when Pompey visited the saints (twice) there was absolutely no fan trouble
before, during and after the game, other than the normal footy goading.

Pompey fans have disgraced themselves and taken football back to the 70/80s
violence.

this is not needed in the Premiership or any other league for that matter.

Before the game I was hoping that they, Pompey, would remain in the Prem for
the local Derby but now I hope they go down.

That will give the supporters something to shout about.

Yup. They have shown that they are still kiddies at heart and are not
mature enough to stay in the Premiership.

I, like you, hoped they'd stay up as it'd be good to have two South
Coast teams in top flight football. Sadly, their recent performance
has changed my mind; the Premiership will be a better place without
Pompey.

Not only have the 'supporters' made themselves look like immature
Children they have made the entire City of Portsmouth look silly too!

What do these people think they are doing for Portsmouths reputation?
On one hand you have the Saints fans who are generally fair, well
behaved a credit to the City. On the other hand Pompey who run amok
like a load of badly educated Chavs.

Good riddance, Pompey!!

I wonder how much the teams performance was down to intimidation ?
Rarely have I seen such hatred, venom and hostility etched onto the
faces of those around the touchline.
Players are mere mortals at the end of the day.
After the great support Pompey got when being hammered by the Gunners,
those same supporters[1] have let themselves down badly.
Personally, I hope the FA deduct some points and they end up in the
Conference. Good riddance.

[1] A spokesman denied the 100+ fans being investigated by the police
were true Portsmouth supporters. Yeah right.......

Now you can see why no one likes playing at Galatassaray. Still, It would
have been nice if the players had used the venom to spur them on. After all
best way to shut the Pompie fans up would have been to humilate their team.
Sadly that didn't happen.

I have to say, hands up anyone that didn't expect trouble when we visited
Fratton Park?

......

.....

Nope, didn't think so. The worst thing is this is how they acted when they
won. Simply because they couldn't get to the Saints fans to jeer at them
some more or just plain assault them. So they ran around smashing up their
own city and terrifying their own locals. Nice one idiots!

To be fair that isn't representative of all Pompie fans and the club and
supporters clubs have said they will take action on anyone identified as
being involved in that. But it doesn't change the fact it was pretty much
expected. Pompie had one of the worst violence records in the 1st division
and so far been pretty quiet in the Premiership (perhaps because they were
doing badly, and they only riot when they win?), so it was just a matter of
time. These are the same mindless thugs that forced them to play fixtures
against millwall last season with away fans banned, so the club can't say
they are shocked by things errupting when their local rivals are in town.
I'd like to see all those involved banned for life (as well as prosecuted)
and if the club stopped short of that (for any reason other then not being
able to indentify them) I think they should face point deductions. The club
should certainly be fined for it anyway. There needs to be zero tollerance
on this kind of thing.
