I am looking for a supplier for Gates micro-v belts and Mitsubishi V belts
for my Beta 43 engine, with Travelpower.

I can get them from Beta but they seem a bit pricey and I was wondering if
anyone had a source.

The exact same Beta engines are used in fork lift trucks but badged
differently. Try a local FLT company....

You should be able to get them from any good motor factors. I get mine from
Clarke Motor Factors in Stroud; as long as you have the Gates number they
should be able to get them for you. I suggest you replace the Mitsuboshi V
belt with the Gates 'Extra Service' equivalent; these last a lot longer.

I have also obtained Gates belts from a place called AutoCare in Stone and
also from Warwick Car and Commercial Spares which is close to Lock 24 (Cape
Lock) on the GU.

Any bearing house/power transmission company can get them, usually
overnight if you can supply the Gates number.
My preferred choice is Brammer aka Bearing Services aka BSL.

Are they fitted with travel power generators?

I tried them and they hadn't a clue as to what the Gates numbers meant.

I have since found the Micro-V belts at AC Belting in Gloucester. However
the Mitsuboshi is proving a problem. The industrial belting people say it is
an automotive belt and the automotive people want to know the vehicle it is
off. For some inexplicable reason as soon as I say it is a narrowboat they
are lost :-)

I never managed to source the Mitsuboshi belt supplied by Beta. I have a
Beta 1903 ; the Mitsuboshi belt supplied by Beta for my engine has the
following number:

Mitsuboshi REMF-6415 (C112 180/181 14-0)

This belt can be replaced with a Gates extra service belt number:

Gates 6474EXL (AVX13 x 1100La)
