With the Australian team announced and England getting ready to recall
Gatting and Gower to cover the injury toll, a few entrants may want to
review their teams before Thursday. Remember, the deadline is one hour
before the scheduled start of play, ie, 0900 GMT.
The original Announcement message of this competition is now reproduced
below, with ONE AMENDMENT. All unlisted players were stated to be
$100000. That still applies with the *exception* of GA Hick who will be
priced at $140000 (and is now listed accordingly).

Announcing: The rsc Ashes Fantasy League
Select a squad of 6 players from England and Australia, staying under
the salary cap, and earn points for their performances in the coming 5
Test series.
There are no restrictions on player selection, other than the salary
cap. Between matches, changes may be made to your playing squad (a
maximum of three changes) provided that the deadline will be 10:00am BST
on the first day of each Test (7pm AEST).
Squad nominations may be made any time from now on, by submission to the
Reply address shown above. That is -
Enter the Fantasy League by filling in the details below, and select
your players by *deleting* all but your selected 6 from the list below.
THE SALARY CAP is $1,000,000 and the price of each player is shown
alongside their name. Any player not listed *is* eligible for
nomination and will be priced at $100,000.
(It may be advisable to File this message in your mail archive for
future reference to the scoring system and the player list)
In each Test match, each player will earn points according to the
following scale:
Each run scored: 1 point
Each wicket taken: 15 points
Catches in the field: 10 points
Catches at the wkt: 5 points
Stumpings: 10 points
Run Out (unassisted): 10 points*
Run Out (assisted): 7 points*
Assist a run out: 3 points*
No-ball or Wide: -1 point
Each Bye conceded: -1 point
*The points awarded for a run out will be judged on
a case-by-case basis.

Actually, since I've been so busy this week, I haven't had a chance to
tidy up this thing at all - no web page yet, and only a few people have
received acknowledgements, sorry.

OK, let's see now ... anyone who thinks there is an error, please give
me a yell. I will probably allow some leeway on the selection deadline
tonight, but not unfairly (ie, no changing to Slater at the lunch break
when he is 143 not out). Quite a few people need to make at least one
change - Thorpe was a popular choice.
