Yorkshire players have “liked” an interview with a sports scientist in which he accused the club of acting with “total brutality” in sacking him and 15 other members of staff.

Veteran opener Adam Lyth and all-rounders Matty Fisher and Jordan Thompson all clicked “like” on a Twitter post by Kunwar Bansil, who denounced Lord Patel’s response to the racism scandal to engulf the county.

Ex-England batsman Lyth liked multiple tweets about The Times interview, including one which read: “Fantastic read... Shame it’s taken so long for the truth to start to come out but better late than never.”

Lyth did so weeks after signing a contract extension, while Thompson also recently penned a new deal.

They and Fisher, who made his England debut in their Test series defeat in March, stopped short of commenting themselves on the post.

That was in contrast to England limited-overs specialist David Willey, who last month accused Yorkshire of prioritising repairing the club’s reputation at the expense of their own players’ well-being in a parting shot at the crisis-hit county.

Willey spoke out following confirmation he would return to his native Northamptonshire at the end of the season.
The Twitter likes come almost eight months after Yorksh
ire faced a player revolt over their cull of their entire coaching team.
