It can't be doing their image any good, I remember back in the '80s when
a set of Goodyears could last the whole race!

I hear Michelin are waiting in the wings, I hope they take over as tyre
supplier next season.

They're doing exactly what they were asked to do by the FIA - to
paraphrase, "make tyres that are interesting!".

I hope that they have more than one supplier. And the regulations
include a price-per-tyre, and a requirment to supply any team at
that price.

OTOH, perhaps the OOP has an eye on the cull going on in uk.*
Nothing to worry about, half of the posters here in the past couple of
years have also posted in unnc in that time (some voluminously...),
so usmf1 can limp on.


But back to the original question:

I'd have thought that Pirelli would have known that a sole-provider
contractor with F1 is a poisoned chalice?

Could Englebert come back to contest with Continental perhaps? And then
Dunlop can re-introduce the R5!
