How would anyone go about finding a job in Europe without mailing
each and every hostile?
Where can job postings be found for this type of thing???? Are
there any???

If there are any clues that don't cost the money that some of the
placement agencies require I would greatly appriciate the help.

Thanks....:)

To get a job for the YHA in England and Wales, you can write to
the head office who then send a circular around to the hostels.
I think this might actually be done by the regional offices.
If you fancy working at a particular hostel, then you can write to
also the warden at a hostel.

Most hostels take on temporary assistant wardens - perhaps from
April through to the end of September. There are a lot less jobs
for the winter months.

To get a job working in a hostel in another European country, try
writing to the national head offices. You should be able to get
the addresses from an international YH handbook. Don't be
surprised if different countries, regions and hostels handle
things in completely different ways.

I'd suggest writing to the head offices in the countries you would
prefer to visit, and asking them how to get a job. In Britain the YHA
advertises in one of its magazines, not Triangle so much as the other
one which is like a newspaper and goes out to hostels and wardens.
Sorry I can't remember its name but the head office will be able to
tell you what to do anyhow.

Hostelling organisations may also advertise on their web sites.

Most hostel managers can decide (within a strict budget!) whom they hire -
that means: There are no central job departments of the various hostel
organizations.
Sometimes, there is a limited number of semi-volunteer jobs sponsored by
DJH, the German branch of IYHF ...

I'm manager of the Munich IYHF-Youth Guest House and I get more than ten
applications for a job every day, even without postings, announcements or
advertisements. The other side is that I do not have so many vacancies 8-(
because most staff here is happy enough not to quit the job 8-).
But: If you send me an e-mail with a detailed description of your
expectations, your short curriculum vitae, some good reasons why you are
the woman/man to be chosen and from when to when you are looking for a job
- I will gladly answer your application!
My e-mail-address is: ChBa...@aol.com

There are several free advertisement servers within the internet: If you
are looking for Germany, try the words "kleinanzeigen" (ads) & "kostenlos"
(free) & "stellen" (jobs) for the search machines.

Have fun hostelling
