Many thanks for approaching me. Unfortunately the picture is not mine, but
one submitted to me some time ago to illustrate an update to Nicholson's
Guide. I keep no records of who submitted which update so cannot enquire of
the owner for their permission.
I am posting a copy of this message to news:uk.rec.waterways and
news:free.uk.binaries.canals. It's quite likely that you'll find someone
able to respond and happy to release a picture to your site, possibly even
the photographer of the work in question.
(If you don't normally subscribe to newsgroups, search at:
http://groups.google.co.uk/advanced_search?hl=en
using the subject line of this message as the search text and you should be
able to read this message and any responses and be able to respond
yourself.)
A final suggestion is to visit http://www.geograph.co.uk and see if you can
find an
appropriate picture there. Pictures posted on that site are all posted
subject to creative commons licence (explanation is available on links from
the site) and are available for commercial use.
Hope this helps!

for updates to Nicholson, Imray and Pearsons Guides - and lots more!
"Britain's most inland port, the historic gloucester docks are well
worth a visit."
Is Gloucester more inland than Goole or Manchester? Where does "inland"
start?

Brimscombe Port would have done nicely ...
I'd have thought that Stourport was more inland than Glos. What makes a
port a port?

Gosh - a potential long runner here !
If more inland is the criterion - my vote's for Stockport.(Closely beating
Coalport)
No doubt M. will come up with xxxport etc.
This thread has spilt !
Please see fubc as well !!

It hasn't split on my newsreader. Both newsgroups showing up on all
messages. I posted my suggestion 15 minutes before your post saying I
might!
I blame your Outlook Express.

If it's any consolation I can now report that Chris and Sarah report
"Many thanks for your reply and for the help and information. We've already
had a response from the newsgroup posting you so kindly did for us.
.....kindly let us use some of his images, he even offered to go out and
take some for us if we couldn't find what we needed on his site!"
So, as predicted, the kindly folks at urw and fubc have come up trumps for
them. Thanks to those involved.
Carlsberg xxxport?
