Hi Dave!
DP> But what was the moving star? Another higher altitude aeroplane? As
DP> far as i could see while I tracked it, it didnt make any sudden
course
DP> changes, it seemed to move quite smoothly, but was very high up,
like I
DP> say as bright as a normal type star. It made
DP> no sudden speed or direction changes or changes in light intensity.
I
DP> would suggest a meteorite or high level aircraft.
A possible explanation to this might be that all you saw was an orbiting
satellite. In the summer me and my m8s often go spotting them. They just
appear like a normal star and move smoothly across the sky, in a
constant
direction. We've seen both fast and slow ones as well. Can't explain all
the aircraft activity though.
Cheers!

Hehe, a crop circle that *no-one* takes any notice of, or one that gets
the local farmers so p!ssed off that they just *have* to charge people
for the privilege of viewing? Or maybe just let the Alsation roam free
for a couple of nights... Hmmm, descisions, descisions - these fake

GIANT UFO SENT MY WHOLE LIFE INTO ORBIT
By David Jack
Britain's top UFO investigator has revealed how an amazing experience
with a
giant spaceship changed his life forever.
Tony Dodd's close encounter of the weird kind came as he answered a
routine
call over a disturbance in a North Yorkshire village.
"We drove round a bend and suddenly there was a massive spaceship
hovering
above the road," said the 600-year-old ex-police sergeant. "It was
spectacular. Our mouths just dropped open in amazement. I hit the brakes
and
skidded to a halt.
*" The craft was about 100ft off the ground, very bright with flashing
lights
rotating around what looked like portholes.*
"It was glowing white hot but it was completely silent. It passed
overhead and
moved off. We were mesmerised."
Now Tom [NOTE: Article says "Tom" not my typo] is a world expert on
UFOs, ETs
and alien abductions and has dedicated his life to proving there IS life
in
outer space.
He claims to have seen dozens of flying saucers and tracked down scores
of
Britons who have been abducted by their occupants since that first
sighting at
Cononley, near Skipton, in 1978.
*As director of investigations for the UFO agency Quest International he
has
lobbied governments all over the world.*
Tony, who lives in the village of Grassington in the Yorkshire Dales,
now
wants the British Government to admit that life in space exists.
"They know what's going on. It's immoral that the Government and
military are
keeping everything secret."
And Tony, whose quest so far has cost him œ30,000, adds: "People can
think
what they like. Many will think I've completely lost my mind - but
aliens do
exist!"

Derek Purkiss decloaks and writes....
Hi all,
I found this article in this weeks edition of the Walthamstow
Guardian...
EXPERTS BAFFLED BY UFO SIGHTINGS
More tales of the unexpected are doing the rounds in Waltham Forest.
Following reports of ghostly goings-on at The Village pub come claims of
UFO sightings.
Painter and decorator Tony Golbourne,of Wigton Road,Walthamstow says he
saw
a large orange object hovering in the sky when he looked out of his
bedroom
window in the middle of last Monday night.
Said Tony: "It looked bigger than a dinner plate if you held it up
against
the window,I have never seen anything like it."
He said it could not have been the Moon as there was a new moon in the
sky
last week.
"People tend to think you're pulling their leg or you're a raving
nutcase
if you tell them these things but in all my life I have never seen
anything
like what I saw the other night.
"I was shocked and a little bit frightened."
This is not the first time Tony has seen unidentified objects floating
above
Walthamstow.
In the summer he said that he had on several occasions seen a blinding
white
sphere edging towards him from the north.
However,at that time in July,a meteor shower was passing through the
solar
system, leaving a trail of white light in it's wake.

But Tony is not the only one to have seen strange and unexplained
events.
Chingford resident Melinda Gooding,of Kingsley Gardens, told the Guardian
that she saw a blinding white light in the sky on Sunday evening (29th).
Roy Lake,of the local branch of London UFO Studies, said he was quite
concerned at the recent happenings.
"I have a feeling there's something going on,particularly in
Walthamstow,"
he said."There has been a lot of activity in the skies recently."
A spokesman for the Met Office in London said that it had received no
reports
of strange sightings.
The Police, too, have heard nothing.Inspector Chris Jackson at Chingford
told
the Guardian:"There's been no talk of it.We would expect to have heard
of
something like that."
London UFO Studies holds its next meeting on November 24th,at the Unity
Hall,
Bramley Close,Walthamstow.
Member Maria Ward who has already appeared with Esther Rantzen in a TV
interview, claims to have been abducted by aliens. She will talk about her
experiences at the meeting, which is from 19.30 to 23.00.
Entry costs £4 to non-members and £2 for members and concessions.

Firstly,bloody typical!!!
That bloke lives literally a stones throw from me,and could of possibly
spotted his UFO over my gaf, with me in the land of nod underneath!!
I'm curious as to this meteor shower in July.
The perseids are active from approximately July 23rd and I suppose they
are coming from a northerly direction, but how active are they that early
in the shower? do you see a lot early on?
As regarding the womans sighting,I was out last Sunday and I did notice
a
blimp doing the rounds in the Walthamstow area.Of course it might have
nothing to do with what she saw.
And of course, being a week before Guy Fawkes night, there was bound to be
a
lot of premature letting off fireworks don't forget.

Derek

Hi Derek,
DP>I'm curious as to this meteor shower in July.
DP>The perseids are active from approximately July 23rd and I suppose
they
DP>are coming from a northerly direction, but how active are they that
early
DP>in the shower? do you see a lot early on?
If you think how fast they move across the sky before burning out I
doubt very
much that whatever was seen was due to a meteor shower. Add to that the
reference to it being the size of a dinner plate held up to a window and
you
can rule meteor showers out completely.
DP>As regarding the womans sighting,I was out last Sunday and I did
notice a
DP>blimp doing the rounds in the Walthamstow area.Of course it might

DP>nothing to do with what she saw.
The blimp is worthy of consideration especially with the UFO blimp
Richard
Branson uses! For those who are not aware of it Richard Branson has a
blimp
shaped like a "flying Saucer" which is brightly lit and he gets a lot of
pleasure by shining lights down on the people below!
DP>And of course, being a week before Guy Fawkes night, there was bound to
be a
DP>lot of premature letting off fireworks don't forget.
Fireworks? Hmmm maybe, but I think that unless it is a firework of the
type
that comes down on a parachute (I am being serious) the sighting would
disappear very quick.
All the best,
John.

ORTK'S DON RATSCH HAS THIS TO SAY:
OBERG SEES STS-37 UFO
On April 5, 1991 the STS-37 was launched from the Cape in Florida,
and it landed on April 11, 1991. During the mission, as the Orbiter was
approaching the west coast of South America, a dramatic event occurred.
As the video camera was rolling and aimed at the viewing window,
recording the daylight side of the colored earth below, all of a sudden
the orbiter rocked and wobbled as a round UFO appeared outside the
viewing window. When the slightly ovoid object first came into view, it
traveled from the left to right very fast, changed course to the left
and then stopped and hovered.
In September of 1994, a gentleman by the name of Marc Whiteford from
Arlington, Virginia was attending and speaking at the Wyoming UFO
Conference, where certain scientists were giving presentations. Mr.
Whiteford knew that I had in my possession the original video recording
from NASA Select of the Starwars UFO event known as STS-48. It was
previously shown on TV shows such as HARDCOPY, ENCOUNTERS, THE LARRY
KING SHOW, etc. Upon his request I agreed to send him a good copy of
the STS-48 event and other mission events as well. I included the
STS-37 UFO footage. In the conference audience was Paul Davids,
Executive Producer of the Showtime movie, "Roswell." The NASA film
turned over to him included the STS-48 and STS-37 footage. He used
this footage at the very end of his two videos called "The UFO Cover-up
Continues, Volume 1 & 2. When Mr. Davids was making his movie
"Roswell," he already had poorer copies of STS-48 and STS-37 footage,
which he included in the beginning of "Roswell." The STS-37 UFO is seen
moving dramatically into view from left to right, as General Sanford is
dubbed in on the right side of the screen saying the words, "We can say
that the recent sightings are in no way connected with any SECRET
DEVELOPMENTS BY ANY AGENCIES OF THE UNITED STATES. Then as the close-up
is shown of the STS-37's movements, another military man on the right
side of the screen is heard saying, ". . . there is nothing to hide at
all. . . . " Unfortunately the close-up STS-37 UFO, through
technological manipulation, is seen traveling from the other direction.
But anyway the viewer can see the round ovoid shape.
Where does Mr. Oberg fit into this? Remember that the STS-37 UFO
comes into view as the shuttle is on the daylight side of the earth.
Well, believe it or not but Mr. Oberg while in the Mission Control
Center had watched that UFO make its appearance yet another time, when
the shuttle was on the NIGHT side of the earth. In 1992, Mr. Oberg and
I exchanged snail mail and in one of his snail mails dated July 14,
1992 on the third paragraph he states:
"Last but not least is a page from my personal log written during the
STS-37 mission last April, when I was in the Mission Control Center for
the deploy of the GRO science satellite. While watching a long stretch
of NIGHTSIDE video I saw a bright ovoid image cross the screen from
left to right. Although I was sure there was a rational explanation it
was an impressive apparition. I personally never thought it was an
alien spacecraft but you are welcome to follow up on it. And I'm
presuming you have been taping the NASA Select video since STS-48"

NATIONAL PRESS RELEASE:
One of the things we try hard to do with ORTK is inform the
press. The press is the eyes and ears of the public, and most of the
public gets its information through the mainstream press. It is
imperative that the press be well informed on UFOs. We have learned
that because most of the press is very busy, it depends upon
information coming to it. It rarely has the time to dig into things.
The press gets most of its information through the news-wires and other
press. There are press news desks where desk editors receive press
releases and other information.
Here is where ORTK Internet members can help make a dent in the
cover-up. You can distribute high quality UFO information to the press
via email. You can also make copies of UFO-related information and
distribute every week or two material to mail boxes in local press
buildings. All you have is the cost of copying and no postage.
Tallahassee, the capitol of Florida, is only about 20 miles from where
I live, and there is a press building there. There are about forty
press boxes all over Florida. I have really heightened the media's
awareness of the UFO subject by dropping stuff off at the boxes. I
have also received much good press coverage from these folks. This
press educational campaign should be expanded to your area.
How about it folks! Take a bite out of the cover-up by educating the
local press. For just a few dollars copying costs you can make a
difference.
As a interesting experiment, you could e-mail the below press
release to press e-mail boxes. You can also print copies for
distribution in your local press building. Often it takes many press
releases to get a journalist interested enough to do a piece. Don't
get discouraged because over time as the press get better educated by
the material you are delivering, more and more journalists will become
interested. All it takes is one good article to get out on a news-wire
or big city newspaper and you have reached hundreds of thousands or
even millions of people. This one article can make the effort
worthwhile. If we are going to break the cover-up, you must get
involved and help. This is a good way to get started. If you give a
little of yourself, doing so may become a habit. One day you will wake
up just as Mike and I did and find that you are activists. Activists,
knowing that the job will not get done otherwise, do not leave civic
responsibility to others.

issue to be discussed in political circles. If Congressmen like
Stanford Bishop don't have the backbone to dig out the truth about the
UFO cover-up because of the potential ridicule surrounding the subject,
then folks like myself and Mike will have to get into Congress and do
it ourselves."

issues that Ed and I will be taking on. The UFO issue is a very
important issue that needs to be discussed and debated openly amongst
the public and the politicians without fear of ridicule."
Both Ed and Mike stress the need for honest, open Congressional
investigations and hearings. Many retired military officers,
intelligence officers and astronauts are waiting in the wings to
testify before Congress, if Congress will grant releases from their
security oaths. Ed and Mike suggest that journalists verify this by
contacting retired Sergeant Major Robert Dean, formerly employed at
NATO SHAPE headquarters. His phone number is 602-882-9544.
"The two greatest issues facing the human race today are
over-population together with its concomitant environmental
degradation, and the reality of extraterrestrial civilizations on earth
societies." says Ed Komarek. "The problem is that these two issues
are so vast that many people can't see the forest for the trees. All
the lesser issues obscure the larger issues that, unless resolved, will
continue to participate the collapse of civilization as we know it."
When asked about their chances of winning office, Ed and Mike
state that it is difficult to tell at this time. "Even if we don't
win, the journey will be worth the effort." Says Ed. "At the very
least we will have taken another of many small steps toward resolving
some of the significant issues of our time," claims Mike. Both Ed and
Mike stress the importance of all citizens becoming involved in
government and providing citizen oversight of government. They believe
that we all get the government we deserve. They ask, "If citizens
don't look beyond self-interest toward the common good, then how can
things change for the better?"

Dear Ed,
On behalf of all at ISCNI, congratulations to ORTK UK for a very
successful and effective demonstration at the House of Commons on
October 10. It shows that a few people with strong convictions can make
a big difference. Let's hope the media follow-through continues, and
public awareness continues to grow.
Again, congratulations and best wishes. We'll carry the news of your
successful event in the next edition of CNI News, and the ISCNI*Flash.
Sincerely,
Michael Lindemann

----- FLYING SAUCER CRASH-O-RAMA -----
Report #1 on Psychospy's
1995 UFO Crash Site/Underground Bases Tour
INTRODUCTION
Life on earth could not possibly happen. The chances are too
remote. You could easier make gold out of lead than find the right
mix of chemicals and atomic bondings to entice inert molecules to
reproduce. Proposing that this life might later become
intelligent--capable at least of changing TV channels and nuking
up dinner in the microwave--far exceeds the bounds of credulity.
You have to laugh at those alleged scientists who claim it is so.
Living in Vegas, we know for sure you can't beat the odds because
we never have. Therefore, it cannot be true: There is no life on
earth, and none of this is real.
Psychospy is not afraid of the implausible, however. If it looks,
smells, tastes and feels real, then what the heck, we'll give it a
shot. For want of a better theory, we take our sensory world at
face value, but never with complete confidence. We are always on
the lookout for the Wizard of Oz behind the curtain or any subtle
inconsistencies in the structure of life that might show us the
seams. Life is a soundstage, we suspect, and sooner or later we
will open a door and find only scaffolding. Sometimes we despair
and cry out to the heavens, "What does it all mean, dear God--if
you exist which you probably don't so why are we trying to reason
with you?" Then we go to a casino and eat a buffet, which makes us
feel at least a little better.
Such were the nihilistic thoughts that burdened our hypothetical
mind as we screamed down a desert highway at a million miles an
hour (given the rotation of the earth around the sun and the sun
around the galaxy and the universe's expansion since the Big Bang,
which probably never happened either). We were hunting flying
saucers, which are almost as elusive to us as Bugs Bunny to Elmer
Fudd. ("Shhhhh, be vewy, vewy quiet....") They are, in fact,
implausible, if not impossible, and we wouldn't give them the
slightest attention if we didn't know that none of this was real
to begin with.
Specifically we were hunting flying saucer crash and landing
sites--places where alien craft are not now but might have once
been. The locations come from various claims in our growing body
of folklore. To qualify as a "crash site" to us, someone just has
to point there and say so. One such location is near the corner of
Charleston and Jones Boulevards in Las Vegas. This is the alleged
site of the UFO-themed Area 51 Nightclub and Dreamland Lounge
[DR#26 | #27], which never existed. A flying saucer was supposed
to crash on the roof but never did--which is almost as good as a
one crashing 45 years ago and not being there now. The only
difference, in theory, is that there are no traces of the former,
while the latter ought to have displaced at least a Joshua tree or
two. Such talk, however, digresses into the realm of physical
evidence, which Psychospy abhors.
PROOF? You want PROOF? Where is that going to get you? We don't
care what kind of physical evidence you have--photos, videos, soil
samples, unidentified compounds, broken Joshua trees. Like with
the alien autopsy film [DR#30], there will always be one group of
experts who say, "It can't be faked," while another group says,
"Sure it can." At best, the results can only be inconclusive--all
the experts saying they can't explain the phenomenon--but that
does not necessarily lead us any closer to the truth.
We go against the grain of modern ufology by saying that physical
evidence is worthless without human testimony to vouch for it, and
since all humans are unreliable, nothing is real at all, and we
can only muddle along as best we can based on how the illusion
appears. Even in court there is no such thing as purely physical
evidence. Fingerprints, DNA analysis, bloody gloves and every
other kind of empirical data is completely inadmissible without a
witness to swear to its origins and methodology, so the verdict
almost always comes down to the jury looking into the witnesses'
eyes and making an emotional decision about whether they are
telling the truth. When the physical evidence suggests an
uncomfortable conclusion, then every witness will be doubted by
the jury and the physical evidence they offer will therefore be
judged unreliable.
What does make a case, over time, is overwhelming social and
economic force--evidence that comes from so many different
directions, is so internally consistent and works so well in
practical implementation that there isn't even a trial. For
example, the earth being round versus it being flat: Haven't we
put that one to rest? (It is flat of course, but we have learned
to control the falling-off-the-edge problem.) There was never any
trial or popular vote on the shape of the earth: The old folks and
their emotional investments simply died off while young people got
rich with their ships and planes learning how to import camcorders
from Japan.
In the matter of UFOs, we know we are not going to prove anything
to anybody no matter what we find on our crash site tour. A lack
of physical evidence does not prove the negative conclusion, while
the jury can always find an alternative explanation for anything
supporting the positive. Many people say they believe in UFOs, but
the leap from a vague and general belief that contradicts nothing
to a single specific reality with texture and odor remains a
terrifying emotional transition. It is like the difference between
believing in ideal romantic love--knights on white horses meeting
virginal princesses--and having to live with a real human mate who
belches and farts and isn't anywhere near that ideal. Fragile
personal delusions must always come crashing down when a dream
becomes reality, so each of us, no matter how "open minded,"
usually seeks subconsciously to avoid that moment of epiphany.
Can Psychospy be accused of the same for neglecting to collect
soil samples or failing to scan the air for telltale radiation at
the crash sites visited? We have learned through contact with
aviation enthusiasts that if any aircraft crashes there will
always be substantial remnants and physical traces left at the
site, no matter how well the government attempts to clean up the
area or how much time has passed. This was true of the F-117A
stealth program and every secret aircraft that went before.
Inevitably, some of the prototypes would crash while the plane was
still "black." The government had great incentive to clean up the
mess, especially with the F-117A, because the coating materials
were highly classified and even tiny pieces could be helpful to

the Soviets. However, at every airplane crash site that ever was,
you can still return today and find remnants. (To prove this,
aviation archeologist Xe...@aol.com has a key ring holding tabs of
metal from each of at least a dozen such crashes, all top secret
at the time but still findable today.) If a craft actually breaks
apart, many of the pieces become embedded in the ground, and they
cannot be effectively removed without, say, excavating a couple
feet of topsoil all around the impact site. This, in turn, leaves
a permanent scar which in the desert is easily visible and might
remain obvious for a century or more.
It is a sacred tenet of the UFO faith that whenever a saucer
crashes, a crack government "Black Beret" recovery team swoops in
and completely sanitizes the area so no traces remain today and
there is no sense in trying to find any. If you are talking about
a substantial "debris field" as was supposedly found at the Brazel
Ranch in the Roswell case, this view is highly implausible. Either
some small pieces of debris must remain on site to this day, or
the government has completely excavated the site, hauled away the
dirt, replaced it with new fill and left behind a noticeable scar.
Every effort by man or machine creates its own traces and these
can hardly be erased without involving still more men and
machines.
Added to this is the implausibility of a saucer crashing at all.
If this civilization is so advanced, why can't they keep their
craft in the air? It would be just our luck that the aliens
visiting earth are the drunk drivers of the universe, sent here to
complete a 12-step program but taking the wheel again while still
in denial. And why do they crash in such convenient locations,
preferring the American Southwest, just far enough out of town
that only a rancher notices but not so remote as to inhibit
discreet military recovery? Whoever the aliens are, they must be
deeply Freudian, crashing by convenience only where it serves
their repressed sexual desires.
Or their lust for boron. This brings us back to the first stop on
our 1995 Flying Saucer Crash Site/Underground Bases Tour.
"I can't get no... satisfaction!"
----- KINGMAN, ARIZONA, MAY 1953 -----
Jarod 2 has provided more details on the Arizona contact and
offered his own theory about what may motivate our Space Brothers
to crash the way they do. Although he says he was never briefed on
the full alien agenda, he was told that the aliens take two
elements from earth: boron and arsenic. Suppose they needed boron
to get their clothes whiter than white, and Earth is the most
convenient place to get it--the local boron Seven-Eleven for this
part of the galaxy. For centuries the aliens harvest what they
need in relative obscurity, but then human civilization starts
closing in on the boron fields. Smuggling the stuff out undetected
becomes harder and harder, so it is resolved by the Galactic High
Council that contact must be made with the local barbarians.
But how should this be done? Do the aliens really want to land on
the White House lawn? That seems too big a production for a little
boron, and it would place the aliens in a Messiah-like position
that no one in the universe would envy. ("Save us, oh great
ones!") Better to choose a more subtle form of contact, sufficient
to obtain the needed elements but not triggering a planetary
stampede. J-2 thinks the Arizona crash, and maybe even Roswell,
were staged events. The craft in Arizona was in perfect condition
as were the occupants, so there would have been no debris left
behind except that of the recovery team.
According to the testimony of "Fritz Werner," an anonymous
government worker who claims in a statement to have been assigned
to the crash, it took place on or about May 20, 1953 (since he was
called late that day and arrived on May 21). Jarod says he was
briefed on the crash some years later, and what information he has
is strictly from his memory of these briefings. The saucer, a
standard 10-meter model, came down around 3 am. The military
seemed to have some warning that it would happen, but Jarod is not
sure what that was: Perhaps UFO sightings in the area or tracking
on radar. The location as told to him was 10 to 15 miles northwest
or north-northwest of the Kingman airport. This would place it in
the Cerbat Mountains, a range which runs south-to-north starting
on the northern outskirts of Kingman.
Red Lake has been cited by UFO buffs as the site of the crash,
although we do not know the source of that rumor. This is a five
mile wide dry lake about 25 miles north of the Kingman airport and
just to the east of the Cerbats. Fritz Werner says the saucer
crashed in a sandy area which might have been consistent with a
desert valley like this, but Jarod says the site was in a hilly or
mountainous area, which in this region implies a rocky terrain.
Jarod says it happened on the east side of the Cerbats, not the
west side, because a diagram of the area had been drawn for him on
a chalkboard.
With these instructions, we set out to locate at least the general
vicinity. The northwest corner of Arizona is a vast empty area
similar to the Rachel vicinity: Wide desert valleys separated by
barren mountain ranges. None of it is off-limits, however. There
is a network of fairly good roads in the vicinity. Most are dirt
but many are well maintained and accessible to any vehicle if you
can tolerate the dust. From US-93 about 40 miles south of Hoover
Dam, we turned east on the Pierce Ferry road through the town of
Dolan Springs, just northwest of the Cerbats and about 30 miles
from Kingman.
This town of mobile homes and self-built houses is known for its
own current UFO lore, including lights seen in the sky by
residents and reported by George Knapp in a 8/23 Las Vegas
television news story. "It's the weirdest thing I've ever seen,"
said one local resident. "It was big, really big," said another.
In the TV report (which we only have a transcript for and have not
seen), there was mention of yet another secret base...
Knapp: "Fred Jaimie has the town's best known UFO
story. Over three nights last September, he, his wife,
son, daughter and two friends witnessed a huge UFO that
shook their remote house and danced above their heads."
Jaimie: "It was like a big gyro...It was tumbling, like
a big disc with lights On it."
Knapp: "The day after his first sighting, Jaimie says a
contingent of military types in trucks and helicopters
scoured the mountain behind his home, as if looking for
something. Locals are convinced there's an underground
base in these mountains. A few claim to have had
run-ins with security forces."
Gary Raduenz: "We were looking for an old mine, got run
off by marines guarding the base..."
Knapp: "Officially there is no military base in the
area mentioned by Dolan Springs residents. They suspect
it is underground, somewhere to the north between their
town and Lake Mead but no records of such a base can be
found. We also talked to the FAA which says it can
think of no reason why there would be so much aerial
activity in the region. So what we've got on our hands
is a real life mystery."
The mountains being referred to could be the Cerbats or the nearby
White Hills. It is hard to imagine any secret military facility
here, though, since these mountains are mostly public land that
can be freely explored by anyone. This is also an area of fairly
dense commercial air traffic. The area between Dolan Springs and
Lake Mead is the general approach zone for jets from the east
landing in Las Vegas. We camped near here several months ago and

watched routine traffic pass overhead all night.
It seems that every remote desert town we set foot in has its own
UFOs and secret bases. Still it is an intriguing coincidence: We
are looking for a relatively obscure and forgotten crash site at
the south end of the Cerbats, while residents near the north end
who apparently know nothing about this crash are seeing
inexplicable lights in the sky. Could it be a nostalgic return by
sentimental aliens--or is there boron in them thar hills?
Presumably residents know the difference between the jets that
pass overhead nightly and something more exotic.
Had this been an earlier era, Dolan Springs might have become
Psychospy's worldwide headquarters instead of Rachel, but that
phase of our youth has passed, and we had to press onward. Dolan
Springs is on a rare paved road that leads northwest to Lake Mead.
About 20 miles from US-93, we turned south on Stockton Hill Rd., a
good dirt road leading past Red Lake and the eastern side of the
Cerbats eventually to Kingman. It turns out this is not the most
convenient means of access, though, since we found that Stockton
Hill Road is paved from the south--right to the vicinity of the
purported landing site. To get here, take the Stockton Hill Rd.
exit from I-40 in Kingman and go northeast for about 15 miles
until the road turns to dirt (GPS: approx. 35d28', 114d03').
Alas, from that point we do not have the slightest idea where to
go. According to Jarod's descriptions, the site ought to be within
about five miles of this point in the hills somewhere to the west.
The area is now fairly well populated with recently built
houses--hence the paved road--and it could be considered the
suburbs of Kingman. The Cerbats are peppered with mines, so there
are a lot of four wheel drive roads to be explored. Much of the
land and some of those roads are private, but the area is still
empty enough, especially in the hills, that you can probably hike
wherever you want without complaint. [Another view of area (50k)]
[The Cerbats may be a reasonable area to conduct one of our
monthly public hikes. A casual outing in November or December may
be possible. Watch the Area 51 web page or alt.conspiracy.area51
for a possible announcement.]
We drove some of the back roads and visited a couple of mines in
the area while trying to imagine a secret military operation in
the vicinity, then we drifted back to the end of the pavement on
Stockton Hill Road. Sensing within us an existential angst and now
staring down the great black void of "What do we do now?" we
suddenly felt an overwhelming urge to buffet. Onward we fled
toward Kingman proper to address this concern.
KINGMAN POINTS OF INTEREST
Our buffet needs were adequately satiated at the Golden Corral
restaurant on Stockton Hill near the freeway. Quality and variety
were mediocre compared to Vegas, but the important thing was, it
was All You Can Eat, and no one was going to serve us any
foodstuff sight unseen. What a buffet comes down to is
freedom--the absolute freedom to choose from all the available
options without anyone telling you what you can and cannot eat. Of
course, freedom is never really free. With it usually comes
responsibility, including the obligation to live with your choices
once you have made them. A buffet is slightly different, though.
It is one of the rare environments where you are free to choose
but you do not necessarily have to bear the consequences. If it
looks good you take it, but if it doesn't taste good you can just
leave it on your plate and go back for seconds of something
better. If there is a God, then buffet is what He intended the
earth to be before Adam and Eve screwed it up.
(And do not lay that motherly guilt trip on us about all those
millions of starving children in the Third World who would die for
our leftovers, because what we do not eat at the Golden Corral in
Kingman, Arizona, has no bearing whatsoever on foreign economic
conditions or social inequities, period, case closed.)
Returning to the pursuit of anything relevant to the saucer
landing, we visited the Kingman airport. This would have been a
reasonable point of reference for the military in 1953, since it
had been a important base during the war. The Kingman Army Air
Field was decommissioned in 1946, leaving the town with a huge but
sleepy municipal airfield. We wondered why Fritz Warner would fly
to Phoenix instead of directly here, but it could have been to
avoid unnecessary air traffic, which might tip off the locals.
Near the flightline, we found some hangars and a control tower
from the WWII era. The airfield reminded us of Roswell's: once a
center of secret military activity but now the home of a local
industrial park and probably many ghosts. To reach the airport
from I-40, take the Andy Devine Blvd. exit and go east about 5
miles to the airport entrance. GPS: N35d16', W113d57'.
We also visited the Mohave County Museum, on the western end of
Andy Devine near downtown. Here we met our local operative, R.
Chilcoat, who is the unofficial historian for the Kingman Army Air
Field. He says he is following leads on the saucer crash with some
longtime residents but as yet has nothing substantial. He says he
has heard the name "Foos Tank" associated with the crash. This
would be a cattle reservoir, but there happen to be a lot of them
in the Kingman vicinity, and we have not yet found that name on
any map. (Could it be "Fools Tank" instead?)
[LATE FLASH! Oct. 26: R. Chilcoat has just found it: "Foo Tank" on
the Long Mountain 7-1/2 Minute USGS topo map. Approximate
location: N35d25', W114d00'. The investigation continues.]
Another potential source of information is a local
extraterrestrial entity: the Space Universal Life Church (SULC).
This is a highly diverse UFO group/religious cult/real estate
promotion/telemarketing scam ("Discover a New Happiness!!") that
claims to be trying to build a million-dollar "rehabilitation
center" at Dolan Springs. Who would be rehabilitated and from what
disorder are not quite clear, but the group's confusing literature
offers a clue...
Dolan Springs A Haven
The explosion in chemicals in the latter part of the
twentieth century has given birth to a new disease
entity which many call the Twentieth Century Disease. A
more descriptive name is usually used--Multiple
Chemical Sensitivity. The people who suffer from this
malady are exquisitely sensitive to volatile organic
compounds--such as gasoline, propane, perfumes,
pesticides, petrochemicals, tobacco smoke and residues,
plastic, mold, auto exhaust, synthetic fabrics, etc.,
etc. Symptoms can range from a mild headache to
convulsions and even death.
Those who have this ailment have great difficulty
locating an acceptable place to live. The four foul
follies of modern day civilization--Pesticides, Mold,
Wood Smoke and Urban Contamination--can cause them to
inhabit a literal hell on earth.... During the last
year at least one location with minimal pollution from
these causes has been found. Dolan Springs, Arizona--a
small desert town in a beautiful Joshua tree forest....
Not only are the four foul follies minimally present
but the spectacularly clean air, pure well water, mild
climate and sparse population make this a haven for the
chemically ill. The current residents universally
report "getting better every day."
The church happens to have the same name as one shut down by
authorities in Las Vegas a couple of years ago for telemarketing
fraud, but we can't say for CERTAIN that this is the same group.
The Great Guru of the Kingman church is A. Able, pictured here
[from a local news article]. We have never met the Great One in
person, but we did visit the group's headquarters in a storefront

on Andy Devine near downtown [photo (50k)]. The sign out front
promised "UFO Center--Tourists Welcome," but inside we found only
a dismal thrift shop selling kitchen utensils, used books and
chinsy jewelry with little relating to UFOs. The place was
definitely not free of the Foul Four. The gentleman manning the
store-cum-church was apparently looking after the place while the
Guru was out. He claimed to be a reformed alcoholic, and he told
us more about his tragic life than we really wanted know. He
seemed vague about the saucer crash, however. He thought it
happened on Andy Devine somewhere past the airport.
The attendant may having been confusing the crash site with the
Mohave County Fairgrounds, which are also located near the
airport. This was the site in August of the "Far West Regional
Conference of UFO and New Age Devotees" organized by SULC. The
advanced literature promised 1500 attendees, prominent speakers
and "the latest information releases on UFOs and the May 23, 1953
crash near Kingman." R. Chilcoat reports that actual attendance
was less than a hundred, with the featured speakers being the
not-yet-vanished D. Schmitt (formerly of the band Randle and
Schmitt), overbearing illustrator W. McDonald and 50s-era con man
F. Stranges. It sounded like the sort of epic debacle Psychospy
would have loved to report on, but sadly we could not make it and
have only the advanced literature to cherish. This 12-page tabloid
newspaper is entirely incoherent in editorial content but includes
ads from many prominent Kingman businesses. We suspect that they
did not know what they were signing up for. A neighbor of the
thrift shop expressed to us the opinion that SULC was a
telemarketing fraud soliciting donations from local suckers for a
vaguely defined charity project that would never happen. Indeed,
the literature promised that the August conference would be the
"kickoff for the library, theatre and museum on the SULC land in
Dolan Springs," but our pass through the town in September found
only the empty land and a SULC sign with no sign of any broken
ground or work in progress.
SULC also sells "Retirement Housing" in Dolan Springs. According
to an illustrated ad in their conference literature, $29,900 get
you a cabin in the woods. The illustration shows a majestic forest
surrounding an attractive lakeside home. Hey, wait a minute!
Forest? Lakeside? We thought this was desert. The guru must indeed
be powerful to work such miracles.
Kingman is most widely known today as the one-time residence of
Oklahoma City bombing suspect Timothy McVeigh. The local newspaper
reports that McVeigh's abode was a mobile home park on Oatman
Road, on the other side of the railroad tracks (literally and
figuratively) from downtown Kingman. We climbed to the top of a
nearby hill and took a picture of the only scene that seem
to fit the description.
More fodder for conspiracies: Research Center Regional Director G.
Campbell also once lived in Kingman, in a run-down trailer not
unlike McVeigh's but at the other end of town. Campbell's
residence was in a shabby cluster of mobile homes at the south end
of Emerson Road, across the street from the Foursquare Gospel
Church. The rent was $110 a month or thereabouts for a 30 foot
travel trailer of 1950s vintage. The trailers are still there,
although we don't know which one it was exactly, since this was
about 15 years ago and the unemployed Campbell was there for only
a couple of months. Between feeble attempts to find work in a
jobless town, he rode freight trains east to Winslow and west to
Barstow until his money ran out and he was forced to hitchhike
back east to Momma.
It is unknown whether the disillusioned Campbell purchased any
fertilizer in bulk or was a member of Kingman's far-right
paramilitary groups like McVeigh, but we wouldn't discount it.
----- SOCORRO, NEW MEXICO: ZAMORA INCIDENT -----
As reported in DR#30, our latest tour included a visit to the
Socorro, NM, area where we located the "Roswell" crash site
supposedly described by the cameraman of the alien autopsy film.
We produced a report on this site with photos.
Socorro was also the site of a UFO landing on April 24, 1964
reported by patrolman Lonnie Zamora. Zamora claimed to to have
been chasing a speeder on the highway when he heard a roar and saw
flames in a nearby area. He cut off the chase and drove up a dirt
road to find it: an egg-shaped craft standing on girderlike legs
in a gully. While the incident itself may be subject to debate,
the location is highly specific and can easily be visited.
According to research by T. Mahood, it is within sight of the
Motel 6 at the south end of town.
Getting there: Starting from Motel 6 (near Exit 147 on I-25), go
south and bear right on NM Route 1, where signs say "Airport" and
"Fairgrounds." Then take the first right, before the RV park.
Continue up the hill on the dirt road, just to the left of the
Raychester Jewelry outlet, between the two houses on the hill
(which we not there at the time). This is the hill Zamora spun his
wheels on when driving up. Continue past a third house on the
right, and about 100 yards beyond that, stop the car. (GPS:
N34d02.597, W106d53.801.) The landing site is somewhere in the
arroyo to the left. Continue on the dirt road and you may find
some old debris that could be connected to the "dynamite shack"
reported as a reference point in the Zamora story. [See T. Good's
"Above Top Secret," page 343-345.]
MORE TO COME
Once again, we have insufficient space and time in this issue to
report on other sites in our recent Crash Site/Underground Bases
tour, so we may describe them in installments in future Rats.
In the meantime, we have prepared a preliminary Farmington/Aztec
UFO page, with the help of our local operatives there, S. Wilcox
and S. Belt.
----- JAROD PORTRAIT -----
Below [on WWW] is a sketch made by the human engineer Jarod 2 of
his namesake alien Jarod 1, who he says is a technical advisor to
the U.S. government project to reproduce flying saucers. This is
the same sketch described in DR#24. This drawing was made from
memory based on first-hand encounters. [The picture may be
copyrighted so please do not copy it, although other web pages may
refer to it here.]
While we are at it, here are a couple of tidbits from J-2,
supplementing his report on the Kingman landing in DR#24: As
previously reported, the four living aliens obtained at the
landing site were kept in quarantine in New Mexico before being
transferred to the Nevada Test Site. J-2 now says that the
duration of their stay in New Mexico was about nine months. During
this time they did a lot of reading and were kept supplied with
books about our technology by their hosts. (Obviously, these were
gentlemen-and-scholar type aliens, not the maiden-stealing,
planet-threatening, "resistance is futile" kind we ought to worry
more about.)
Regarding the disc simulators he worked on, Jarod says he was
recruited for the program around the end of 1953, but he did not
know the project involved alien technology until about 1955. The
first simulator was completed in 1968. (It is not clear to us yet
how this reflects on the completion of the operational craft.)
This is what he calls the "start-up" version of the simulator--the
first to be tested. He continued work on improved models for the
rest of his career.

It is hard to say what this means. Although it sounds like the
government has won another round, the plaintiff's lawyer Jonathan
Turley seems to be spinning it as a victory for his side. In legal
matters, victories and defeats can be subtle, requiring a full
understanding of the law before they become obvious. Perhaps the
presidential exemption itself will create a legal vulnerability.
Maybe in forcing this action Turley is drawing the Groom base more
into the open, making it an easier target for future legal
processes.
In related news, Las Vegas TV station KLAS-TV has petitioned the
judge in the hazardous waste case to open the pre-trial hearings
to the media and public. KLAS Channel 8--aka "People You Can Count
On"--is the employer of George Knapp and the station that first
brought us Bob Lazar in 1989. It is also reputed (by us) to be the
central node of the New World Order in Las Vegas [DR#23]. The lack
of an obvious self-serving motive in their current legal action
has provoked our suspicion and prompted yet another muckraking
Psychospy media expose....
----- KLAS REVEALED -----
Under the pretext of seeking documentation on the above legal
action, we recently penetrated the KLAS facility on Channel 8
Drive, just off the Las Vegas Strip. There we were met by the
still-innocent executive producer J. Johansson, who seems unaware
of the sinister cabal of Rockefellers and UN officials who are
shaping the news to suit their Machiavellian purposes. Johansson
was even naive enough to let us visit the control room during an
evening newscast. This is a fascinating ballet of a hundred things
happening at once, the choreography of which makes an air traffic
controller seem like a funeral director. Nightly crises are
overcome and a dozen nonchalant employees somehow get where they
need to be at the right precise second to generate the smooth-
looking product you see on TV.
The content of the product? It is people and feelings, mostly. You
can't squeeze in much real debate or any high intellectual
concepts in the few dozen words allowed for each story. Thirty
seconds to two minutes are given to issues that each deserve an
hour (except for weather and sports, which are more than
adequately covered). If you don't have a crime scene to show or a
face to say something, then it is hard to run a story at all.
Television is pictures at the expense of ideas. It can provide
some useful visual supplements for the well-read mind--because
some events like war cannot be adequately described in words--but
it is disturbing to know that some people, the majority of the
population in fact, subsist on this diet and have no other window
into the outside world.
We sense that no one is more acutely aware of the limitations of
their medium than the people who work in it. The majority of the
local population sees the TV station as a sort of sacred temple,
the subject of pickets and bomb threats, where the well-coifed
priests and priestesses at six and eleven convey to the
impressionable masses what is and is not worthy of attention.
Inside the studio, though, it is job like any other. The primary
concern of the staff is just feeding the monster day after day,
where they know darn well what it can and cannot digest.
The priesthood in the newsroom sees itself as nothing sacred.
Their world, for the most part, is the studio itself, a relaxed
but well-structured society of camaraderie and conflict not unlike
any other office. It is easy forget here that every word spoken on
the air could be conveyed to fifty or a hundred thousand minds and
might easily provoke a few to kill. The staff produces the work,
cranks out the product, then goes home and gets ready to do it all
again tomorrow. They don't control the news as much as the news
controls them. Typically, at least half of the newscast comes to
the station via satellite feeds directly from the New World Order.
The station is not told explicitly that they must cover, say, the
O.J. trial, but news directors know perfectly well that if they do
not they will be punished through the ratings services. The system
is fiendishly clever that way, since the local journalists don't
even know they are being manipulated. All of the directives from
above are unspoken and thus cannot be traced back to the ruling
elite.
The well-coifed priests and priestesses, or "talent" as they are
known in the trade, appear profound and business-like only
on-camera. Off the set, they dwell among fast food wrappers in
tiny cubicles like everyone else in the newsroom/fishbowl. The
newsroom itself is a lot smaller than it appears in those
"reporting live from the newsroom" segments, with a population
density equivalent to Hong Kong. We're talking TINY cubicles about
8 by 8 feet for two people with partitions that are no more than
chest high. On the inside of each are posted snapshots of loved
ones and cartoons clipped from the newspaper about dealing with
one or another of life's frustrations. This not a place of privacy
or reflection; this is the land of the slam-rush deadline where
everyone needs to be accessible to everyone else and the clock is
the master of all.
At one end of the newsroom is the assignment desk, where the local
news is generated. Someone in the government conveys to the
assignment chief what the news of the day will be, and he or she
dispatches reporters to the scene. The reporters then take their
instructions from local NWO representatives, usually the police.
On camera, the reporter stands in front of the place where the
crime supposedly happened and quotes the official line. Although
the aim of this manipulation is not always clear, it evidently
serves the secret government plan of creating just the right
mixture of emotions in the susceptible public so they can be
easily lead down the rosy path to total government control.
For greater fine-tuning of the public mind, the station also
conducts "investigations," which require longer consultations with
the government, as well as occasional groveling in dumpsters and
wearing of hidden cameras into places you really shouldn't go. In
Cubicle #1, we met the head of the "I Team," T. Warden, who we had
escorted to Freedom Ridge almost two years ago. (His was the first
TV crew there, in fact.) He seemed sincere enough, and he probably
believes in what he is doing, but we couldn't help but notice that
he had wires coming out of the back of his head. Everyone at the
station who appears live on camera has these wires, which are
plugged in to the control system just before the broadcast. (Look
very carefully at any evening news and you'll see them if the
talent turns his head.) The wires are used to deliver electric
shocks to the journalist if he tries to deviate from the script on
the teleprompter.
It is always a startling experience to have known somebody for
years only by their polished, two-dimensional image and then meet
them in real life in full 3-D. They seem so human then, not at all
like gods and even a little vulnerable in their messy cubicles
with pictures of loved ones pinned to the walls. In a corner
hutch, we met G. Knapp, also of the I Team, who was talking on the
telephone to a viewer. More precisely, the caller was talking to
Knapp, on and on without respite, so that Knapp could dangle the
handset by its cord and conduct a full conversation with us while
waiting for the man to finish. We were impressed that Knapp took
the call at all, since he must get a lot of them, UFO crackpots
mostly. It is a little known fact that you can call up almost any
local priest or priestess directly and they will usually answer
the phone themselves. They will patiently listen to what you have
to say and hang up on you only after you have breached the bounds
of normal courtesy.
As part of our impromptu tour, the unsuspecting J. Johansson took
us into the studio itself while the live evening newscast was
going on. It was then when we saw our opportunity. Security here
was virtually nonexistent. In fact, the studio contained just the
two news anchors, P. Francis and M. Bradshaw, two or three camera

operators and the teleprompter operator--who is probably the most
powerful person in the room. Considering the vast audience, things
seemed suspiciously casual, with the off-camera staff dressed like
tourists and the talent radiating authority only when the red
light on the camera came on.
The weather lady, S. Swensk, walked in the door without a second
to spare and did a dance for a couple of minutes in front of a
fluorescent green wall. She pointed with concern to various parts
of the wall that looked as green to us as all the rest. We were
only about fifteen feet away from her then, and it occurred to us
that it was now or never: We had to jump in front of the camera
and expose the conspiracy to all of Las Vegas: "It's a plot!" The
heroic G. Stollman had tried the same at KNBC in Los Angeles in
1987, holding a toy gun to the head of an anchor and forcing him
to read a statement about the involuntary cloning of Stollman's
family [DR#18]. Unfortunately, we did not have Stollman's courage.
We remembered the NWO had acted fast in Stollman's case, cutting
the broadcast off the air before the statement had been read. We
figured the same would happen to us. Our message would never reach
the people; the Rockefellers and UN functionaries would get the
last laugh, and WE would be the one hauled off for "psychiatric
evaluation." Thus, we walked out of the studio in private
disgrace, never seizing a moment that might not happen again.
We did not want to make a pain of ourselves anyway. Everyone at
the station had been nice to us, and J. Johansson had trusted us
in the inner sanctum without even a background check. These were
basically decent people, just responding to the electric shocks
like the rest of us. You could say we are all in this together,
victims of the same world-wide economic conspiracy to make us go
to work in the morning and follows orders we would rather not if
we could live in luxury instead. None of us regular folk have any
control over history. SOMEBODY above us must have a plan--maybe
the aliens, the satellite government, God Almighty or even O.J.
The rest of us remain in the dark, forced to generate the product
day after day without a clue about what it all really means.
Which brings us back to the mystery of what KLAS is really up to
in its latest legal action, asking the court to open the record in
the hazardous waste case. This appears to be an altruistic act
seeking only to promote press freedom and government
accountability. Altruism? That's implausible, if not impossible.
The author A. Rand in her book "The Virtue of Selfishness" (the
favorite of paranoiacs everywhere) proved beyond a shadow of a
doubt that people can think of no one except themselves. Greed,
greed, greed is all that motivates humanity. That and electric
shocks administered to the back of the head. Although we have
considered the possibility of human kindness and unrewarded
adherence to principle, we would have to agree with Rand and her
spiritual colleague P. Klass that such baseless theories would
only open a Pandora's box of irrational thought. People may be
nice, but you just can't trust 'em.
HOWARD AND KLAS
KLAS was once owned by Howard Hughes who used it as his personal
VCR when he was living in the penthouse of the Desert Inn next
door. On the grounds of the station is the bungalow he once owned
and occasionally visited in his early years to privately audition
aspiring starlets. (Such are the privileges of a billionaire movie
mogul.) That was before he let his fingernails grow, fled from the
germs of public life and found his own private Dolan Springs in
the stripped-down hotel penthouse. Only then did he buy the TV
station so it would play the late-night westerns he wanted to see.
(The station later built its new studio on the grounds of the
bungalow.) As the story goes--coming from former KLAS executive M.
Smith via Johansson--Hughes had the bungalow sealed when he moved
into the Desert Inn, and it remained so for 17 years. When he
died, the house was opened in the desperate search for his
nonexistent will. Almost everything inside was found untouched;
even the old refrigerator was supposedly still running. Also
found, though, was a more recent newspaper from the morning after
an atomic test at the Nevada Test Site. This reinforces a theory
that Hughes once secretly took refuge there for fear that the
penthouse was too exposed to the blast.
Hughes was well connected to the defense establishment, and it is
hard to imagine him not being a part of any global conspiracy. He
must have known the truth about the aliens and New World Order,
and that could be what drove him mad.
----- INTEL BITTIES -----
RANDLE VISIT. Roswell UFO researcher K. Randle appeared LIVE in
our Las Vegas annex on Sept. 30, broadcasting his weekly radio
show [DR#30]. He arrived at our facility in the company of two
colleagues: reputed UFO skeptic R. Estes (who is skeptical mainly
of UFO researchers) and clinical psychologist W. Cone. Taken as a
team, these three stuck us as the dourest, most relentlessly
cynical characters since P. Klass. No researcher or witness can
possibly be trusted without a thorough background check and
spotless resume, they seemed to tell us, and the truth about UFOs
will probably never be known anyway. Oh, well. The radio show
broadcasts internationally, that is, directly from El Paso, Texas,
to millions of Mexicans and a few Anglos. Unlike some OTHER UFO
talk show hosts, Randle goes out into the field, conducts
first-hand research and reports his findings by telephone from
wherever he happens to be. In Las Vegas, the three did most of
their research in casinos on the Strip and downtown. They even
visited a facility not acknowledged by the government. It is
called Glitter Gulch, a tavern that charges about $12 for two
beers. Here they encountered a lot of alien activity, most if it
dancing naked on the bar.
HAWTHORNE SIGHTING. On the air, Randle expressed skepticism that
there was ever anything alien on the Nevada Test Site or Nellis
Range. However, he does say that Roswell witnesses claim that some
wreckage from the crash was taken to another base in central
Nevada that was not Area 51, Nellis or the Test Site. The only
military bases we know that might fit this description are Fallon
Naval Air Station, the Hawthorne Army Ammunition Depot and
possibly the Wendover Range. We regard Hawthorne as a very
interesting place that we haven't had much time to investigate.
Hawthorne does not appear on our comprehensive DOD facility list,
and our repeated requests for official information on the base
have gone unanswered. This reservation offers one of the most
startling landscapes in military America: a desert valley covered
by hundreds of earthen bunkers as far as the eye can see. This
would be a fine place to store saucer debris or pickled aliens,
while a mountain on the reservation is apparently riddled with
storage tunnels and would probably satisfy conspiracy buffs in
need of underground bases. As a matter of fact, one of our
readers, D. Allen, reports a clear saucer sighting at Hawthorne.
The craft was hovering, just hovering--as craft like to do--near
that same mysterious mountain. [Full report] Hawthorne is virgin
ground for UFO buffs. If any of our readers want to check it out,
take some snaps and compile data on the area, we will gladly
provide web space for dissemination.
NEVADA INSURGENTS IN TIME MAGAZINE. The Oct. 23 issue of Time
Magazine offers a cover story on the new "Sagebrush Rebellion" in
the West. The article focuses on movement leaders in Nye County,
but similar sentiments are shared by many residents of adjoining
Lincoln County. The rebels say the federal government has no right
to control public lands, which happen to comprise most of Nevada
and many other western states. They say all such lands legally
belong to the states and should be managed locally. The theory of
local control is that ranchers and miners who are the primary
users of public land will take better care of it than the distant
Feds. This is rubbish in our opinion. Turning the land over to
say, the voters of Lincoln County, will only assure the ultimate
destruction and privatization of it as the mining, ranching and
forestry industries run themselves into extinction. Nothing
matters more to local politics than preserving jobs, and local
voters will always sacrifice their long-term future in favor of
keeping their friends and relatives in business. You may ask, How

do you waste a wasteland? The desert, in fact, is very delicate.
It may take centuries to recover from overgrazing and eons to heal
the mining scars left by boom-and-bust operations. It is a unique
resource to have so much land open to everyone. Texas is an
example of local control, where most of the land is private and
thus is fenced off and guarded by shotguns. In comparison,
Nevada's wasteland is still pristine, interrupted only by brothels
and casinos, which are very clean industries.
In the 21st Century, we predict that beef will be replaced by high
tech tofu burgers; efficient wood substitutes will be made by
microbes, and all mines will be mega operations located wherever
in the world the minerals are the richest. (We also predict that
Michael Jackson will marry Hillary Clinton and New York City will
be destroyed by giant locusts, but that's not important now.) As
the inevitable approaches, rural residents will strike any deal
with the devil to preserve their way of life for just one more
year, including stripping the land of anything marginally
valuable. Giving the rebels everything they want would turn the
West into the American equivalent of the rain forests in
Brazil--slash and burn. We know the character on the cover of
Time, rancher R. Carver, and have heard his emotional appeal to a
roomful of grizzled cowboys who seemed angry enough to take up
arms. We regard the movement as a well-meaning con, playing to the
pain of people in dying industries and based on flawed legal
theories. Although the bureaucracy may need reform, we still
support the Feds on this one. Long live the Bureau of Land
Management!
WEBMASTER INTRODUCED. The Area 51 Research Center welcomes its
new "webmaster"--an on-line archivist and programmer hired to
restore order to the chaos of our burgeoning World Wide Web site.
He is D. Kanipe ("can-NIPE"), based in Durham, North Carolina.
Kanipe comes to the position with an impressive portfolio of
existing UFO web pages, including a Lazar page. We trust also
that, like Psychospy, he has no life away from the computer and
that he will not be distracted from his duties by the need for
sleep or any pretense of a healthy social life. All corrections,
comments or submissions regarding our web pages should now be sent
directly to Kanipe at Area...@aol.com. (The old address,
PsychoWWW, is being phased out.)

SENTIMENTAL SWEETNESS FROM P. KLASS

TOP COSMIC SHHHHHH
Oct. 6, 1995
Dear SGE Director:
I regret that I must caution you that Desert Rat
#30 comes dangerously close to revealing not only
the SGE strategy, but that you are the current SGE
Director, following my retirement from that
position.
Don't ever forget that I recommended you for the
top SGE job rather than Jarod because he is too
"fantasy prone," and also suffers from "loose
lips."
Also I must remind you that the penalty for
violating SGE security is to have your penis and
testicles removed by pulling, followed by removal
of fingernails, toe-nails and eye-lashes by the
same means.
P
[Burn BEFORE and AFTER reading]
BOTTOM COSMIC SHHHHHH
We can always count on arch-skeptic Klass to hold the high moral
ground and encourage a thoughtful intellectual debate. We also
love his visual imagery, which succeeds in turning subtle
differences of opinion into glaring concrete entities that demand
recognition. Clearly Klass is an artist on a par with Warhol and
the soup cans. We especially like the part about the testicles. It
is so... raw.
WHAT IS "MUD"?
I underestimated you. I thought you were seeking some
line of truth, but I now believe you to be a fraud. I
feel sorry for the people that don't question what you
distribute; if they had, perhaps they too would see
your MUD. It is often times those most involved that
spread the most disinformation. Please do not
misconstrue this as hate mail, and rest assured I will
no longer bother you, but I will be damned before I let
you get the best of me or the general public.

A CLASSIC ABDUCTION
I am just back after the Ancient Astronaut conference
in Switzerland, at which I met John E. Mack, Prof. of
Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, who has been
conducting a professional study of persons who claim to
have been abducted by UFOs. At the conference he showed
a video of an interview with a Zulu witch doctor who
had been abducted in the usual way and made to have sex
with a boneless woman. He showed up several days later
covered in grey dust and stinking of fish. This man
cannot possibly have been familiar with the UFO
literature, and yet the experiences he described were
of a copybook abduction. Genuine phenomenon or mass
hallucination?
--G.S.
Indeed, this is a terrifying cross-cultural phenomenon. So many
abductees have had sex with boneless women and come back smelling
like fish that it just isn't funny anymore.

where the normal bounds of courtesy have been breached (e.g.

I didn't make this up -- honest! Somebody at NASA sent it to me.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
--
WASHINGTON - The Space Shuttle Endeavor narrowly avoided a collision
with a gigantic UFO during its 12-day mission in September and a
top-secret NASA audio tape proves it! That's the word from author
William Kliner, who claims to have obtained a copy of the tape from
highly placed NASA sources and flatly calls the incident "the most
dramatic close encounter in history." In the 23-second tape, which was
recorded off one of several secret radio frequencies that NASA reserves
for classified conversations with space shuttle astronauts, Commander
David Walker is heard to say:
"Bogey at 3 o'clock . . . God . . . what is it? My God - it's coming
right at us . . ."
NASA: What's there?
Walker: THERE'S NO WAY! Oh God! Get back. MOVE!"
NASA: Endeavor! Endeavor! What . . . explain . . .
Walker: What the . . . where are we? Where is it? Where . . . it's
gone=2E IT'S GONE. Not (unintelligible) . . . UFO. Spacecraft . . . huge
. . . intelligent . . . OVER THERE!
NASA: Endeavor. Switch . . . NOW!
The tape ends abruptly with what would appear to be a NASA order for
Walker to change radio frequency. And while nobody other than Walker,
his crew and a handful of NASA officials knows exactly what happened
next, the Endeavor returned to Earth safely on Sept. 18, indicating
that the close encounter ended without further incident.
"This is dazzling proof that UFOs not only exist, they are piloted by
extraterrestrials who are interested in our technology and possibly even
mankind's ventures into space," declared Kliner, who has published
hundreds of articles on America's space program over the past 25 years.
"Until now, I didn't believe in the existence of UFOs and I certainly
didn't believe that extraterrestrials were visiting our planet. "But
now I know better. Space aliens actually observed our shuttle astronauts
as they orbited Earth - and NASA's own tape proves it."
NASA spokesmen declined to comment on the author's report pending the
outcome of what one official called "an investigation into the source of
unauthorized information that might or might not have basis in fact."
Like NASA, Commander Walker and his crew - Pilot Ken Cockrell and
Mission Specialists James Voss, James Newman and Michael Gernhardt -
aren't talking.
But Kliner's sources say the Endeavor and crew did, in fact, avert an
in-orbit collision with "a massive, walnut-shaped spacecraft of unknown
origin." "From what I understand, the spacecraft was the size of a small
city and glowed bright green as it approached the shuttle," he
continued. "At some point during the encounter, the UFO veered off
course to avoid a collision.
"As far as I know," he continued, "there was no contact between the UFO
and the shuttle. If there was contact, my sources are unaware of it."

For what its worth : The Mean Evening Date of the Perseids is Aug 11th
and the shower lasts about 5 days. The Hourly Number of Meteor Showers
for a Single Observer is 50 and the radiant (the point where the shower
appears to come from) is R.A.046 degrees and +58 degrees Declination.
However the Aquarids meteor shower has its Maximum on July 29th and has
a duration of 20 days and an Hourly Number per single observer of 20.
The Radiant for this shower is 339 degrees RA and -17 degrees Dec. This
is a regular annual shower and I wonder if this could have been what was
seen, as you suggest. I imagine that the shooting stars from a shower
start slowly, build up to a peak at the maximum date and then tail off.

H A P P Y B I R T H D A Y
To Media Watch Editor Rebecca Schatte on Saturday, October 28! And
thanks to
Rebecca, not only for creating a superb Media Watch report every Monday,
but
also for contributing a large number of stories to CNI News in recent
weeks.
Have a great birthday, Rebecca!
==========================================================
1) * EXTRA * NEW REVELATIONS COULD DESTROY SANTILLI STORY
[Just as today's edition of CNI News was "going to press," our intrepid
reporter Rebecca Schatte filed this potentially explosive story. Her
further
investigations will be reported in the next edition of CNI News.]
On Monday, October 23, 1995 the Jacques Pradel Show on French TV Network
TF1
presented new and potentially damaging information concerning Ray
Santilli's
"Roswell Autopsy" film footage.
Ray Santilli has claimed from the beginning that he purchased the
autopsy
video from "the cameraman" along with rare Elvis footage. Ray Santilli
also
issued a statement from the alleged cameraman in late July of this year.
TF1 revealed on the program that Santilli actually came to Cleveland,
Ohio to
purchase rare Elvis footage from the owner of the footage, Bill Randle.
Randle is now an attorney, but in 1955 he was a disc jockey who promoted
concerts at high schools in the Cleveland area. Most of the concerts
were
filmed. The footage that Santilli was after was one of Elvis' first
known
recorded performances, when he shared billing with Bill Haley and Pat
Boone.
This footage was obtained by Santilli after a long negotiation process
with
Bill Randle on July 4, 1993.
In an interview with Bill Randle, the French TV network uncovered that
while
Bill Randle was indeed the owner of the footage, he was NOT the
cameraman.
Those duties fell to one JACK BARNETT, a newsreel photographer who
worked in
the midwest in the 1950s. Jack Barnett, it was revealed by Randle, is
dead.
French TV reported that Barnett died in 1957 of heart disease and was
never
in the military.
It was TF1's intention to suprise Ray Santilli with these facts, but it
appears that Santilli was prepared for the allegation. According to TF1,
the
latest version of Santilli's ever-changing story is that the cameraman
did
not sell the Elvis footage to Santilli, but that the cameraman did call
Santilli in his hotel room. In the opinion of this reporter, the
revelation
of Bill Randle and the fact that the cameraman's name is Jack Barnett is
suspiciously coincidental, given previous claims. Mr. Santilli should
not be
allowed to wiggle out of this story. I have tried to contact Mr.
Santilli in
his London office today for a comment but was informed that he was out
of the
country.
TF1 has also located the elusive and mysterious Volker Spielberg, who is
now
the purported owner of the autopsy footage. Spielberg was reached in
his
current home country of Austria and is said to have told TF1 that he
does own
all the reels of film and that when told that the world deserves to know
the
truth, he responded: "I f--k the world. The world is full of egoism, so
am
I."
I will continue to follow this story as many other researchers around
the
world are doing also.

(Continued from previous message)
establish for the first time the existence of a planet around a star
similar
to the Sun.
The planet appears to be an object at least half the mass of
Jupiter and
is orbiting the star 51 Pegasus, only 40 light-years away from Earth.
If these sightings are borne out by further research, the discovery
would have profound philosophical as well as scientific implications. It
would remove any pretension that the solar system is unique. And the
likelihood that there are many other planetary systems increases the
chances
of there being life -- perhaps intelligent life -- somewhere else in the
universe.
The discoverers do not know if the Pegasus planet is a solid or
gaseous
body, or if it is alone or has planetary companions. They are not sure
if the
planet has always been in its present orbit, or if collisions with other
planets and the star's gravity drew it within five million miles of its
star.
They do know that its behavior is unlike anything in the solar
system;
being so close, it races around its star once every four days, compared
with
the 88-day orbit of Mercury, which at a distance of 36 million miles is
the
nearest planet to the Sun. Earth is 93 million miles from the Sun.
The star 51 Pegasus would look much like the Sun to an occupant of
any
planet it might have at a distance comparable with Earth's from the Sun.
It
is about eight billion years old, as against the Sun's age of five
billion
years.
At first, when Swiss astronomers announced their observations on
Oct. 6,
other scientists reacted with caution, even skepticism. They believe
that
extra-solar planets may be common, but many previous announced
discoveries
had vanished upon closer examination.
Then two American astronomers, working at the Lick Observatory near
San
Jose, Calif., took a look on four nights last week and confirmed the
discovery.
In announcing the new detections of the planet, Dr. Geoffrey Marcy,
an
astronomer at San Francisco State University, said: "We've explored all
sorts
of alternative explanations, and we've had the greatest minds in
astronomy
chiming in. Nothing else explains what we see."
With these confirming detections, earlier skepticism has faded.
Other
astronomers were still puzzled by the apparent presence of such a
massive
planetary object so close to a star. They wondered if it could be a low-
mass
star or substellar object known as a brown dwarf, instead of a true
planet.
But they expressed confidence in the abilities and judgment of both
research
teams.
Dr. Stephen P. Maran, an astronomer at the Goddard Space Flight
Center
in Greenbelt, Md., said the discovery was gaining strong support among
other
astronomers. "This time it appears they have really found a planet," he
said.
Dr. David C. Black, director of the Lunar and Planetary Institute
in
Houston, said: "It's an exciting discovery. The object is probably real,
not
something that will go away on us."
Astronomers also predicted that the discovery could be only the
beginning of many others in a short time. Indeed, the weekly magazine
Science
News reported in its current issue the detection of another, much larger
planet candidate orbiting the star GL229, about 30 light-years from
Earth. (A
light-year is the distance light travels in a year, or six trillion
miles.)
The discovery was made at the Palomar Observatory in California by
astronomers from the California Institute of Technology.
Until now, the only accepted evidence for planets beyond the solar
system centered on a dead star. Three years ago, Dr. Alexander
Wolszczan, a
radio astronomer at Pennsylvania State University, detected two and
possibly
three planets orbiting not an ordinary star like the Sun, but a dense,
rapidly spinning remnant of an exploded star, known as a pulsar.
Planets of a dead star, however, are almost certainly inhospitable
to
life. But the newly discovered planet is also, astronomers said. Being
so
close to its star, the planet probably spends much of its orbit inside
the
star's outer atmosphere. The planet's temperature probably reaches 1,800
degrees Fahrenheit. If the planet was a gaseous giant like Jupiter, some
astronomers said, the heat might have long ago driven off all its
hydrogen
atmosphere.
Dr. Paul Butler, a researcher at the University of California at
Berkeley, who worked with Marcy on the confirming observations, said:
"We
don't know what the object's made of. But our back-of-the-envelope
calculations suggest that a Jupiter could hang on to its hydrogen under
those
circumstances at 51 Pegasus."
The discovery was made by Michel Mayor and Dr. Didier Queloz of the
Geneva Observatory in Switzerland and reported earlier this month at a
scientific conference in Florence, Italy.
The star is visible to the unaided eye in the Northern Hemisphere,
but
not the planet. A slight but regular wobble in the motion of 51 Pegasus
betrayed the gravitational effects of a nearby massive planet.
Butler and Marcy plan to return to Lick Observatory on Friday night
for
10 consecutive nights examining 51 Pegasus. They want to conduct longer
observations of the wobbling motions to refine their understanding of
the
planet's orbit and mass and look for the possible presence of other
planets
in the same system.
Any substantial changes in the orbital properties of the planet
could
cause significant revisions in estimates of its mass. The astronomers
conceded that further study could reveal an even greater mass for the
planet,
making it as large as or larger than Jupiter.

Accused killer Robert J. Moody continued his space alien defense
yesterday,
asking psychiatrists to repeat his claim that extraterrestrials made him
kill
two women in 1993.
The defense witnesses, however, also said Moody was a deceitful
cocaine
addict who faked symptoms of mental illness and exaggerated his belief
in
space aliens.
Moody, 36, is representing himself in a three-week trial in Pima
County
Superior Court. He faces the death penalty if convicted of two counts of
first-degree murder.
Although Moody began calling his witnesses two days ago, their
testimony
so far has revealed little of his defense strategy.
Instead of aggressively cross-examining witnesses, Moody just
shakes his
head, smirks and at times clicks his tongue when he disagrees with
testimony.
His animated expressions led to a reprimand yesterday from the judge
during a
bench conference.
While being questioned by Moody, three psychiatrists testified they
believe he is faking symptoms of mental illness to help his case. Dr.
Jack
Potts, a psychiatrist who examined Moody over three months, said Moody's
reading material in jail made him suspicious. In his jail cell, Moody
had
books on extraterrestrials, copies of state law regarding competency and
a
medical manual that defined mental illnesses and disorders, Potts said.
Dr. Barry Morenz, a psychiatrist at University Medical Center,
testified
that he also didn't believe Moody, because the murder defendant
suggested he
suffered from multiple personalities.
And Dr. John LaWall said he became convinced Moody wasn't mentally
ill
after examining him and watching video tapes of his behavior in court.
LaWall testified that Moody's stated mission involving space aliens
kept
changing. Moody's mission expanded from proving the existence of aliens
to
serving as the aliens' "messiah" to solve the world's environmental
problems,
said LaWall.
"And you find that totally implausible?" Moody asked LaWall, before
the
psychiatrist answered, "Yes."
Moody then said LaWall would probably think he was crazy if he had
told
someone in the 1920s that a man would land on the moon.
"I believe that space travel was not widely thought to be possible
in
the 1920s," LaWall responded.
In other testimony yesterday, Moody's second wife, Lauren Bennett,
called Moody a "master of deception." And his ex-girlfriend, Dora Lee
King,
read from a statement she gave police shortly after the slayings in
which she
said Moody was "whacked out of his brain."
She said Moody, a financial planner, was using crack cocaine and
selling
his belongings to support his habit in the weeks before Michelle Malone,
33,
and Patricia Magda, 56, were slain in November 1993.
King said she and Moody often bought their cocaine from Malone, and
noted Moody once became angry when Malone refused to let him pay for
cocaine
with a personal check.
Moody was arrested five weeks after the killings in Los Angeles
when he
walked into a police station saying he did not know who he was. His
fingerprints showed he was wanted for the killings.

Wisconsin, expressing my conviction that Congressmen should be
interested in
UFO secrecy as a legitimate issue. Here is [his] snail-mailed response:

telescopes in
Puerto Rico, designed to listen for extraterrestrial communications.
The
privately funded Center for UFO Studies in Chicago, Illinois also
investigates and holds archives on UFOs and extraterrestrials. Finally,
Congressman Steve Schiff (R-NM) has undertaken efforts to investigate
what is
commonly referred to as the "Roswell Incident", as you mentioned in your
Internet letter.
"I believe that the UFO phenomena is a fascinating subject and [I] will
continue to support scientific research and investigation of it,
providing it
offers a significant return on taxpayers' investment. For your review, I
have
enclosed information compiled by the Library of Congress regarding UFOs.
I
hope you find it useful.

5) ROSWELL EXPERT KARL PFLOCK IN AOL GLOBE AUD. ON OCT 26
[CNI News thanks CB TOBI for forwarding the following announcement.]
In July 1947, Glenn Dennis was working at a Roswell, New Mexico, funeral
home
and in charge of the home's military contract work with nearby Roswell
Army
Air Field. That month, as the story goes, a mysterious object landed in
Roswell. The government says it was part of an experimental program
called
Project Mogul. Others contend it was a UFO carrying aliens who were
autopsied
at the Roswell base. After initially cooperating with most UFO
researchers
who asked for interviews, Dennis has in recent years refused all
requests. He
consented, however, to speak to Pflock, relating a tale of cryptic phone
calls asking about child-size caskets and embalming procedures, a "Nurse
X"
who witnessed the alleged alien autopsy and then disappeared after
confiding
in Dennis, and military strong-arm tactics.
Mr. Pflock has been investigating the Roswell, New Mexico, "crashed-
saucer"
incident since July 1992. This work has been partially funded by a grant
from
the Fund for UFO Research, and Mr. Pflock's "Roswell in Perspective," a
195-page monograph presenting the results of his investigation through
March
1994, was published by the Fund in June 1994. Mr. Pflock is writing a
"docu-novel" based upon his Roswell research, tentatively titled GOING
HOME,
and he plans an updated, revised, expanded and retitled edition of
"Roswell
in Perspective," incorporating results of his continuing research.
In 1992, Mr. Pflock returned to full-time writing and independent
research
after 11 years of public service, during which he was a deputy assistant
secretary of defense (1985-89), a senior staff member in the U.S. House
of
Representatives (1981-85), and a strategic planning consultant to the
U.S.
Department of Energy (1989-92).
A cum laude graduate of San Jose State University (philosopy and
political
science, 1964), Mr. Pflock served in reserve components of the Marine
Corps
and Air Force (1960-66) and with the Central Intelligence Agency
(1966-72).
He resides in Placitas, New Mexico.

7) COULD THEY MAKE A SPACE HELMET BIG ENOUGH FOR THE POPE'S HAT?
[Here's the latest from our Occasional Columnist of the Weird, Bufo
Calvin.
You can reach Bufo directly at: B.CA...@GENIE.GEIS.COM]
For some reason, there is a commonly held belief out there that
organized
churches are anti-UFO and opposed to the concept of extraterrestrials.
Once
again, a theologian has said, "Hey, no problem!" This time it is the
Rev.
Piero Coda, who was asked to comment on the issue by a newsletter of an
Italian bishops' conference. "It could be an enrichment, just as
happened in
the past when European culture came into contact with worlds that had
been
absolutely unknown before," said Coda. While some religious people have
suggested that each planet might have to have had its own individual
saviour,
most of them have not had difficulty in accepting extraterrestial life.
As
for UFOs, Billy Graham suggested that some UFO sightings seemed like
angelic
visitations to him.
This is Bufo saying, "If =everything= seemed normal, that =would= be
weird!"

1) SCIENTIST WILBERT B. SMITH -- A UFO CONTACTEE?
Among students of UFO history, the name of Wilbert B. Smith is
associated
with a top-secret report written in 1950 by Smith to his superiors in
the
Canadian government, concerning U.S. government secrecy on UFOs. Saying
his
information came from Dr. Robert Sarbacher, Smith wrote, in part:
"a. The matter is the most highly classified subject in the United
States
government, rating higher even than the H-bomb.
"b. Flying saucers exist.
"c. Their modus operandi is unknown but concentrated effort is being
made by
a small group hdeaded by Dr. Vannevar BUsh.
"d. The entire matter is considered by the United States authorities to
be of
tremendous significance."
Based largely on this information and Smith's accompanying
recommendations,
the Canadian government launched its own "Project Magnet" a few months
later,
the intent of which was to study possible attributes and applications of
"flying saucer" technology. Smith was appointed "engineer in charge."
For the
next several years, Project Magnet collected a variety of UFO reports
and
conducted various studies of UFO-related technological effects. Along
the
way, Smith produced a number of secret memoranda in which he stated his
belief that UFOs were of extraterrestrial origin.
In the years since, the Canadian government has tried to downplay
Project
Magnet and Smith's work in particular. However, the release of numerous
formerly secret documents leave no doubt that the foregoing is true. [A
good
summary of Smith's work can be found in the book "Above Top Secret" by
Timothy Good.]
On October 25, 1995, ISCNI received a letter from a man claiming to have
been
a long-time friend and associate of Wilbert Smith. In this and a second
letter dated October 27, the writer claims that Smith was apparently a
UFO
contactee. To ISCNI's knowledge, this claim has not previously been made
in
public. The writer has requested anonymity (he has provided personal
information to CNI News editor Michael Lindemann) but has granted
permission
to reproduce excerpts of his letters in CNI News. If any reader has
additional information on Wilbert B. Smith, please send it directly to
ISCNI.
The following is quoted from the letters sent to ISCNI:
"Our connection with W .P. [sic] Smith is like a fairy tale. At the
time I
was giving lectures on UFOs, and had heard of Smith, but of course he
knew
nothing of my activities. One night we were working on a medical
hypnosis
project with a group of doctors (my wife as deep trance subject).
Suddenly,
without warning, my wife was pulled into a deep vortex. When she came
out at
the other end, she was given a detailed formula, which she was told was
the
time sequences as experienced on another planet. (Such as our 365-day
year,
12 months, 24 hours, etc.) No other information was received.
"What do you do when something like that shows up in a medical research
project? Well, on a hunch, the next day I took the FIRST HALF of the
formula,
and sent it by telegram to [Wilbert] Smith. Knowing his stature and
position
in the Canadian government, I did not expect to hear from him. A few
days
later I got a special delivery airmail from him. He said, 'The
information
you sent means nothing to me and I have referred it to TOP SIDE.'
"The very next day I received another special delivery airmail from him,
and
it contained the entire formula -- the half that I had sent him, and the

instructed to work together, and we did from then on. He came to Kansas
City
on one occasion, and we sent to Oklahoma on an investigation together.
"When [Smith] first was assigned to "Project Magnet," he started hearing
from
a young chap in Canada who had been born blind. The man had spent most
of his

Morse

code that were messages that he was supposed to give to Smith. Smith
used
his facilities, and with direction finders, determined that the bursts
of
code were not COMING FROM ANYWHERE ON EARTH, BUT FROM SPACE! After a
few
months the code stopped, and Smith received messages from then on thru
direct
telepathic impression. They would give him information on a specific
subject, and then give him instructions on how to manufacture a device
to
prove to himself that their information was valid.
"At one time Smith called and told me to look for small burnt spots on
my
lawn or shrub outside the house, anytime we had a UFO project going on
inside. Sure enough, we found the spots. He said they were made by
grapefruit-size sensors that were planted in areas of UFO research to
record
the proceedings in the house. We found the burnt areas on numerous
occasions.
"One time they told him that our earth has fault areas in the magnetic
force
lines. If one of our planes flies thru a fault area, and the plane
already
has a component that is under severe strain, the relaxing of the
magnetic
fields at the time of passage thru the area will allow the molecules to
literally tear apart, thus a crash. Then they taught him how to make a
device
to detect the fault areas. On several occasions, when visiting a crash
area,
his device detected magnetic faults, as described by the alien
intelligence.
As far as I know, he was in constant contact long after his year [sic]
with
PROJECT MAGNET, and probably until his death.
"When talking with Smith in those day, he talked to me about his alien
contacts in the same manner that he would have talked about any local
group
of people that he was constantly in touch with. I wish I had recordings
of
our conversations, but at that time it seemed so natural we made no
attempt
to preserve them. Also, in those days, all we had were primative wire
recorders to preserve our conversations. We got tape about the time of
our
initial contact
with him, and it was very expensive. My impression was that his
contacts
were on a very regular basis, even possibly daily, for a long peroid of
time.
I do remember him receiving information about earth time standing still
for
someone traveling at interplanetary speeds. Then they told him how to
set up
a rocket experiment with an earth time piece, and with that he confirmed
that
at the speeds his experiment achieved, the clock in the rocket did not
show
as much expired time as the clocks that were set at the same time when
it was
sent up. In almost every case, when they taught him something, they
gave him
a back up experiment to prove to himself that their information was
valid. He
had personally observed many of the grapefruit-size remote controlled
sensors
that I mentioned."
Editor's Note: If this information about Wilbert Smith is true, then one
of
the most reputable sources of information on early U.S. government UFO
secrecy turns out to be a UFO contactee who claimed years of telepathic
contact with extraterrestrials. ISCNI hopes that this information can be
corroborated by other sources in the near future.

2) BRITISH DEFENSE FILES REVEAL NEW UFO CASES
[CNI News thanks Brian Zeiler and Rebecca Schatte for sending in this
story,
which first appeared in the (London) Sunday Times on October 15, 1995.]
By Tim Kelsey and David Leppard

Dozens of incidents involving unidentified flying objects (UFOs) have
been
revealed by Ministry of Defence files kept secret for decades. They show
the
government took such reports seriously and wanted to allay public fears
about
claims of visiting alien aircraft.
One document reports that two RAF planes were sent to intercept
UFOs
over the Strait of Dover in April 1957. Two objects were seen, but the
Javelin jets were unable to track them on their radar. Fighter Command
told
ministers it believed the objects were other RAF jets on exercise.
In another case the previous year, an RAF Venom jet was sent to
intercept a UFO moving at very high speed picked up by radar. The pilot
saw
nothing, but two other aircraft scrambled in pursuit made "a momentary
contact."
In 1963, an object that looked like a flying saucer was seen
hovering by
a hangar at RAF Cosford, near Wolverhampton, by two airmen. An MoD file
records that "as they watched they saw a trap door in the upper part
slowly
open." An internal inquiry dismissed the incident as "a piece of
youthful
high spirits."
The alleged sightings are detailed in files spanning more than a
decade
which have been uncovered at the Public Records Office. They were
quietly
released by Lord Henley, a defence minister, at the end of last year.
In some cases, officials admit they can find no explanation. In
1962 the
RAF police launched an investigation after a motorist driving near Luton
in
the early hours saw "an object like a hovercraft flying approximately
30ft
above the road surface... An unknown force slowed him down to 20mph ...
then
the object suddenly flew off." Local police said they believed the
account
was genuine.
Documents already published reveal that as long ago as 1952,
Winston
Churchill, then prime minister, ordered an inquiry into UFOs. Churchill
asked in a memo to Lord Cherwell, then secretary of state for air: "What
can
it mean? What is the truth?"
Cherwell replied there was nothing to it. But later files,
including
confidential briefings about UFO sightings up to the early 1960s, show a
willingness to investigate.

The files record another incident from Christmas 1961, when four
police
officers in Hessle, Humberside, saw "a bright yellow light moving
noiselessly
across the sky." For 20 minutes they watched as it passed south of
Grimsby.
TheRAF later confirmed it had no activity in the area.
The MoD denied it had tried to suppress evidence. "We don't
indulge in
a debate on whether there is life on other planets," said a ministry
spokesman. "But there is no conspiracy... There is nobody here with
pointed
ears."

3) MICHIGAN CORNFIELD COULD BE SITE OF UFO VISIT...
[CNI News thanks Brian Zeiler and Rebecca Schatte for sending in this
story,
which first appeared in the Detroit News on October 16, 1995.]
By Tom Greenwood
Copyright 1995 The Detroit News, Inc.
Call it "Close Encounters of the Corn Kind."
Farmers near Filion, a heartbeat or two north of Bad Axe in Michigan's
Thumb,
are scratching their heads over what some believe might have been a
visit by
a UFO to a cornfield.
Scores of visitors have been drawn to the field on Thomas Road to
gape
at a strange design cut into the rows of dry, rustling corn. Seen from
the
air, the design is roughly an L-shape, with the longer, upper rectangle
rounded at each end.
The mystery deepens once inside the rectangle: At each end, there's
a
"fort" that has been constructed by folding in three or four rows of
corn
stalks at about the three foot level, forming a rough canopy that a
person
could crawl beneath.
The forts are ringed by hundreds of stalks of corn that have been
sheared off at levels varying from a few inches to about two feet off
the
ground, and the direction of the cuts vary from row to row. The upper
stalks
are missing, and the remaining sheared stalks are blackened on the end,
as if
they've been subjected to intense heat.
Nearby, piles of shucked corn litter the ground, their husks black
and
sooty compared to the light brown husks on nearby stalks. About 20 rows
to
the north, there's a second area roughly 15 by 40 feet, where the corn
has
been smashed as if crushed by a heavy weight.
There are no signs of machinery tracks entering the field at either
area.
"It's the talk of the town," said Everett Koth, who works at
Conner's
Hardware, in Filion.
"It just doesn't make sense. Some people thought kids might have
done
it, but it would have taken hours and kids just don't have that kind of
patience. Others thought it might have been hunters who wanted corn to
bait
deer. If that's the case, why the design? Why take the stalks too?"
And, as Koth noted, deer bait is available at $3 for a 50-pound
bag.
"That's a lot of work for something you can buy on almost any
corner
around here," Koth said.
The field is owned by longtime residents John and Kathy Holz. "I
found
out about it about two weeks ago when John came in from harvesting beans
and
he had this strange look on his face," Kathy Holz said. "I asked him
what was
up, and he said he couldn't explain it. He said I had to see it, so we
went
out there. It is strange, and it doesn't make any sense. Kids don't have
the
imagination to do something like this.
"There was a man out there last week who said he was an expert on
UFOs.
He said the corn was cut by lasers. That's why it's blackened on the
ends....
"I'm not saying it can't be a UFO. We've explored the moon, maybe
someone is exploring us."
Why would a UFO visit a remote cornfield in Michigan?
"Why not?" said Rita Parsch, as she sniffed a blackened stalk of
corn.
"A few years ago, my husband started acting quiet and withdrawn.
After a
few weeks, I finally got him to tell me what the the problem was. He
said he
saw something 'funny' flying through the skies one night. He turned
white as
could be when he was telling me about it.
"There's a chance it could be a UFO. I can't believe we're the
only
intelligent life form in the universe. I'm more humble than that."
After seeing the field, Parsch's friend Rita Jeffers said: "I don't
think I'll ride my bike alone after dark anymore."
Her husband, Dannie, who'd like to go for a ride in a UFO, is a
believer.
Why?
"Because I've seen UFOs before," he said.

4) DID SNOOPY REALLY WRITE MEIN KAMPF?
Weird Background on the Nazi Vril Society
[Here's the latest from our occasional Columnist of the Weird, the
inimitable
BUFO CALVIN.]
I love the stuff I find out when people ask me questions! Recently, one
of my
correspondents inquired about the "Vril Society". It had been suggested
on a
program that there had been a connection between this Nazi Germany group
and
flying saucers. I started digging (a singularly appropriate verb) and
discovered that it was a group that believed the Earth was hollow and
that
the inside was inhabited. This idea has been used by several groups and
has
been put forward as an origin for flying saucers... that they come from
the
interior of the Earth. You see, people who believe in the Einstein
Barrier
(that nothing with mass can go faster than the speed of light) find it
very

difficult to accept the idea that UFOs are extraterrestrial space ships:
the
distances are just too vast. Alternatives have been searched for,
including
hyperdimensional beings, psychic projections, and what I call
"otroterrestrials" (other beings from Earth).
What does this have to do with Charlie Brown's dog? Snoopy's literary
efforts
often start out with, "It was a dark and stormy night." This line comes
from
an author named Edward Bulwer Lytton, now generally reviled, but popular
in
his day. There is even a bad writing contest named after him. Anyway,
one
of his works was THE COMING RACE, which told of a group of super-humans
living inside the planet. They had harnessed an energy called "Vril".
They
considered dictatorship the only logical form of government. They had
sky-cars. They could affect things at a distance. They used youth in
war-like situations. My readings have indicated to me that much of Nazi
Germany may have been based on this book. There are logical
progressions
which give Hitler exposure to Bulwer Lytton's ideas. Some fellow
members of
the group The Golden Dawn apparently believed that Bulwer Lytton had
simply
fictionalized real information he had gotten from the underground
"masters".
Did Hitler really believe this stuff? A couple of different sources
told the
same story. That in 1942, Hitler had scientists point radar up at the
sky in
the belief that we were living inside a sphere (the stars, therefore,
were
holes in the firmament through which light shone). The concept was to
bounce
the radar off the sphere, thereby being able to detect enemy actions at
a
distance. For some reason, it didn't work...
One last note on this: before the modern advent of flying saucers, there
was
a mass cultural phenomenon called The Shaver Mystery. It concerned a
race of
technologically superior people living inside the Earth who had
harnessed an
energy source and...sound familiar?

1) VIDEO ANALYSTS SAY HUGE COLORADO UFOS ARE REAL
[The following is excerpted from an October 27 press release from
Village
Labs of Tempe, Arizona. For further information, contact Michael Tanner
at
(602) 439-1024.]
PHOENIX, October 27, 1995 -- The Village Labs of Tempe, Arizona, has
just
begun the review of... extraordinary UFO video footage recently recorded
by
Tim Edwards [in] Colorado. The more than six hours of 8mm videotape is
now
being logged to isolate the most unusual frames for followup analysis of
the
intense, high-altitude UFO activity taped by Edwards from September 25
to
October 2, 1995. Still photographs of the phenomena taken by Mr.
Edward's
father during this period will be analyzed parallel to the videotape for
possible corroboration and additional data. The same aerial phenomena
was
seen over a very wide area by other witnesses including those in Lamar,
Colorado, 200 miles east, as well as an aircraft mechanic in Las Vegas,
Nevada, vacationers in Baja Mexico, and lab personnel using binoculars
outside the Village Labs facility itself, all several hundred miles from
Salida [Colorado].
Tim Edwards, a restaurant operator in Salida, gained national notoriety
in
late August of this year following the daylight taping of a very large
UFO
hovering in the upper atmosphere over his home. That videotape continues
to
be the subject of in-depth study at the Village Labs after it was
concluded
that the brilliant-white, apparently cylindrical object recorded by
Edwards
was estimated to be at least a mile in length, flying at an altitude of
more
than 60,000 feet, and displaying unprecedented movements and flashing
colored
light, even for a UFO. A Village Labs staff member, formerly with the
National Security Agency (NSA) as a top-secret intelligence operative
who was
in a position to know, has classified the Edwards UFO as an "Alien
Visitation Craft," or AVC, a NSA term to designate a vehicle that is
"definitely not one of ours."
For more than an hour and within a triangular area near the mid-morning
sun,
the obviously enormous UFO exhibited rapid, darting and "dancing"
movements,
estimated to be in excess of 10,000 miles per hour by Village Labs head,
Jim
Dilettoso. The Edwards video of the huge object is to be featured in an
upcoming segment of "Sightings," the internationally syndicated
television
show on the paranormal. This first Edwards footage represents images as
significant as anything ever recorded in the entire annals of the UFO
history
which includes tens of thousands of reports, according to Eric Gardner,
the
"Sightings" field director who interviewed Tim Edwards at the scene in
Salida.
As it is virtually unheard of for the same witness to record genuine UFO
activity more than once on film or tape, skepticism of Edwards' recent
footage has been the typical reaction of investigators already involved
in
analyzing his first encounter. Of this latest UFO activity captured on
videotape, however, Edwards related, "This time, with dozens of
witnesses
here [in] Salida and many others that were hundreds, even thousands of
miles
away that I have talked directly to over the phone, there is no denying
that
something very unusual has been going on up there... it's not just me,
my
family and a few others here like it was the first time in August".
Controversy has already begun to swirl around Edwards' latest video
footage,
being written-off by skeptics as purely natural phenomena of some kind
including flying insects, spider webs, cottonwood spores or other types
of
seasonal, airborne debris. Eyewitnesses to this new phenomena, on the
other
hand, have taken an entirely different view, as the activity is
described as
occurring obviously at very high altitude and definitely not at low
levels

where organic material is commonplace at times and easily identified as
such.
Authoritative scientific help has been requested by Edwards and certain
investigators from the Astronomy Department at the University of
Colorado at
Boulder as well as the National Observatory at Kitt Peak in Arizona, but
no
response was had to [this request to] witness first-hand the phenomena
and
offer alternative explanations such as unusual meteorological conditions
or
sunspot-related activity. There is evidence to suggest that very strong
resistance from the mainstream scientific community to delve into the
UFO
question remains in order to avoid the risk of ridicule or experience
the
loss of credibility or professional standing.
An ongoing investigation by Michael Curta, Colorado State Director of
the
Mutual UFO Network (MUFON), so far has revealed that an "identical" UFO
was
seen earlier that same Sunday morning of August 27th by two witnesses in
Grand Junction, Colorado, some 200 miles west of Salida. The witnesses,
local
radio disc jockeys, [said] that two small objects shot down from the
large
craft and streaked into a nearby mountain, resulting in bright flashes,
but
with no audible sound. Mr. Curta is also still seeking seven witnesses
who
called in reports on that same date to the Astronomy Department of the
University of Colorado at Boulder to come forward once again as their
reports
were "lost." The media is being asked to announce such and request that
those
individuals (or any other witnesses) to contact MUFON directly at (303)
451-5992.
Interestingly, the National UFO Reporting Center has disclosed that an
unusual rash of UFO sightings with great variety continues to occur
nationally, the current "flap" having begun in July just prior to Tim
Edwards' first video encounter of the huge object in the Colorado skies
two
months ago today. Since then, Peter Davenport, head of the Seattle,
Washington-based operation has recounted reports involving the sightings
of
"thousands of UFOs at a time," from the East Coast to West Coast and
many
locations in between. In view of this heightened UFO activity and the
recent
release of the purported alien autopsy from the Roswell, New Mexico
saucer
crash incident and other such "leaks," many experts in the UFO field are
now
predicting that the U.S. government will finally acknowledge officially
in
the months to come, after a lengthy "conditioning process," the reality
of
beings and their spacecraft from other worlds visiting our planet.
As is the case with the August videotape, testing of the latest Edwards
UFO
footage at the Village Labs will include in-depth thermal and motion
studies,
image enhancement and enlargement as well as computer graphics
simulations of
the UFO events based on a spectrum of data collected and the results of
analysis. Dr. Bruce Maccabee of MUFON and other qualified experts such
as
former NASA scientist Dr. Jack Kasher of the University of Nebraska in
Omaha,
are being provided with first-generation copies of the Edwards video
footage
and being invited to join in the scientific evaluation of his unique UFO
video and photographic evidence.
Tim Edwards is anxiously awaiting the results of the experts' analysis
as he
firmly believes that the world needs to be convinced of the reality of
what
he himself has now experienced first-hand. "The first experience was
truly
awesome... I truly felt at the time that I was witnessing something of
great
scientific and historic importance for the world... I believe that the
August
27th craft was sending a message to the world and wanted to be
photographed... that its appearance was somehow just the beginning of
more to
come... and that I was really blessed to be a part of it."
Results of the ongoing analysis of the Edwards video footage will be
released
to the media, as they are conclusive. The Village Labs is an advanced
digital
video technology design and engineering company... Village Labs founder
and
president, Jim Dilettoso, is a computer scientist and recognized
authority on
film and video image analysis technologies and their applications to
purported UFO evidence, and has appeared as an expert on numerous radio
talk
shows and television programs including "Sightings," "Encounters" and
"Unsolved Mysteries" as well as "UFO Encounter" on the Disney Channel
and the
Discovery Channel's upcoming series, "Mysteries, Magic, and Miracles."

2) UNUSUAL UFO ACTIVITY NEAR LOGAN, OHIO
[CNI News thanks Paul Burrell (pbur...@freenet.columbus.oh.us) for the
following story.]
Tuesday night, October 24, near the town of Logan, Ohio, a man [who
wishes to
remain anonymous] was walking his dog on Rt. 93 about 8:00. He noticed
red
lights dancing in the cornfield across the street from his house. There
were
from 10 to 20 at a time, and he describes them as being like bright
stars
and blinking when they moved. Some were low but did not touch the
ground;
some were as high as a quarter-mile up. The lights moved erratically,
some
fading in and out. After viewing this for about 10 minutes and deciding
whether or not to call the sheriff, he saw one of the lights veer off
from
the rest of the group and follow a car on Rt. 93. It kept pace with the
car
from behind, out of the occupants' field of view. Then the light
stopped
about 100 yards short of a neighboring house, and the car continued on.
At
that point, the witness decided that was enough and called the Sheriff's
Department.
[The police] treated his call seriously, and by about 8:20 a deputy
arrived
and the lights were still in the field. He filled out a report. By this
time, the man had alerted his family and neighbors, who were all
witnessing
the same event. The deputy stayed about 15 minutes, and while he was
there he

and the witness heard a wheezing sound from the side of the witness'
house.
He said the sound had a definite pattern to it. The deputy said he
thought it
was only a deer. The witness has been an avid trophy hunter for years
and
says he's never heard a deer make that kind of sound.
About 9:00, after the deputy had left, the witness called his father to
tell
him what was going on and while on the phone, he heard a loud thumping
noise
from outside. He ran outside and saw a helicopter coming their
direction
from the south. It was traveling slowly at a low altitude. It made a
sweep
of the area and left. About five minutes later, two small propeller
planes
arrived in the area and began a criss-crossing search pattern of the
area.
The lights remained in the field and at one point, one of them again
left the
group and went up to the plane as if checking it out. The lights stayed
in
the field and the planes continued their search pattern past midnight,
when
the witness needed to go to bed.
When he returned home late from work the next night, one plane was still
criss-crossing the area, although there were no lights that night.
WBNS-TV in Columbus, Ohio, did a report on the 11:00 news Wednesday
night
(Oct 25). The reporter, Marcie Flesher, interviewed the witness on
camera,
but the report as broadcast did not include the lights chasing the car
and
going up to the plane. The reporter did say that the Ohio National
Guard,
the FAA and Wright-Patterson AFB all said there were no planes in the
area.
The report also showed the Hocking County Sheriff's Department radio
log,
which mentions two UFO reports that evening, the other near Rt. 664, not
far
from Rt. 93 South.
The Roundtown UFO Society of Circleville, Ohio and the Mid-Ohio Research
Associates of Columbus are investigating the case and have talked to the
witness. [Paul Burrell will send] more details on this as it develops.

appeared in ORTK Forum vol 3 #3 (spring/summer 1995). CNI News finds the
reported words of AFOSI Agent Richard Doty to be at variance with
previously
reported information from researcher Linda Howe -- who says, for
example,
that Doty did indeed show her a secret memorandum in his office at
Kirtland
AFB in 1983, though he denies this allegation below. In general, CNI
News
cautions readers that Doty may have engaged in dissemination of
disinformation during his time with AFOSI, and the following information
is
therefore questionable.]
by Dan Pinchas
ORTK Forum
The following is excerpted from an e-mail interview I conducted with
controversial former Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI)
Special Agent Richard Doty over a two-week period in the Spring [1995].
Readers may recall that Special Agent Doty was heavily involved in the
so-called Bennewitz Affair, was (is) an alleged member of the "aviary,"
and
had an extraordinary meeting regarding UFOs with researcher Linda Howe
at
Kirtland AFB in 1983, discussed in more detail below. Doty graciously
agreed
to answer questions I put to him regarding his knowledge of Roswell, the
Holloman AFB landing, and other topics. He has given permission for his
remarks to be printed in the Forum.
On meeting Linda Howe in 1983:
Doty: Yes, Linda and I met in April 1983 at the OSI Office, KAFB, but,
no, I
didn't show her any Carter Briefing Documents. She showed me a document.
I
listened to Linda and then advised her of the official USAF statement on
UFOs. I maintained contact with Linda for about two years, but I did not
show
her any official classified government documents. [Note: CNI News
regards
this last statement as not true. Also, CNI News has information that
Doty
contacted Linda Howe within the past year.]
On the Roswell crash:
Doty: First of all, there were six aliens in the craft that crashed in
Roswell in 1947. Five died and one lived for three years. That is fact!
I've
read the official report and that's stated in the report. An alien
spacecraft
crashed in the New Mexican desert in July 1947. An alien was recovered
and
lived for three years. Five alien bodies were recovered. The same aliens
returned in 1964 and all alien bodies were returned. To the best of my
knowledge, these aliens have not returned.
Whitley [Strieber] also interviewed my uncle, a retired USAF Colonel,
who was
involved in the investigation of UFOs [Project Blue Book]. I told
Whitley
exactly the same information. I also told him that the government has
thoroughly investigated abductions and determined they were not real. I
respect your opinions and others; however, you don't know what I know! I
have
had the access during my OSI career. I've seen the evidence and have
actually
collected the evidence.
On the Holloman AFB landing:
Doty: Regarding the landing of a UFO at Holloman AFB, NM on April 25,
1964,
yes, it did happen. The only exchange that occurred was us giving back
the
six alien bodies. In an exchange of good will, the aliens provided us
with
several "items" of advanced technology. No further comment on that. Yes,
I

have information that Mr. [Robert] Emenegger [author of "UFOs Past,
Present

government backed off on their offer to assist [Emenegger was promised
official government film to be used in a film version of "UFOs Past,
Present
and Future." Though Emenegger was permitted to view the film, he was
subsequently not allowed to use it. Emenegger has stated that he does
believe
a landing occurred at Holloman.]
On the Kecksburg, PA crash:
Doty: The Kecksburg 1965 incident was a crash of a then Soviet
Satellite.
That information is readily available at the National Archives. I know
of no
other alien crash known about by the U.S. government. There is more
evidence
that the Kecksburg incident was not a UFO incident. Interviews of state
troopers recently revealed the troopers observed the writings on the
object,
which one stated was "Russian" writing. Russian writing could easily be
confused with hieroglyphic.
On the Aztec and Kingman crashes:
Doty: The Aztec incident in '48 was a hoax. There was no crash nor was
there
any creditable evidence to support a crash. I know of no crash or
alleged
crash in or near Kingman in 1953.
On the UFO cover-up:
Doty: Regarding the alleged cover-up, I don't know the government's
reason. I
am no longer employed by the government nor am I a spokesman for the
government. I really don't know. As far as the government's alleged
effort to
hide information, there was a disinformation operation, but that is all
I can
say.

4) UFO LINK TO COW CARCASS HORROR IN IRELAND
[CNI News thanks Terry Colvin for the following story. Terry notes that
this
story appeared in the UK paper "Sunday Life" on October 29. He states
further: "What is remarkable is that such a story appeared in such a
newspaper. The Sunday Life is a paper which, though being tabloid sized,
shys
away from the traditional Sunday tabloid diet of sexy stories and
outrageous
shocks. Last year or the year before it was named UK Regional Newspaper
of
the Year. The fact that such a story appears in such a mainstream paper
I
think is part of a more general trend towards interest in unusual
phenomena
in mainstream society."]
A grisly animal mutilation at a County Down [Ireland] farm is being
connected
with UFO sightings in the area.
Several people in South Armagh and Omeath have reported seeing a large
circular ball of light in the evening sky. At the same time the UFO
research
group QUEST was contacted by a farmer in Carnlough who reported the
mutilation of one of his cows. Miles Johnston from Quest said: "The cow
carcass had been drained of blood, the flesh had been removed from its
head
and its vital organs were gone.
"The organs were sucked out through a clean incision made by some hi-
tech
laser device."
"This is the first case of its kind in Northern Ireland but it has
happened
to thousands of animals in the US and Britain."

1) WHITE HOUSE ALIEN POLICY
[Reprinted from "Common Cause," Fall 1995]
By Deborah Lutterbeck
The White House has been accused of fumbling on foreign policy and
veering in
all directions on its domestic agenda. As if that's not enough, there
may
now be trouble on the final frontier. Some very persistent people--
including
one named Rockefeller--are upset because they say the President is
keeping
government secrets about UFOs and alien life.
UFO enthusiasts, concerned scientists and cosmic conspirators have been
demanding documentation on the government's extraterrestrial
intelligence for
decades, but Laurance Rockefeller is trying a new tack: money. Lots of
it.
Rockefeller, great-grandson of John D. and nephew of Nelson, has
contributed
some $700,000 to the Human Potential Foundation, a nongovernmental UFO
watchdog. The foundation, in turn, publicizes stories of
extraterrestrial
life; it gave almost $200,000 to John Mack M.D., a psychiatrist, Harvard
professor and Pulitzer Prize-winning author, so he could study people
who say
they have run with the aliens. In "Abduction," Mack relates their tales
of
space travel, space ships, alien insemination and worse.
The foundation also offers this political prognosis: "The new
congressional
majority [may] hang this issue on the President," Human Potential's
Scott
Jones warned in a letter to the White House. "He need not be politically
damaged by this, but the old policy will have to be changed in a hurry."
(Right. Maybe in warp time.)
While the administration has yet to go cosmic, in April 1994, the Air
Force
did release some 900 pages on the big daddy of all so-called UFO "cover-
ups":
the Roswell Incident. Rockefeller says many believe that this incident
"marks the beginning of government secrecy about UFOs."
Roswell became national news back in 1947, when a New Mexico tenant
farmer
named Mac Brazel found some strange-looking stuff in a pasture. In what
was
either a major public relations faux pas or a slip of the truth, Roswell
Army
Air Base personnel collected the debris and pronounced it a flying
saucer. It
took them only 24 hours to retract the statement.
But the stories of alien visitors persisted. Respected citizens reported
sightings of a flying disk and strange blue lights. It was rumored that
as
many as four alien bodies had been collected and spirited away to a
secret
holding pen at a Texas Air Force base.
The Air Force tried to put the controversy to rest last year with an
official
report claiming that what was found in Roswell was a radar target that
looked
like a weather balloon. Unconvinced, a UFO newsletter called "The
Monitor"
asked, "How could such a lasting mystique have developed around Roswell
had
there been no more to the story than the crash of a weather balloon?"
As for the aliens, the Air Force said, "The review of Air Force records
did
not locate even one peice of evidence to indicate that the Air Force has
had
any part in an 'alien' body recovery operation or continuing cover-up."
(Maybe they had gone home.)
Cosmic citizens want to know more, but a General Accounting Office (GAO)
study, "Results of a Search for Records Concerning the 1947 Crash Near
Roswell, New Mexico," is unlikely to satisfy true new-dimensions
believers.
There's no question that Rockefeller's access and money have helped
prompt a
more open government policy on UFOs. But so far no one in the
administration
wants to speak on the record about it, much less use it as a platform.
The
Air Force and the White House both declined to be interviewed on the
subject.

Late in the afternoon of Saturday, August 19, 1995, Dr. R. L.*, with the
down
the inner half of the big toe of a patient who was lying on her back.
Patricia Connely*, a former abductee, was about to undergo an
exploratory
surgery to remove two anomalous foreign objects which were lodged in her
big
toe. Mike Evans was focusing his video camera on the area being incised
thus
recording the entire proceedings for posterity. A direct, live video
feed
was being sent to a 12-inch TV monitor in a room adjacent to the
operating
room, where six to seven people, myself included, sat in eerie silence
watching the proceedings in living color. I can state, with a degree of
certainty, that none of us had ever witnessed an event quite like this.
Through the use of hypnosis, Mrs. Connely had been rendered partially
unconscious by Mr. Derrel Sims, a certified hypno-anesthesia therapist;
then,
Dr. L. injected a massive dose of local anesthesia into the toe to
assure
the patient would feel no pain. Working from three x-rays, which had
clearly
shown the location of the anomalous foreign objects, the two doctors
cut,
probed and dissected the tissue until the first object was felt by Dr.
L.
holding a narrow forceps. As the object was removed from the incision,
the
patient reacted by verbally uttering an exclamation. It was later
learned
that the object was directly connected to a nerve, thus causing the
patient
pain when the object was severed from the connecting tissue.
The first object extracted was a small, triangular object, measuring
about
11/2 cm on each side. Because the object appeared opaque in the x-rays,
it
was assumed to be of a substance other than bone. The object was
photographed
in extreme close-up by Mr. Evans' video camera, plus a series of still
In order to remove the second object, a new incision was made on the
opposite
half of the same toe. The doctors spent considerable time probing in an
attempt to pinpoint the second object. When extracted, it was smaller
than
the first object, but appeared, at least to the naked eye, to be of the
same
material. Once it was photographed and deposited in the sterile
receptacle,
the patient's incisions were stitched up, and her foot bathed in an
antiseptic solution which turned her skin purple. The foot was securely
wrapped in a protective bandage. When Mrs. Connely was awakened, she
reported feeling no pain whatsoever from the surgery. As she walked
gingerly
from the room, a call was made to summon a second patient, Mr. Pat
Patillo*.
Using the same techniques, the doctors operated on the left hand of Mr.
Patillo and eventually extracted a seedlike foreign object. Like the
others,
it was small, measureing about 4 mm x 2 mm. The only verbal utterance
from
Mr. Patillo came when the object was excised from the tissue, which
later was
determined to have been attached to a nerve. The object and some
connecting
tissue were duly preserved in the same type of sterile receptacles. Mr.
Patillo's hand was stitched up, swabbed in an antiseptic solution, then
securely bandaged. Mr. Patillo reported feeling no pain.
The specimens were given to Derrel Sims, who upon his return to Texas,
will
hand-deliver them to the University of Houston for analysis using an
electron
microscope, plus a spectroscope for quantitative analysis. Then the
specimens will be x-rayed and ultimately sent to Dr. David Pritchard at
M.I.T. for a complete analysis. The final results from testing of the
objects may not be available for several weeks. Dr. L. will be in
contact
with Mr. Sims who will forward the results of the tests. The video
tape,
which was given to Mr. Sims, will be professionally edited and titled,
then a
copy returned to Dr. L.
These extraordinary surgeries were the final result of a casual
converation
between Dr. L. and Derrel Sims. They first met at the UFO Expo West
conference this past June. During the course of their conversation, Mr.
Sims
told Dr. L. that he was aware of two Houston residents who had implants
of
foreign objects in their hands and feet. After Dr. L. viewed the x-
rays of
trhe two individuals, which confirmed the statements of Mr. Sims, he
volunteered to perform the necessary surgery for removal of the objects.
The
two individuals readily agreed to the operation, but lacked the funds
for the
roundtrip from Houston to Los Angeles. Mr. Sims located a pilot who,
upon
hearing the details of the proposed surgery, immediately offered to pay
for
two round-trip air tickets.
Both Mrs. Connely and Mr. Patlilo had previously approached Mr. Sims to
discuss their experiences with extraterrestrial phenomena. Mrs. Connely

abducted approximately 27 years ago, but only recently became aware of
the
foreign anomalous objects in her foot. Mr. Patlilo, at the age of six,
walked out of his house into a field, and saw a UFO; a round object, the
size
of a basketball approached him. As he turned to move away from it, the
object exploded and embeddeda piece of metal into his left hand.
Patricia
Connely and Pat Patilo had no prior surgeries in the area where the
objects
were removed. Until the x-rays revealed the location of the foreign
objects,
neither individual was aware of their existence.
In conclusion, there are two significant questions that remain
unanswered:
What are the objects made of?
How did the implants become embedded in the hands and feet of these
two
individuals?

The Enigma Files: The True Story of America's Psychic Warfare Program
By Ed Conroy
What happens when an award-winning veteran reporter begins to
investigate the
U.S. military's psychic warfare operations?
Ask Jim Marrs.
As the author of the "New York Times" bestseller "Crossfire," one of two
books principally utilized by director Oliver Stone in writing the
script for
the film "JFK," Marrs is an expert at uncovering connections among
complex
governmental games-players.
Now, three years after embarking on a new odyssey into the rarified
realm of
"remote viewing," Jim Marrs is going public with the contents of his new
book, "The Enigma Files: The True Story of America's Psychic Warfare
Program." In it, he reveals astonishing details of how CIA and military
psychic espionage operations have confirmed, beyond a shadow of doubt,
the
human mind's ability to transfer itself, anywhere in space and time, to
read
and communicate detailed information from even the most unimaginable
locations.
According to Marrs, the "psi-spies" not only succeeded in gaining access
to
classified Soviet files through psychic means, but verified the
existence of
UFOs as intelligently piloted alien spacecraft. Nor did they stop
there...
Has Jim Marrs suddenly lost the skeptical approach and critical
abilities
that won him the Aviation/Aerospace Writer's Association's National
Writing
Award, "Freedom" magazine's 1993 Human Rights Leadership Award, and the
1991
Newsmaker of the Year Award from the Fort Worth Chapter of the Society
for
Professional Journalists?
Or has he provided the public with enough information to start making
use of
"remote viewing" and verify its practicality through their own efforts?
You be the judge.
Jim Marrs is well known to many residents of the Dallas-Ft. Worth
metroplex,
having formerly reported for the "Ft. Worth Star Telegram," where he
worked
his way up from the police beat to investigative work on special
assignments,
including trips to Europe and the Middle East. It was that background
that
put him into a unique position to interview many of the central figures
in
the JFK assassination.
What was it, though, that led Marrs into investigating psychic
espionage?
"I was attending one of Dr. Rima Laibow's TREAT conferences," he said,
"and I
met a certain individual who, in the talk he gave, spoke with unusual
certainty and authority on the subject of UFOs."
Upon further inquiry, Marrs learned that this gentlman had been a
government
"psi-spy," part of an operation code-named GRILL FLAME. That project
developed out of research into remote viewing initally conducted at the
Stanford Research Institute (SRI) by Drs. Harold Puthoff and Russell
Targ.
"As it happened, I found out that a number of ex-psy-spies had formed a
company called 'Psi-Tech,'" Marrs said. "I got in touch with them, and
found
that they were interested in seeing a book on this subject for the
general
public."
Marrs realizes that the stories told to him by his interviewees--which
include accounts of remote viewing of the Cydonia region of the planet
Mars--might sound to a reasonably skeptical individual like tabloid
magazine
fantasies.
Ironically, the October 10, 1995, edition of "The National Examiner" ran
a
small headline that read "CIA USES PSYCHICS TO STEAL FOREIGN SECRETS."
According to Russell Targ, Ph.D., that article was correct in quoting
him as
saying that the CIA had recently released to him documents which verify
that
his reserach at SRI was funded by the CIA. He also asserted that about

20percent of the article was "pure fiction," particularly its mention of
what
Targ referred to as a "space howitzer" which presumably was designed to
send
U.S. missiles into a space-time warp.
As it happened, this tabloid news story, mixing fact and nonfact,
appeared
about two months after Jim Marrs received news from his publisher,
harmony
Books (a subsidiary of Random House), that they were canceling
publication of
"The Enigma Files."
According to Targ, the "Examiner" article was sparked by an interview in
the
"London Evening Standard" with journalist Jim Schnabel, who has also
written
a just-published expose of psychic espionage. Schnabel has been
described by
some as a debunker of the crop circle phenomenon, as well as alien
abductions.
Is Marrs' book "The Enigma Files" now itself subject to a disinformation
campaign? Have the players in the game of psychic espionage decided to
jump
ship and expose as many of their secrets as possible? Or is Marrs the
tool of
advanced beings who wish to help humanity evolve beyond the limits of
space
and time?
You be the judge.

Media Watch Volume 11.5 October 30, 1995 A department of the ISCNI News
Center
Compiled and edited by Rebecca Schatte
Due to this being Halloween week and the unusual number of programs
dealing
with CNI-related topics, this edition of "Media Watch" doesn't claim to
list
*everything* -- but here's more than enough to choose from!
THE SILVER SCREEN...
A new movie, "Powder," is currently in theaters nationwide. Although I
have
not had an opportunity to view it yet, it appears to be about a young
man who
wears strange makeup and has some sort of strange, perhaps telekinetic
powers. I will try to see "Powder" this week and report on it soon. In
the
meantime, if any of you have seen it or any good CNI-related movies
lately, I
would enjoy hearing about them! Email me.
TELEVISION...
I have received a press release from NBC that tells me of a new TV movie
will
be airing on Nov. 27. "Visitors of the Night" stars Markie Post and
Candace
Cameron as a mother and daughter who appear to be experiencers. More on
this
as the date nears.
As a tie-in to this movie, many local TV stations will be doing
concurrent
abduction- or UFO-related news segments during their early- and late-
edition
news shows. I know of several in major markets that are working on such
segments right now!
Don't forget it is the sweeps ratings period during November, and you
should
be seeing more than the usual amount of CNI-related TV programs. CNI
usually
means increased ratings for broadcasters, so they usually schedule these
types of programs during one of the sweeps periods.
The French TV network, TF1 garnered huge ratings for its "Jacques Pradel
Show" that aired last Monday evening in France. They have uncovered some
potentionally explosive information concerning Mr. Santilli and his
alleged
alien autopsy film. See the October 26th edition of CNI News for
additional
details.
SYNDICATED SHOWS...

--"Babylon 5"--The year 2029 draws to a close in the second-season
finale,
which features a thrilling confrontation with the Centauri. In addition
to
stellar special effects, there are also several major revelations.
--"Baywatch"--Yes! "Baywatch" has an episode about UFO believers who are
camping out on the beach anticipating a sighting. I wonder if these
believers
resemble the believers I am familiar with, or will they resemble
"Baywatch"
believers?
--"Flipper"--Drs. Ricks and Blondsel tail kidnappers who have nabbed
Flipper
(OH NO!) and spirited him to Cuba (double OH NO!)--where he's to be the
featured attraction in a hotel's water show! Part one of two.
--"Ricki Lake"--On Monday 10/30 Ricki is having a Halloween special that
will
include psychics and lord knows what else, considering some of her other
bizarre shows!
--"Sightings"--Air traffic controllers and UFO reports; using a psychic
detective to locate missing people.
MONDAY 10/30
6:25 pm ET. Showtime (SHO)--"Charley's Ghost Story"--Cheech Marin of
Cheech
and Chong fame, stars as the spirit of a Spanish conquistador, who
guides a
young boy who has been neglected by his father.
7:25 pm ET. The Movie Channel (TMC)--"The Legend of Hell House"--Horror
tale
about four investigators seeking psychic phenomena in a haunted mansion.
8:00 pm ET. UPN --"Star Trek: Voyager"--The Voyager crosses into Bothan
space
and crew members find repressed thoughts coming back to life while
people
from their pasts reappear. Only Kes and Doctor are immune, and they must
lead
the ship to safety.
9:00 pm ET. UPN --"Nowhere Man"--While looking into Dr. Bellamy's
mysterious
research project at a New England prep school, Veil helps the local
sheriff
investigate the suicide of a student who didn't conform to the ways of
the
community. If you have not seen this show, give it a chance! It is
excellent.
10:00 pm ET (also Tuesday at 12:30 pm ET and early Wednesday at 5:30 am
ET).
American Movie Classics (AMC)--"Dr. Cyclops"--Vivid effects mark this
movie,
which was among the first sci-fi thrillers to be produced in color
(1940).
Albert Dekker stars as a crazed scientist who shrinks people to
miniature
size.
11:30 pm ET. AMC--"The Incredible Shrinking Man"--It must be miniature-
people
night! This one gets FIVE stars! An average American is exposed to a
radiation "haze" and suddenly starts shrinking. Soon relatively mundane
tasks
become fraught with danger.
1:00 am ET (also on Tuesday at 3:30 pm ET). AMC--"When Worlds Collide"--
This
one got an Oscar for special effects and comes highly recommended from
several people. This is the story of a rogue planet on a collision
course
(can you say Hale-Bopp?) with Earth and the efforts to allow a handful
of
humans to escape.
12:30 am ET (Time varies in many cities; please check local listings).
CBS--"Tom Snyder"--Tom interviews Leonard Nimoy. Do ya'll miss the "good
ol'
days" of Tom Snyder as much as I do?
TUESDAY 10/31 BOO! Happy Halloween!
2:40 am ET. Cinemax (MAX)--"Beach Babes From Beyond"-- They're back! An
alien

Media Watch Volume 12.1 November 6, 1995 A department of ISCNI News
Center
Compiled and edited by Rebecca Schatte
Greetings, one and all, to yet another Media Watch! It has been a nasty,
wet,
and chilly week here in Houston, TX. I hope you have had nicer weather
wherever you are! But what better weather to stay home and watch TV or
read
a book! So we're off to another Media Watch...
Dave Roehrig, segment producer for "Alien Autopsy: Fact or Fiction"
announced
last week that FOX would be doing another autopsy show on November 25,
however, he will not discuss any details about the show.
TELEVISION...
NBC will be airing a new made-for-TV movie at the end of the month,
called
"Visitors of the Night." There will be many tie-ins through local news
programs so keep your eyes on NBC for some interesting things.
Markie Post ("Hearts Afire," "Someone She Knows") and Candace Cameron
("Full
House") star in "Visitors of the Night" as mother and daughter in this
unsettling sci-fi thriller in the tradition of "Close Encounters of the
Third
Kind" and "Rosemary's Baby." Dale Midkiff ("Time Trax") also stars. It
will
be telecast on Monday Night at the Movies, November 27 (9-11 p.m. ET).
[You
have a little time to make preparations!! ]
"Visitors of the Night has some prominent people that were instrumental
in
getting the project off the ground. Ann Daniel ("Sightings") is the
executive
producers for Ann Daniel Productions. Jorge Montesi directs, this
original
screenplay by Michael J. Murray ("Honor Thy Father & Mother: True Story
of
the Menendez Murders"). Dick O'Connor ("Fall from Grace: The Jim and
Tammy
Bakker Story") is the producer.
Ever since she was a child, Judith Heald (Post) has had disturbing
nightmares
about strange creatures and other worldly experiences. Now, she is
worried
about her teenage daughter, Katie (Candace Cameron, "Full House"), who
is
behaving strangely, spacing out in school and sneaking out of the house
late
at night. Bizarre things are also happening in their quiet rural town as
well--things that Sheriff Marcus Ashbee (Midkiff), Judith's childhood
friend,
suspects are just teenage pranks. When Judith seeks help from a
hypnotherapist, she begins to unlock some frightening memories. She
thinks
she might be losing her mind until the nightmares become all too real.
In
the shocking conclusion, she and Katie must face together the fears that
have
terrified her for years.
"Visitors of the Night" features animatronic aliens and special effects
created by Steve Johnson at XFX Inc. Steve's credits include the
creatures
for the feature film "The Abyss" and the Showtime movie "Roswell," as
well as
the current Engergizer commercials.
Look for this movie on NBC on November 27, 1995 at 9:00 pm ET.
SYNDICATED SERIES...
Check local listings for times and channels in your area.
--"Babylon 5"--As the third season begins, Sheridan aids the Rangers,
who are
blockaded by the Centauri at a secret training base; an intelligence
officer
investigates Keffer's sighting of the Shadow vessel.

that
Cinemax will be running at the end of the week.]

25
years fighting the enemy, saves Veil's life and forces him to take an
enlightening road trip that illustrates the consequences of spending a
lifetime on the run.

5
million years ago, humans and chimpanzees followed the same path of
