A couple of lined composition books, containing handwritten material has
come into my possession. but they aren't dated. I would like to be able
to get an approximation of their age, either by the handwriting style,
or the contents, or the books themselves (but I can't find a
manufacturer's name on them).

Is there anyone who specialises in this type of thing and if so who and
how do I get in touch?

Answers by email please.

tbt - Sorry if you've already seen this. I wasn't sure it got sent the
first time.

I thought folks were getting pretty desperate when they spoke of wanting
to date SENCO but a "lined composition book!!!"

I doubt if this will be possible. My grandmother's handwriting did
not vary much between 1906 and 1976. How would you date the style?

Not sure. I sort of thought between that, and the books and the some of
the idems mentioned, maybe...

Oddly my father's writing and mine are very simalar since he learnt in the 1920s
and I learnt in the 1950s I find it strange.

Not necessarily. My father and I went to the same school. The
teacher who taught him to write also taught me. Our writing is
different but the difference is almost entirely due to the fact that
he is left-handed and I'm not.
