WHILST Chesterfield Borough Council is boasting of its £300m bid for
the development around the Chesterfield Canal Basin, the canal
restoration itself has been brought to a complete stop.

Hmm, in my experience, temporary stops can turn into very long
'temporary' stops especially where the cause of the stop is funding
problems. Only the great Olympic con will never be stopped due to
funding problems. The self appointed great and good cannot be allowed
to be deprived of their jollies.

There are going to be ups and downs with any long term restoration project.
I still feel the word "terminated" is inappropriate in this case.
