First call is the UKDiving server at http://www.ukdiving.co.uk for coastal
or inland sites..
Inland sites are a tad limited with Dotty still full of builders, but the
new kit and air shop at Vivian quarry's ideal for the wonders of the Menai -
IHMO the best drift dive in the UK. The West coast (Barmouth, Harlech,
Llelyn peninsula) have some lovely coast dives and vis can be almost
reasonable in the summer. Scare the kids on the beach by just walking into
the water and never coming out...

The nearest reliable fill station and dive shop is the new Vivian shop at
Llanberis, approx 45 miles from Barmouth. There was a fill station at
Barmouth for a while - but news on that has been lacking lately. The website
listing 'hidden' air fill sites is currently not very well, it WAS at
http://members.xoom.com/DiveUK but it's broken. If I get news on any nearer
stations I'll post.

Sorry it's taken a while to pick this up - I've not been online for a while.
If you would like some help with planning, especially with respect to sites
and tides around Anglesey then please call us. The diving around Anglesey
is varied there is usually something to suit everyone: deep wrecks (north
coast), shallow wrecks, scenic reefs and pinnacles (Holyhead & Trearddur
Bay), and numerous sheltered coves and beaches.
The main problem with Anglesey is the tides. Lost diver incidents are
relatively common compared to other areas of the UK. Our local knowledge is
better than most so we are happy to help if we can. We have plenty of sites
which are not affected by strong currents and certainly ones that are - it's
just a case of being pointed in the right direction.
We take divers out from our centre (RIB and Hardboat) on a regular basis so
you can either dive with us or use us as a base from which to do your own
thing.
I hope this helps.

The brigade BA's are designed for monobaric use, I'm not sure that they are
filterred to the same degree as scuba compressors. Can somebody with the actual
knowledge clarify this?

I am a fireman, not in NWales. I used to fill my cylinders at work until
we went to 300Bar, and had no problems. Most Brigades have a method for
payment for filling non brigade cylinders BUT, if my brigade is anything
to go by it is VERY expensive.
