Anybody willing to lend me a list of "humourous" horse names for a race
card for a race night ... trying to be as cheap as possible, and don't
have a template anymore ...

Any help appreciated.

Tony,

Thinking of running such an activity for my Group so would be interested in
the responses too. Also, where do you get the films/DVDs from ?

As I understand it, you can't advertise the event purely as a race night -
Hot Pot Supper and Race would be OK ?

Regards
Dave

Dundee donkey
Mochan Flier
AsLongAsWeBeatTheEnglishHorse
MightyTwentieth
Something In The Ayr

Is that the sort of thing you wanted?

Do you literally need a fairly random list of funny but clean names?
If so,
I think I know a bunch of internet wastrels that'll help.

YiS,

Ian
Don't reply by email, I probably won't read it for days.

Well, we sometimes include the jockey/owner as well ...

So ...

Monsters Inc - Frank N Stein
Incontinent - P. Ing
Always Lost - N A Scout

etc...

Some can get decidedly close to the bone ...

But that's the lot that I can think of off the top of my head.

We're borrowing from a neighbouring group who run them regularly ... Just
paid for our own Tote Tickets ... but you can hire or buy the DVDs if you
want.

Yeah ...

http://www.racenight.me.uk/

... and lots of other sites have info to help.

I will forward the stuff I used, once I've finished compiling it ...

Hoof Hearted is the only name I have offhand. if i can find a previous
programme. I'll send you it

As far as I Know there are no estrictions on what you call your night.
All ours have always been advertised as Race NIghts.

You also get a better atmosphere using horses on wheels and people
winding the string in as jockeys.
People can then see they have a chance of winning instead of a pre
decided video.

When we've run similar evenings in the past we have asked the owners to name
their own horses - saves a lot of thinking.

We did too, and charged for the privilege, ended up with things like:
Duracell Bunny
Little Snookums
etc.

Made the event more fun, also had an auction race, where everyone could bid
on a horse to name on the night.

Further to that, we made £675.35 (ish) last night, off 50 people and some
race sponsors.

Well worth while.

If anybody wants what we used, just ask.

It was 13 when i posted this but had to reduce drastically when it

Tony,

Many thanks - files received.

Sorry to be a pest, however, but I don't have MS publisher and two of the
files are .pub extensions (Race Card and Race Poster). Don't suppose there
is any chance you could send them as word or PDFs ?

Regards
Dave
