Jogger who shoved woman into traffic still at large after London police close case

London police have closed the case on Thursday of a jogger who thrusted a
woman onto a bus lane -- after they’ve exhausted more than 50 leads,
reports said.
A still-mystery jogger shoved an unidentified woman, 33, off the sidewalk
of Putney Bridge in southwest London last May, The New York Times
reported.
She slammed onto the pavement and narrowly escaped more serious injuries
as a bus veered away from her head.
“As a suspect has not been identified, and as all lines of inquiry have
now been exhausted,” London’s Metropolitan Police said in an email
statement obtained by The Times, “the investigation has been closed.”
The Met Police released surveillance footage of the episode last August,
and asked for the public’s assistance in locating the jogger.
The suspect has been described as a white male in his early- to mid-30s,
with short brown hair and brown eyes, the paper reported.
In the video, he is seen wearing a light blue shirt, dark shorts and
sneakers.
Out of the more than 50 suspects, the Met Police arrested three men who
were released without any charges, BBC reported.
One of the three men is American banker Eric Bellquist, 41, who lives in
London. He provided “irrefutable proof” that he was abroad at the time of
the incident, The Guardian reported.
“Should any new information come to light,” the Met Police said, “this
will be explored.”
