This evening's FAB folk and Blues Show is mostly made up from
suggestions from ye shedd. It is a repeat (beg y'pardon) of a show that
went to air a couple of years ago, and several sheddi names are taken in
vain.

tempofm.co.uk 9-11pm rightpondian time.

Do you have a little linky for that? I'm seldom organised enough to
listen to anything live these days and I suppose the reason that it
hasn't appeared at the top of the mixcloud list is because, as you
say, it's a couple of years old.

Ta!

You are well come, Nickel Arse.

I'm off dahn sarf for a few days. Tiz my old mum's 101st birthday at the
weekend.

Beth and Big John Burrows are hosting this Friday's FAB in my absence
and I'm resting the midday show for a few weeks. Too much commitment
during summer months.

If, as you say in the prog, I was in Buenos Aires at the time I think
this is the first time I've heard this episode all the way through and
there were lots of nice surprises, thank you!

Your playout track reminded me of Eric Clapton and Edge of Darkness
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bfPS7p6Z1k Before Edge of Darkness, I
liked Eric Clapton and felt even the moniker "God" didn't do him
enough justice. But on Edge of Darkness he showed that he wasn't
merely God: he was the Samuel Beckett of the guitar - a player who
didn't only know how to play the all notes but knew where the spaces
belonged as well.

Rick Saunders earlier on. Well, last week I'd been listening to The
Albion Band play Gresford Disaster and of course Rick's wah-wah violin
is really centre stage in that one:

"It occurred in the month of September." As it happens, 22nd
September, eighty-seven years ago. Don't suppose you've got space for
an eleven minute track on the anniversary, have you?

Thanks again, Tone,

Nick

Would you prefer the show on Fri 17th or 24th?

And where are you now, Nick?

Whether your old mum is a sweet angelic creature or a cantankerous old
bat or all of that or none of that, it's a very special time to be
together and I wish you both well.

If Andrew Neil can do it.....

Wish her many happy returns from a Sheddi, IYWBSK.

To err is human. To really foul things up requires a computer and the BOFH.

The 24th is nearer. I wasn't sure you'd take that seriously because 11
minutes (10'52" But who's quibbling over a few seconds?[1]) is a huge
amount of airtime during which you might lose listeners for whom it's
not to their taste

'Uddersfield. Since last November and for the forseeable. Their
country isn't letting anybody in from anywhere that isn't either a
resident or a citizen and our country isn't letting anybody in from
there unless they have a jolly good reason and £2285 to hand over to
the authorities.

Nick
[1]Red rag to a bull, eh, Tone? I imagine "a few seconds" in radio
terms is a bit like "a few millimetres, give or take" to a luthier.

It's s specialist folk show, Nick. If folky listeners can't take 11 mins
of The Albion Band then they're tuned to the wrong show.

I've played Arlo Guthrie's Alice Restaurant a couple of times!

I don't know whether someone else on here mentioned this or if I've
mentioned it here before, but there's an excellent 30th anniversary

That's the version in my mp3 collection (love the Nixon bit)
apparently there are other anniversary versions too.
