Hello -  I'm not sure if I'm totally accurate with this.  Probably someone will quote me if I'm wrong.

There is no difference in performance in the  Avanti Sigma 4 and the Tagra BT104.both are essentially the same antenna performance wise. with the same receive capabilities and db gain. However, the  Tagra is a copy of the sigma, released a few years later I think.  Tagra improved  the build quality of the antenna,  making it out of better quality aluminium, putting better connectors on it and painting it gold for some reason.

Both antenna are extremely hard to obtain. because of their respective ages and also because most people like myself who are lucky enough to have one hang on to them.   The Tagra probably even harder to obtain  than the Avanti.   I have the manual still for my Sigma4. this shows all the dimensions . You are welcome to a copy of it. However, you may have trouble building  the gamma match.

There is also the Sirio Vector 4000 at;

http://www.sirioantenne.it/1-01-013.htm

Again, probably the same performance

Are you able to scan it and post a copy somewhere Sigma? I'd like to
see one as I never got one with mine. Agreed on the gamma match, mine
has rotted (!) inside the plastic tube so is pretty useless, I will
have to work out how to make another though.

The Sirio Vector 4000 is an OK antenna, looks like a sigma and Sirio will
lead you to believe that it has the same DB gain than the sigma. In reality
this is not true. I have friends who have had this antenna who say it is
not a patch on the Sigma in receive and transmit mode. It's also made of
crappy aluminium (like most Sirio stuff) so the it will not standing for
very long..

A better Italian make is funnily enough called " sigma " they make their
antennas out of better aluminium. However, most people have not heard of
them here in the UK.

No problems about scanning the book. I will do so in the week sometime, if
it's not too big I'll post it on here for you all to see. The gamma match
will be a problem though. However, where there is a will there is a way..

I have both.

Tagra bought the rights to the Avanti sigma 4 along time ago when Avanti went bust.

Tagra a spanish company who have also gone bust copied the sigma 4 in every way only that they made some better design features to it with added stregth to the basket and mounting postion. They also anodized it gold for better weather resistance.

Performance is the same on both antenna's although the Tagra has an ajustable top section as opposed to Avantis adjustable gamma section. However both should be set to factory postions for best results.

Sorry neither antenna is for sell. Im an antenna collector.

regards
