It is normally recomended that you use a 30% vehicle antifreeze mixture but
there are acouple of things to watch.
Antifreeze comes in two year and five year lifes. Although more expensive
the 5 year life is probably more cost effective.
There are now two common antifreeze chemicals used and both come with two or
5 year lifes but you must NEVER mix them. If you do they react and form
jelly like stuff. If you intend to change the type it is important to give
the system a very good flush.
I expect you will have the older one in your system and it is usually
coloured blue or green. The new stuff is coloured red/purple/orange.

And (with reference to a previous heated thread here) bear in mind
that if there are any potential weak points in the system an
antifreeze mix will find them.
