Seems like the Oz YHA has the perfect scam to charge non-member rates and increase membership at the same time. Maybe the UK YHA can do the same.
We are YHA / IYHA members - UK and Life NZ. We are in Oz. for a few months - but our memberships actually mean nothing.
We are trying to book Aust. YHA stays - including Sydney Central and Katoomba. BUT all rates are for non-members and include a new YHA membership for each booking. So over the next month in Oz. we're going to be paying extra non-member rates for every night and accumulating numerous new memberships by the score!!!!
Perfect scam.
