A very good question. Perhaps an email to Boating Business at
in...@marineinternet.com might produce an answer.

IIRC you have it the wrong way round. SL bought out Lewmar, Whitlock and
other companies and then SL went belly up. I think XM bought out what was
left of SL and hear spares are still available for most products. Our local
chandlery (Tradewinds at Conwy) say they can source them and I guess most
others can.

I last contacted Lewmar just after last year's boat show about a new
gipsy for my anchor winch. The fax that came from them was headed
Lewmar Scotland and their number was 0141 304 8001.

Hope this helps.

You do seem to have it a bit backward.
Simpson Lawrence was (until 2000) owned by an engernering conpany called
Clyde Marine PLC. They owend Whitlock Stearing, Simpson Lawrence and since
late 1999 Lewmar amongst other companys. One of the other companys made the
simpson lawrence hardwear and it was sold under that brand name. In 2000
Sowester baught Simpson Lawrence the distribution and continued to suply the
other companys through the Simpson Network. In Late 2001 Sowester Simpson
Lawrence went bankrupt. Clyde Marine PLC Still owning Simpson Engeniring,
Lewmar and Whitlock dicided to market them all under the Lewmar Brand (a
strong and internationaly knowen name).
The parts you want should be availabul from Lewmar, They are currently being
supplyed to the uk through Bainbridge Internatonal Try them at
