Former Manchester United winger Lee Sharpe wants Sir Alex Ferguson to move for Tottenham star Gareth Bale.

Sharpe was asked by < i>MUTV which player he would most like to sign for United.

"Gareth Bale," he replied. "I would buy Bale. I think he’s slowly turning into the next Cristiano Ronaldo. I’m not quite sure if he’s got the footwork and trickery but he has pace, power and, with his set-plays and finishing ability, I think he’s a phenomenal player. If we could go out and buy anybody, it would be him."

Would Bale make it at United? Should Spurs sell? Give us your shout below..

The word on the street is he wants to play for a big club with a
directorship full of ambition like Newcastle.
Well that's what the unicorn told me anyway.

Mind you, the greatest centre forward to play in the premier league, did
sign for us - so who knows, it could happen. ;-}?

Those days seem such a long time ago now.
What gets me wherever I go in this country (I travel a lot through my
own business)
I meet fellow Newcastle fans and ex Geordie pats.
We must be one of the biggest clubs in the world when it comes to fan
base. The owners business model is not cashing in on that support.
Can you imagine if we actually won something?
How big the potential profit would grow with the plastic fans that
would inevitably come and support/spend money on us?

I met Keegan a while before he became manager. When they re-opened
Valley Parade after the fire and I spoke to him on his own for about
half an hour in the Bradford city managers office.
I was waiting for the fans to disappear before I escorted him to his
car. (An old banger Datsun would you believe)
When he found out I was a Newcastle fan he said "Not another one" :)
So it must happen to everyone.
Funny enough about a quarter of an hour into the conversation Stan
Ternant (Later Bradford's assistant coach I think youth coach at the
time) walked in with his broad Geordie accent and Keegan laughed and
said "bloody hell not another one".

It cuts me what went on with Keegans first appointment.
If we had won something playing that style we would have been the
biggest club in the world, Without doubt.
Even Eyan used to love watching us. :) ( mind you I bet he still does
)
Howay the lads.

Aye, we do get around a bit, and it sounds like you've met a few characters
in your time. :-]

If Keegan had been done right by, there's no doubt we would have had some
silver ware but that wasn't to be. He made some shrewd buys without breaking
the bank, unlike today when you see some of the big money spent on average
players. Tonights game against Anji was an example. Eto'o while a good
player in his time, is on 350k/week after tax -WTF.

Anyway, it's quarter final time so lets see who we get in the next round and
then aho knows?

Eyan, Eyan who the feck is Eyan?

I was resident head of the security firm that looked after the ground
so was around a lot of the time.
The players for the club and management had a bit of banter with me
Because of a boob I made.
When the ground was first handed over back to the club after
rebuilding my orders were to not let anyone in the stadium.
At that time John Henry played for them but as a Newcastle fan didn't
have a clue who he was.
I found him in the new stadium and threw him out of the ground he had
to go around to the main entrance to be let back in again. :)
I never lived it down but the management seemed to take to me after
that.
Some of the players used to come out of the changing rooms and ask my
permission to go out on the pitch as a dig every match day.
John Henry himself became quite friendly and was probably one of the
more down to earth players.
I could tell some real stories about the club if only they were big
enough for anyone to be interested. Lol.

As for Keegan I think John Hall spent too much time listening to the
BBC pundits etc.
It was a drip drip attack about the defense week in week out.
Who cares if we let in 3 goals as long as we scored 4 which we did
most of the time.
The final straw for Keegan was when the directors brought in a
defensive coaching team above his head.
They totally undermined his authority and that's when the wheels
started to come off.
The players even started to get cocky with him on the pitch and openly
answered him back.
I even believe the corrupt FA deliberately offered him the England
coaching job knowing he would have to change his management style for
England. In an attempt to break the harmony in the club IMO.
Why didn't they target Fergie etc?
They must have known his coaching style would not have fit in a team
of players from many clubs.
It left a bad taste in my mouth the minute he accepted the post.
If only the directors had have left him to it. Things would have been
completely different.
