I moved on from D&D to AD&D when I was a kid, but I prefer Runequest now.

Brilliant, Paranoia has to be the most frustrating game I've played,
having to do things that you know are going to get you into deep s**t if
anyone notices. A bit like real life really. I'll pack my dice as well,
including (if isn't broken/lost) my D100, takes ages to stop rolling. Is
there a DM going to Auchen?.

The Kay (bow down all ye infidels) being one of these "similar lunatics"
doesn't recall such a phrase ever being used.

And that's "ridiculous _quantities of_ dice".

My only experience of playing D&D type games was a complete failure. My
youngest brother used to play many years ago, when, AIUI, it was very much
a fantasy game, without books that told you the rules and all these
strange dice, so that was the idea I had of what it was about. But it
turned out that there were all these *rules* that you had to follow, and
you couldn't make anything up. They gave me this character sheet (most of
which I couldn't make any sense of, anyway) for a wizard. Then someone
said I had to go to sleep. I said that wizards don't sleep (well, I've
read my Tolkein, even if none of them appeared to have.) This didn't go
down very well. I think they killed me off (another thing I disagreed
with) soon after that as we were obviously never going to agree on
anything to do with how the game worked.

All right, altogether now, in chorus (move over, George, you're

This took me back to the glory days (before I knew unix and Motif) to
using a big IBM mainframe running OS-390 + a time sharing known as TSO
(yuck), this was the reason I got into Unix as it was the lesser of two
evils.

But one of our test rigs was run on a DEC and it was often easier to
transmit a file to it, edit it using TECO and transmit it back (this was
without ftp, nfs or anything else resembling 1970s technology (in 1990))

Ahh a wave of nostalga has hit me....

It's also much safer if you don't put baby oil on the Twister sheet, but that
doesn't mean it's as much fun.

No, don't tell me, this is like olives only bigger, and pink, isn't it?

you take a crop of babies and put them in a funnel, now for regular baby
oil you squish to your hearts content, but for extra virgin you just let
them exude the oil under their own pressure...

Bit more complicated. It's more of a blender then render process, followed by
desaturation to make it runny. Also, with a little lemon juice, the
traditional dressing on a Herod salad.

:set wrapmargin=n

where n is the number of columns from the right. 2 for 78 cols, but I
use 8 to give 72 cols to make room for multiple quoting etc.

Put this in .exrc in your home directory (without the : ) and you need
never worry again. [This is not a smiley ---------^^^]
