It's about 40 miles and I think no direct train route (You'd have to go up
to Truro)
If you can get to Coverack Youth Hostel - about 10 miles from Pendennis via
Helford Ferry, it's well worth stopping off for lunch in either of the pubs
either side of Helford Estuary and the Old Lifeboat House in Coverack serves
superb food esp. seafood. More info can be found on www.qualityinns.co.uk on
the Old Lifeboat House and Ferryboat Inn. There are also a few pubs that do
accommodation listed for Cornwall as well.

Have a great trip - Cornwall is a wonderful place !

hi Deb,
well this is my favourite neck of the woods personally so I relish a
question about it :O)), Sennen Cove {01736 871 776} is nearest to Lands
End, within "coastal" walking distance, also St Just Kelynack YHA {01736
787337}& Kelynack bunk barn {01736 787633} - ditto I guess depending on how
much of a walker you are,
Also there are backpackers hsotel and YHA at Penzance which is much nearer
unless you have a car Cornwall is quite difficult to get about public
transport isn't too great. Cycling is nice but fitness is pretty key
sometimes it's quite hilly!!
Also Cape Cornwall is far more gorgeous and awe inspiring to visit than
Lands End I would like to be married or buried there if possible ( the
latter is more likely to happen than the former though !! }
If you go to Cape Cornwall give a big smile from me to the ruin St Helens
oratory which is at the bottom of the promontory.
I am going to West Cornwall in June answering this post has been fab, it
has whetted my appetite & roused my passion !!
Please feel free to email me with any more questions I am quite willing to
have an opportunity to rave/impart about my favourite area !!}

Also deb don't forget W.Cornwall hasn't only got Lands End but also more
ancient monuments & burial mounds/ stone & bronze age sites than any other
area of Western Europe, per sq mile, so if that kinda thing floats your boat
then you should check them out, cycling or car is the best way to get to
most of them :)

Don't take too long to get to Pendennis Castle Debbie it's closing as a
youth hostel this year, sometime in the Summer I believe English
Heritage who maintain the castle want the rooms back.
