Some of tape over the seams in the back/shoulder region of
my old goretex jacket (3 layer type) has become detached.
Anyone know of a suitable substance for gluing it back on ?
Or is something more sophisticated/specialised needed ?

Thanks for any advice
Tim

Goretex repair tape, its pretty much the same as the seam tape material.

A decent shop should have it.

since you mention the word 'glue' I would suggest you Google for
'Seamgrip'

Stay with specialist stuff for outdoor clothing, a large craft outlet place
recommended a material glue but when used it wasn’t any good for the job.
