IMPORTANT: Product Recall

At the London boatshow, I purchased the new silva S15 DSC reciever. This
unit not only works as a VHF DSC, but also displays NAVTEX messages if you
have an appropiate navtex engine atached. When I commisioned the unit with
Navtex, I noticed that when the unit was switched off, it did not retain any
settings, i.e. messages already recieved and station/message set-up. I
contacted Silva to ask about this minor problem and was told that they were
suprised that my dealer had not been in touch.

I was of course not suprised the dealer had not been in touch as when I
purchased the unit from Marine SuperStore at the London boat show, they took
payment from my debit card, but did not record my contact details.......

If any members of this group have also bought the S15, I would urge you to
make a note of the serial number on the back of the unit, then get in touch
with your dealer to see if your unit is one of those in the batch which has
been recalled.

Call or email. Contact details from www.silva.se. Please let them know the
serial number and where it was purchased.

They plan to send out a replacement, but they are not ready to ship.
