Just watched day 5 highlights on ESPN Classic, fascinating to see how
it all played out, I've never seen anything other than a couple of
minutes of highlights - the interviews afterward were hilarious as
well, media training was obviously not a required part of team
England's preparations <G>

It was frightening to see Ritchie B, his face was almost an irradiated
glowing orange and his hair so silver that the reflections could blind
you!

It looks like the channel will be broadcasting the rest of the series
every day at 8pm as well - Sky channel 442.

Remember it well. The Aussies still looked good for the win. As I recall
they made 40odd for the first wicket, then another 20 or so. SO at 60(ish)
for 2 they looked a good bet. Then Willis came in with THAT display and WOW.

Ah yes I remember it well. What a series. Ive often thought that the
unsung hero in that series was Brearly and to a lesser extend Willis. Its
often referred to as Bothams Ashes (quite rightly) but its easy to forget
there were a few top class efforts on the way too. What about Dilley's 56
and Old's 29, Knotty's 70 no in the final test, Boycotts 137,
But the real winner was of course Willis with his 8 -43. What a game.

Wasn't Willis still sulking about the media criticism of England's
performances prior to Day 4 & a half? That's what we thought at the time,
anyway. Of course, those who watch Sky with any regularity may just argue
that's how he communicates at the best of times.

Cheers

David

That's right. He actually had a go at the media during the media
conference if I recall correctly.

Cheers, all

I loved reading his accounts of the match in "Phoenix from the Ashes"
and "The Art of Captaincy".

Cheers, Terry
