Lazy cvnts. That was a painfully small crowd. We're in the LAST SIXTEEN of
the UEFA Cup. There are 15,000+ people who have enough money/inclination to
go to watch us play Boro or Fulham in the Premiership, yet can't be arsed to
go and support us in the round of 16 of something we might actually win.
What message does that send out to any potential superstar signings? Or to
the rest of the Premiership?

What an utter shower of shite.

In the words of the South Stand, "if you're watching on the telly you're a
cvnt".

I thought City made a mistake by putting the ticket price up. Support was
building up nicely with each match, but the price hike reversed that. And
it's not just the ticket price, with transport and the inevitable few beers
it cost me £50 last night, I would imagine few people would spend less.
That's a lot of dosh when the match is free to everyone on TV. With Premier
League games, you get seasoncard holders who have already paid, but you
don't get that effect for UEFA cup games. I take one of my kids to Prem
games, but not to UEFA games, just to keep the cost down. Judging by the
dearth of kids there last night, I assume lots of others do the same.
There's also the issue of getting to night games for people who don't live
locally. I can leave work early, but not everyone can. And finally, I
don't think the alcohol ban helps. Who the hell are these people anyway
telling us what we can and cannot drink? We're not kids. What's so
different about UEFA cup games to all other games?

I booked my seat as soon as they went on sale and at four yesterday
afternoon was all set to go, by five i was in the bathroom with the
contents of my digestive system coming out of both ends.
Last night was only the third time i've missed a game at CoMs and the
first time my seat was empty.
It was strange watching a City home game on tv, i was mentally switching
what i was watching to match the usual view from my seat in the North
end of the East stand level 2.

At least no-one can accuse you of being full of shit, for the moment at
least...

I usually sit in the West stand, but sat in the East last night. SO MUCH
nicer not having to see that ridiculously distracting advertising board.

I noticed the pitch side advertising facing the cameras and thought how
distracting it must be.

The bars are closed under UEFA rules, there's nothing City can do about it.
Offering Seasoncard holders the two group games for £25 didn't seem to
have an effect on attendance, with 21,247 and 26,626 attending. How low
would prices have to go for stay-aways to make the choice to give up
watching the game on tv with a few cans and buy a ticket?

I meant there is no alcohol.

Why should the offer only be on to season card holders - why not have open
sales for such nights ?

Reduced kids prices - allow flags /banners etc - get some atmosphere and
genuine anticipation of a special event try to get people excited ?

There are numerous initiatives they could use .

I don't know whether it was for Citycard holders as well, but kids got
in for a fiver or less/game.
At the end of the day, when it comes to sticking your hand in your
pocket for an extra Ł15/20 on top of a seasoncard, when a game's being
shown live on free to air tv, a lot of City fans come to the decision
that the money could probably be put to more use somewhere else.

Just had a thought (it happens occasionally). I wonder how City will
allocate tickets, should we get to Istanbul. If it was done on the basis of
loyalty points to UEFA cup matches only, that would surely swell attendances
(provided of course that they broadcast the fact).
