Prerequisites
Before you start, you will need the following:
A Windows 10 computer with at least 8 GB of RAM and 200 GB of free disk space.
VMware Workstation 16 or later installed on your computer.
The installation files for SAP ECC V6.0 SR3 IDES Oracle 10.2.0.2 64 Bit, which you can download from here.
A valid SAP license key, which you can request from here.
Step 1: Create a Virtual Machine
The first step is to create a virtual machine that will host the SAP system.
Open VMware Workstation and click on File > New Virtual Machine.
Select Custom (advanced) and click Next.
Select Workstation 16.x and click Next.
Select I will install the operating system later and click Next.
Select Linux as the guest operating system and Oracle Linux 64-bit as the version. Click Next.
Enter a name and location for the virtual machine. For example, SAP ECC V6.0 SR3 IDES Oracle 10.2.0.2 64 Bit VM. Click Next.
Specify the number of processors and cores per processor for the virtual machine. We recommend using at least 4 processors and 1 core per processor. Click Next.
Specify the amount of memory for the virtual machine. We recommend using at least 8 GB of RAM. Click Next.
Select Use network address translation (NAT) as the network type and click Next.
Select Use an existing virtual disk and click Next.
Browse to the location where you downloaded the installation files for SAP ECC V6.0 SR3 IDES Oracle 10.2.0.2 64 Bit and select the file with the extension .vmdk (for example, SAP ECC V6_0_SR3_IDES_Oracle_10_2_0_2_64_Bit.vmdk). Click Next.
Click Finish to create the virtual machine.
Step 2: Configure the Virtual Machine
The next step is to configure some settings for the virtual machine.
Select the virtual machine in VMware Workstation and click on Edit virtual machine settings.
Click on Options and select General under Advanced.
Change the guest operating system to Other Linux Kernel 4.x or later kernel 64-bit and click OK.
Click on Hardware and select CD/DVD (IDE).
Select Use ISO image file and browse to the location where you downloaded the installation files for SAP ECC V6.0 SR3 IDES Oracle 10.2.0.2 64 Bit and select the file with the extension .iso (for example, SAP ECC V6_0_SR3_IDES_Oracle_10_2_0_2_64_Bit.iso). Click OK.
Step 3: Start the Virtual Machine
The final step is to start the virtual machine and complete the installation process.
Select the virtual machine in VMware Workstation and click on Power on this virtual machine.
Wait for the virtual machine to boot up and display a welcome screen with a list of options.
Select Install SAP
