Where on the BBC site is this list?

It looks like an old first round of the Gillette/NatWest.

quite so. I think its this new NCCA showcase, i think the successor to the
minor counties where each mc is paired with a fc county and plays a 1 day game
with its mc neighbour. I quote

"The Showcase Games are a fantastic opportunity for the National Counties to test themselves against the best players in the country.

With every County playing a First Class team over a 3-day period, these 50 Over fixtures will showcase not only the huge pool of talent within the National Counties, but the hundreds of people that put such huge amounts of effort into recreational cricket across the UK."

or where assorted pie throwers get a chance to embarrass the FC elite, probably mainly 2nd XIs. dunno
if there were any upsets last year, it wasnt much promoted in 2021.

I dont know what all the CCCs are doing but the match between Oxford and Sussex is at Wormsley
and free entry but you have to book a car parking space for £5. definitely worth going cos its
a beautiful ground on the Getty estate.

This is something I've not heard of before. They've set aside 31/7 for
18 one-day games between f-c and "national" counties. The Oxfordshire
site suggests this isn't the first time it's happened, but I'm blowed
if I can remember when (if it has).

It will no doubt provoke a post or two from the grubby urchin,
insisting that some bloke from Bedfordshire or Devon is a tragically
underrated player who should be playing for England as an amateur.
Since it's a pound to a penny that in most of the "f-c" sides the
majority of players will play/have played generally in the XXII, that
will be as meaningless as his other garbage.

I'm sure it's very worthy and will entertain some people in Dunstable
and Saffron Walden. (A nasty little town besieged by various of my
paternal relatives who are nowhere near as posh as they'd like to
think they are but would regard the grubby urchin as irredeemably
common. In their defence, they are some of the most frighteningly dull
people on the planet.)

Cheers,

Mike

CricketArchive lists them as Royal London One Day Cup Warm-Up Matches. It looks like they were due to be played in 2020 and 2021, but were cancelled.

As you say, like the old 1st round of the Gillette/NatWest, but without the jeopardy for the FC counties, and not List A.

Sussex played oxfordshire in 2021

Thanks. 7 matches were played.

https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/royal-london-one-day-cup-warm-up-2021-1273547/match-results

I was looking at a list of matches for Devon, and theirs was cancelled.
I assumed wrongly that all of the others were as well.

a few upsets this year; berkshire beat Middx, who recovered their honour somewhat by thrashing
herts soon after, bucks beat surrey, mainly cos these were essentially 2nd XIs and Lincoln just beat
Durham. Bedford nearly beat Northants, mainly due to Kettleburghs 192no, Derby flattened poor
shropshire, but i think their opener carried his bat for 69 out of a total 89ao. Norwell took 5-15 with 3
wkts in 4 balls to beat Cheshire; surely IF he doesnt get injured, he must be the next fast bowling option
to be tried by england. Worcs had a struggle to beat Hereford, yorks smashed 290 off 23 overs to beat
nhumberland in a rain shortened affair [ballance made 95 - wheres he been hiding i wonder?] and kent
made 431 against suffolk.

easy win for sussex but oxford were getting excited at 67-4. quite a few ladies in very short
skirts and big hats, and surprising number of ferraris and astons in the car park, not belonging
to me unfortunatly.

Maybe they should have more confrontations/interactions between the
minors and the CC clubs.
Would it be difficult to organise a similar 2 or 3 day match event?
Does that already happen? Even single innings declaration matches?
