New breakfast place

Not bad at all.

There is a new oatcake shop which has just opened near me, and they are
rather good. For those not in the know, Staffordshire oatcakes are like
a pancake, but made using oatmeal flour, and are nothing like the
Scottish ones.

Anyone near Longport in Stoke on Trent look for Oatbakes, sort of semi
hidden down a side street near the station, about 200 yards off the
Tremt and Mersey. No website yet...

As always, the BBC make a production of the recipe, but if you ignore
the waiting time as the batter matures, to make the basic oatcakes takes
about ten minutes to mix, and less than five to cook on a griddle. I
fill mine with cheese, and also like them with a just a smear of butter
and Marmite.
