Easy victory 4-1 for Liverpool over a rather pathetic Norwegian side.
As much as 10 substitutions for Liverpool proves how serious this match
became in the end.
Liverpool dominated the last 75 minutes of the game and could have won
by more goals if they had desired to do so.
The midfield looked particularily good as Hamann, Redknapp, Berger,
Smicer, Murphy, Thompson, Gerrard and Leonhardsen all played rather
well.
Thompson and Smicer played very well indeed leaving Vålerenga defenders
to look slow.
Liverpool are going places this year!

Beware a good pre-season...it usually means shitty proper season

How DO you do that BTW?
Simon Wilkinson (easily impressed)
Except ... we used to go and beat meaningless Scandinavian teams every
year in the 80s ... or were they to be considered shitty proper seasons?
:-P

As long as ManU have a shit season as well as Liverpool (seen as
they've had a good pre-season too...) that's OK by me.

Well, he probably has a scandinavian keyboard with the extra
characters, but you can do it by holding down ALT and typing 0229 on
the numberpad. You can find out the codes by running charmap from the
run box.
Suits me Simon - we were crap against Hull, Scarborough and Forest -
whereas, IIRC Leeds did really well against some two-bob outfit from just
down the A62. Could be very interesting then for you guys, especially if
Jimmy buggers off to Atletico Madrid.
CTID,
Tez.

Take out the "rubbish" and put in "lineone" instead. Thanks.
Okay then Tom what's the code for an E with a diaeresis on it? I just
posted something (in Dutch) to be.sport.football, and it'll look a bit rum
if I can't use a character that the Flems use in their spelling of their
country.

Alt+0203 for the capital or the lowercase is alt+0235.
Thompson played well? hmm I must have seen a diff game then
My idea of a good winger is 1 that runs like hell down to the shortline and
passes the ball infront of the goal.
Thompson ran like hell yeah, but didn't go for the shortline. In my oppinion
he slowed down the game pretty much by stoppin and trying to go in to the
middle instead
