United's Smith thanks Liverpool fans

Manchester United's Alan Smith has thanked Liverpool fans for the way they
supported him when he left the field at the weekend.
Smith broke his leg and dislocated his ankle during the match and had to be
given oxygen when he was carried off on a stretcher.

Despite the national media calling Liverpool fans "sick", Smith has spoken
via his agent to thank Kopites for the sympathetic reaction from the home
faithful.

Smith's agent Alex Black said: "He was a bit delirious coming off but he was
able to recognise that a lot of the Liverpool fans were giving him a good
round of applause.

"He just wants to say thank you to everybody for that."

The Mancs won't like that. They would rather identify the odd few mindless
fuckwits, rather than the vast majority of decent people.

Well reported Jay. I feel with many clubs there are those that are more
vocal whether via internet or at a game , who do not represent decent folk.
