His job is to play for United. They pay his wages and look after him
when he's injured.
Why play friendlies against trawlermen when you risk your fitness for
games that count?
It's a sensible policy and one which more footballers should adopt.

Yes indeed Giggs is an excellent player and has kept his place at the
top for many many years now and that takes some doing. He thoroughly
deserves this award. I heard he also beat Joe Calzlappy to win the
Wales Sports Personality as well and that Fergie was on the Welsh BBC
to present him with the award.
One has to admire Giggs for his professionalism and the example he sets
for others. Also he has not got his head stuck up his own arsehole
like many of todays players.
