This is also the expedition closely associated with the IMAX "Everest"
film.
No, I know no more about it than this, but I'm curious and will try to
see it.

Went last night and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The play is a reconstruction of an expedition to climb an 8000m peak
(Lhotse). It is superbly staged, including a fair bit of action on the
climbing wall, with few if any features of a Himalayan expedition missing.
All the gear lying about the stage, the sponsor who has to be tolorated, the
hassles of Khatmandu, the climbers husband left at home minding the kids,
ladders across crevasses in the icefall, even streaming video on the
expedition website being updated from basecamp! The life and death situation
that is being on the ground 8000m up brings a tense end.
The statistic is quoted that 1 in 6 climbers fail to make it back down.
There are 6 characters on the expedition....
I felt that the play was a reasonable attempt to show a real expedition, at
wasn't some fantasy style story. It's well worth seeing if anyone's in
Glasgow next weekend.
The company are interested in taking the production to other venues.
However, the performance space does need at least 30 feet of climbing
wall...
Cheers, Jiffy
It's on a big wide street, I got parked just outside the theatre.
Enjoy.
Snap. Thanks for the info. I enjoyed it although it was my first time at the
theatre for a long time. It was well written and performed but I thought the
final mountain scenes could have been a lot more dramatic.
