For those that use the Wetterzentrale site to view the GFS ensemble
plumes (e.g.....

http://85.214.49.20/wz/pics/MT8_London_ens.png )

note that a change has been made very recently (?yesterday?) whereby the
CONTROL run is now shown (blue line), rather than the operational run.
The control run will be at a lower resolution than the operational, and
I'm not sure what the worth of this change is: it is better to see how
the ensembles agree (or not) with the main output we see on the
Internet, rather than relate it to a lower resolution run for which we
can't see any output.

I'll change the guide at:-

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/booty.weather/metinfo/models/images/ENS_diagram.htm

to reflect this alteration when I get time (& provided this change is
permanent).

Martin.

T+192 to T+384
Rainfall is now 6 hourly (previously 12 hourly)

... many thanks for that info: I'll incorporate the changes in the
appropriate part of the FAQ.

I don't know if it is my eyes, but although the number of GEFS perturbed
members is supposed to increase (from 10) to 14 for each run, I can only
count 10 (plus the control run). It looks as if this site is thinning
out the extra few members.
