Hi,

Apologies to all those who hate spam. We've seen a lot of informative
messages like this one on this group so we think it's tolerated.

We are bringing to your attention the launch of StrokeSaver Online at
http://www.strokesaver.com.
It combines an electronic library of StrokeSaver's unique distance
guides (350 courses worldwide already published) and a worldwide golf
guide currently in it's prototype stage. Access to our resources is
free.

We invite you to come and have a look and give us feedback to help us
produce the most informative worlwide golf guide on the net if you have
a moment.

TIA

William

I think bringing to our attention within this NG, a website of direct
interest to subscribers is quite legitimate.
You say access is free - but its not freely available. I always hesitate
when I am asked to register on a website.
Why is this sort of thing necessary? What will happen if I register? Will I
be plagued with more unsolicited e-mails?

Thanks for your comment and for raising the points below.

>>Why is this sort of thing necessary?

It let's us know you exist and who you are in a way that traffic anyalysers
can't.

We do need that to produce a good site:
For example we are keen promote golf travel. Knowing where you live and where
you are keen to go to will tell us how to prioritise the building of our guide
content including review of hotels and restaurants, local attractions, etc.
The process is very costly if you are looking for high quality content. Having
better visitor information helps us better target it.

>>What will happen if I register?

Nothing. We might get in touch to inform you of important changes to our site or
when we launch the guide in September. These mails will not be promotional and
will not occur more than once a year if ever.

>>Will I be plagued with more unsolicited e-mails?

A definite NO. This IMO is corporate suicide. As a user myself I hate this sort
of thing. We are not even sure we will do opt-in mailings as most people quickly
grow tired of them anyway and it ends up giving mailers a bad name.

I hope this answers your questions and that you are satisifed with our approach.

William,

Your site is useful and well above average. Personally, I wouldn't mind you
sending me a few "update" type emails now and again.

Good Luck

Martin
