I'm using the choco install ublockorigin-chrome command in powershell to get Ublock Origin installed on Chrome which is successful. But the extension is disabled and must be manually enabled. Does anyone know how I would go about enabling the extension automatically?

i use the "chrome" browser exclusively on my windows 10 computer and the extensions that i use with it are "adblock plus" and "scriptsafe," along with "malwarebytes browser guard." i also use the "disable html5 autoplay (reloaded)" and "easy webrtc block" extensions.

i have never tried using the "ublock-origin" extension. it was intended to be a substitute for "adblock plus" but "adblock plus" has always worked fine for me so i choose to stick with using it. they both use the same blocklists.

jfr I opened an issue in the contacts repository on github:

Since Chromium is being further developed and also JavaScript, it remains clear that various plugins are no longer compatible with Chromium 49. In Advanced Chrome, the JavaScript is older than by Chromium 49. On Google Chrome 49, I could to persuade μBlock 1.17.0 still working , for this which I have adapted the file manifest.json ("minimum_chrome_version": "49.0") and have taken over the file "asset-viewer.js" from the μBlock version 1.16.20.

One of the more controversial changes with Manifest V3 is changing how the chrome.webRequest API works, making it more observatory instead of its current blocking powers. The blocking powers would then be passed on to the chrome.declarativeNetRequest API.

uBlock Origin (/ˈjuːblɒk/; "YOO-block"[5]) (previously uBlock and originally μBlock) is a free and open-source browser extension for content filtering, including ad blocking. The extension is available for Chrome, Chromium, Edge, Firefox, Opera, Pale Moon, as well as versions of Safari prior to 13.[6] uBlock Origin has received praise from technology websites and is reported to be much less memory-intensive than other extensions[7][8] with similar functionality.[9][10] uBlock Origin's stated purpose is to give users the means to enforce their own (content-filtering) choices.[11][12]

Since October 2017, uBlock Origin has been completely separated from Aljoudi's uBlock.[21] Aljoudi created ublock.org to host and promote uBlock and to request donations. In response, uBlock's founder Raymond Hill stated that "the donations sought by ublock.org are not benefiting any of those who contributed most to create uBlock Origin."[6] The development of uBlock stopped in August 2015 but there were sporadic updates from January 2017.[22]

In July 2018, ublock.org was acquired by AdBlock and resumed development.[23] Since February 2019, uBlock began allowing users to participate in "Acceptable Ads",[24][25] a program run by Adblock Plus that allows some ads deemed "acceptable" and unintrusive, and for which larger publishers pay a fee.[26]

uBlock Origin remains independent and does not allow ads for payment.[27] The project refuses donations and instead advises supporters to donate to maintainers of block lists.[6][28] Hill continued to work on the extension under the name uBlock Origin, abbreviated as uBO[29] and originally as uBlock0.[30]

For your "non-Domain" and/or personally-owned computers, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, uBlockOrigin, and NoScript are free downloads. Firefox is available at -US/firefox/new/; Chrome at google.com/chrome. Download uBlock Origin and NoScript by following the procedures below.

Recently, I went to open my Outlook e-mail on Google chrome, and uBlock Origin blocked the site. The site works fine on Firefox (which also has uBlock Origin) and, I've never had this issue on Google Chrome before. Anyone else having this issue?

I'm having the same issue. I just restarted my computer last night to install a windows update. Today when I tried to use Outlook I kept getting the same error. Eventually I narrowed it down to the ublock extension. When disabled or when in incognito mode outlook loads just fine. I'm stumped so far to as to why or how to fix it besides the before mentioned ways. I'll stay posted if I figure it out.

Popup filters can also be used to filter popunders. This was the case in the original implementation of popunder filtering, however this was removed eventually as this was causing too many false positives for popunders, causing legitimate tabs to be closed (#1010). The new solution is to still filter popunders according to existing popup filters, but to disregard popup filters which are too broad. Cases for which a popunder cannot be taken care by an existing popup filter, an explicit popunder filter should be used.

Update: There is now a companion extension for uBlock Origin, which will restore the ability of uBlock Origin to see/filter WebSocket connection attempts: -origin-websocket/pgdnlhfefecpicbbihgmbmffkjpaplco.
