Can anyone recommend any campsites (preferably "greenfield") in the
Yorkshire Dales or the North Yorks Moors areas ?

Thanks in anticipation

Try Ilkely Moor. Please supply own hat. Ducks a plenty with
worms. Y.I.S

I would recommend Hasty Bank Camp Site, a few miles north of Helmsley
on the North York Moors. It is a Group camp site and so it doesn't
appear in the directory.

A natural site, but with fire bases (important in dry weather).

A fire hut. There are some chemical loos, but these are usually locked.

It is about a mile off the road along a track.

Not heavily used, because of the absence of loos, showers, etc.

Contact is Peter Willison on 01653 693576.
