Looking to park in the car park near the summit of the Crimea Pass and then
walk to the summit of Moel Dyrnogydd and follow the ridge over Alt Fawr and
down and up to Craig Nyth-y-Gigfran. That seems quite straightforward.
Question for you guys is can I cross the Ffestiniog Slate Quarry/Gloddfa
Ganol mine/Oakley Quarry land and come out at SH 69628 47657. This is on the
A470 at the start of a PROW, which I can use to get at Moel Farlwyd and back
to the car park.
If not I'm faced with a reascent of Alt Fawr, a retrace along the ridge for
a bit and then to follow a line from Llyn Iwerddon down to Llyn Fridd-y
bwlch and out onto the road just above where I want to be.
I did think the Deweys were going to be an easy option in my declining years
but I'm beginning to think they pose more problems than the Nuttalls,
Wainwrights and Birketts put altogether.
