I know that I could write an Excel spreadsheet to handle all the maths etc.-
it'd take a little time, but would be straight forward enough......
....but before I get stuck into it, I thought I should ask to if anyone else
has already done one?, or is there any software (freeware?) that will manage
the whole process for us.
Any help, advice or thoughts appreciated, and if anyone has already put
together a working spreadsheet, I'd be keen to have a look to see how you
did it...
thanks in advance
Neil
None that I know of - you could just use http://worldxi.cricket4.com and
setup your own private league.

You might like to check out my Fantasy League Manager program which works
in conjunction with my Cricket Statistics for Windows program.
The Fantasy League Manager can produce the entry forms and league table
plus reports showing all the players' points and details of the points
scored by the players in each team for fantasy leagues of up to 100 teams.
You can avoid everyone selecting the same players for their fantasy teams
by allocating each player a value (based on their performance in previous
seasons) and defining a maximum total value for the fantasy teams.
You can define the minimum and maximum number of batsmen, bowlers, all
rounders and wicket keepers allowed in each team and, if required, you can
even define the minimum and maximum number of each type of batsmen (e.g.
opener, middle order, tailender) and bowlers (e.g. seam, spin, fast,
medium etc.).
The points awarded to players for runs, wickets, 50s, 5-wkts catches,
stumpings etc. can be defined so you can easily 'tune' the system to suit
your competition.
If required, you can apply different weightings for each type of match
(e.g. friendlies, league etc.), each team (e.g. 1st XI, 2nd XI etc.) and
each type of player (e.g. full member, colt etc.).
I'm afraid the Fantasy League Manager and Cricket Statistics for Windows
are not freeware, they cost 10 UKP and 30 UKP respectively, but the profit
from your first year's competition should easily cover this - several
clubs using the programs have made over 500 UKP profit from their
competitions!
You downloading evaluation editions of both programs, to see if they meet
your requirements, from my web site:
http://www.clubcricketsoftware.co.uk
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you require any more information.

My suggestion is this: use Grahame Giddings' Cricket Statistics for
Windows, available at:
http://www.ggiddings.freeserve.co.uk/index.htm
I've used it for years & can heartily recommend it!

Graham Giddings also has a Fantasy League Manager which I have used. Very

I think it's American football, the Superbowl.
The Superbowl sounds like a toilet disinfectant and that's
probably the best place for American football.

nice one Dave 2nd time today I have laughed till it hurt,
1st time was a near death experience while reading this ,
the kids all thought I was having a fit, the little ones that can't
read that is, they couldn't understand why I thought the picture was
so funny , Their little slighty confused smiling faces made me laugh
even more.
