Hi all,

Are there any good online suppliers for yacht spares and supplies?
My dad's just bought his first yacht (sailing newbie) and requires a few
accessories before he starts seriously sailing.

Thanks all

Elliot

Hi Elliot,

You could try www.sea-me.co.uk

They sell active radar enhancers. That makes the yacht much more visible to
other boats.

http://www.on-line-marine.com/onlinemarine/default.asp

http://www.mailspeedmarine.com/mailspeed/

http://www.mesltd.co.uk/

These should do to start. Try a web search for chandlers.

Quick service and immediately responded with an apology for the one item I
ordered which they couldn't supply immediately.

The 'quickie Mart' of sailing is (IMHO) http://www.compass24.com/

For me - THE people to buy charts / books etc are http://www.seachest.co.uk/
but then I live in the SW - but they ARE very helpful (I have no relation to
them).

Oh yes .. and if you want industrial strength computer thingies ask for Guy
Fawkes on this news group.

Get your Old Man to visit some of the boat jumbles - a great source of
useful crap (handy if you never use it) try visiting....
(bugger.. I've forgotten the link ... anyone got the link for boatjumbles
dot wotsits?)

Happy crewing Elliot - A tot of rum all round!

Chris
