of motorbikes, currently guiding them through the Trials world in North Yorkshire where he retired too.The youngest grandson has a real love of speed too, and his riding style resembles that of his famous Grampy! He still goes occasionally to Sheffield and Newcastle.

He now lives in Reeth and plays golf at Catterick; a great chap!
