...Is a strong Yorkshire necessarily a strong England?
I like Root a lot. That guy can bat for England.
On a lighter note, he may be the last England debutant whose final Test I am not alive for. I am fifty. If Root plays for England until he's 40 I don't reckon I'll see it.

Rashid has made a great start to the season, if only it hadn't been at Warwickshire's expense! :-(

You would only be in your late sixties by then. Unless you already have
some life-threatening condition - in which case my sympathies - it must
be long odds on that you're still going strong.

I'm not quite 50. Remember at primary school being asked to work out a
rough date when you might die. It felt like miles in the future I
think the year I arrived at was 2038. It's getting fuxn closer.
Then subtract 10 years for smoking for 36 years (I have quit now) and
few years for the pints galore, a year or two for the other things
that I have consumed, then a few years probably shaved off for the
crazy lifestyle during the stressed out troubles (building mortar
proof buildings and getting shot at). Lucky to be alive smile like a
fucker and carry on regardless.

Adil Rashid. Remember him?! Seems to be reinventing himself as a number 6 who can bowl a bit....

Ditto me and Pujara. If he hangs on for 15 more years at the top, I
won't be, or at least don't want to be, around that long. As they say,
it's better to go when those around you ask 'why' rather than 'why
not' ;)

Depending on how many pints you drank, you might be able to add on
years; men who consume 21-30 units of alcohol per week live longer than
those who abide by the NHS fantasy-figures. Teetotallers only live as
long as those who take in 63 units per week.

Over the years, there have also been studies showing that drinking milk
- even the full-fat stuff - reduces risk of heart disease.

Drinking coffee has been shown to prevent some liver diseases and
cancers as well as possibly reducing risk of diabetes.

I must admit that I haven't found any evidence that getting shot at is
good for your health.
