The airfield was shut for a couple of hours. I was dropping the eaves on
their atc and heard them declare the fieield losed due to an incident. Then
the police and helimed turned up, and the comments heard was they have
reached the cockpit and are getting him out, and later, its good to see him
up and about now, as the Police chopper went away after photo documenting
the site.
The Apex news copter was not allowed in and had to sit hovering outside
taking long distance pictures.
The Helimed refuelled and left so I'd imagine the guy was taken by ground
ambulance, as if he was walking about he was not badly injured. Since no
actual mention was made of what sort of incident it was and I heard nothing
on local stations, I suppose the are crashes that killed people lately won
out in the news stakes.

Not been a good weekend for hairycraft has it?

A Gnat went earthwards yesterday killing the pilot and there were
another four fatalities when an executive jet crash landed in a car
auction place at Blackbushe.

"Scotland Yard said that no-one else was on board when the single seater
plane crash landed."

Well, they would say that, wouldn't they?

If it was a single seat plane its bleedin obvious.
the police chopper was there very quickly but never landed, it was using
its special cameras to record the scene apparently for the investigators.
The air ambulance attended bt left after refueling for another job.
Only emergency aircraft movements allowed in the zone hence the waving off
of the reporters, who were quite peristent at trying to get a change of
mind.
So was the plane repairable? These are now very old aircraft and prone to
reliability issues of course.

Not convinced. The number of failures per flying hour are probably much better than during the previous great unpleasantness

They don't have so many people shooting at them now.

The current pilots have also had much more training. Also diagnostic
checks are probably more thorough these days.

He might have been Jericho the Liger, Cecil's half-brother ;-)

The demonised one was wealthy too. That's how he funded his private
war against the infidels.

Engine failures happen most often during takeoff because that is the
only time that they are usually expected to produce maximum power.
