It is fairly wild up here in North Yorkshire now. Hard frost overnight
and a fair amount of ice on rural roads (main ones were gritted). It was
briefly sunny just after dawn - red sky in the morning and all that.
Yesterday there was a lot of rain and resulting puddles froze overnight.
Wind is still getting stronger and gusts to 50+mph have snapped the odd
big branch. No trees that I know of down near me as yet. It is howling
around the house and things are flying about in the air outside.
Seems to be a bit quieter inland towards Leeming and wilder near the N
York Moors (if their observations are to be believed).
Wind is gusting from SE/SSE at the moment and so breaking a different
set of branches to the previous Northerly gales of Arwen. Some of the
things falling now have probably been weakened by the previous storm.
So far so good - the electricity is still on!

We will probably get snow overnight if not before. Temperature hovering
around 2C all day and was colder in more exposed areas. Colder daytime
maximum than was forecast.

I suspect it will be wet snow slush that then freezes on the roads
overnight. Presently it is still raining from a dark grey sky.
