RMK: A sunny and unpleasantly very hot day with hardly
a breath of a breeze. 13.1 hours of sunshine today which
takes the total for the first 10 days of the month to 80.1
hours. That's 90% of the estimated 1991-2020 average
for the whole month. Max temp today was 30.6C which
makes it the second hottest August day in my estimated
series going back to 1991. The only hotter August day was
31.6C on 9th Aug 2003. That record may be threatened in
the next few days. A remarkable summer which makes me
wonder why climate change isn't, by a substantial margin,
the most important item on the current political agenda.
