We are thinking of going to one or the other late May. The sea will be too
cold!
So we are wondering.....
Which has the better heated pool? Which has the nicer non-concrete feel to
it? Which has the better quality accommodation? Which has the better/better
value restaurants?
Any advice would be appreciated.
thanks
Mike

We have only ever stayed at CHM on the basis that it is within easy walking
distance of the seaside town, giving us access to a wider range of
restaurants and shops without driving.
I have briefly visited Euronat, however, and my subjective impression is
that it is the slightly higher class of the two locations.

I hope this helps.

We haven`t been to Montalivet so can`t comment. Stayed at Euronat for
a couple of days & found the place a tad small, so if you like a good
ramble, probably not the place. Oth, it has a nice heated pool. Not
impressed with the food either, chicken was `done to death`. Self
catered after that! Serignan Plage is my favourite, good food,
entertainment if you want it, & a fabulous beach just a short walk
away. Hamish

euronat comprises 350 hectares I think so a little larger than say, costa
natura, very playa and pretty much everywhere! "A tad small" ????????/
i liked serignan plage too, but the pool is closed for textiles (ie closed
to nudists) in the afternoons.
thanks for comments, keep'em coming!

Had you considered La Jeny, a little south of Montelivet & Euronat, and a
little smaller, but lovely - especially if you like Golf, as they have their
own course - naturist of course.

I must be confusing Euronat with somewhere else. The place i`m
thinking of took about 3 minutes to drive round ( we missed our mobile
home on the first pass & had to go round again:-} I think Le
Colombier is not too far away ( another excellent site ) I guess
the old memory aint what it used to be :-{ Enjoy wherever you
choose. Hamish

references to that place (maybe closed) Memory cells deteriorating
rapidly these days:-{ Hamish

Yes, Euronat is the largest naturist site in Europe. Montalivet is
smaller, but has more people, so it's much more crowded. Euronat is a
little more expensive. Breakfast will set you back 11 euros or so, but
if you want to save a euro or two you can always trek 2km up the beach
to Montalivet.

The CHM in Montalivet is older and much less sophisticated. The
infrastructure is much less developed, and needs a lick of paint, to
be honest.

The CHM has no indoor pool, which is a major drawback. Euronat has two
indoor pools and three outdoor pools, all surrounded by a lovely
sunbathing area. Both sites are in the middle of pine forests, and so
feel very natural.

To be honest Euronat has much more to offer than CHM Montalivet. The
place is much nicer. The only disadvantage is the location. It's a
good half hour stroll along the beach towards from Euronat to
Montalivet town centre, and then another 20 minutes to get to the
local Aldi. It's not an unpleasant experience though, especially since
you can do most of that trip naked. The market in montalivet is worth
one visit, but not much more than that.

Another thing to consider is that the CHM has just been bought by a
textile group. I think the jury is still out as to whether or not this
is a good thing.

Both places gently discourage single males, but I'm sure it won't be a
problem for you. There seem to be more Britons in Euronat than the
CHM, but maybe that's just my perception. I didn't see many houses in
Euronat with British cars outside of them, but probably British people
get the train and then rent a car from Bordeaux. It's qucker and
easier than driving the whole way. Germans seem to be everywhere, but
I think the reason that is fiscal, not cultural.

La Jenny looks pretty nice too so we will go there for a day on a cross-pass
system the three centres provide.

They don't allow camping and there are no local shops. It's more
expensive and you have to get dressed before you go to the beach
because there's a textile path intersecting the route to the beach.
Also the beach always seems to me to be more textile than Euronat. But
definatly worth a day visit. It's a couple of hours drive from
Euronat. I've not heard of this cross-pass system though. Where did
you find out about that?

There is a sign on leaving La Jenny to walk to the beach which says to
cover up till you get to the beach, but when we were there a few
years back nobody took any notice. Might be different now, My
opinion of La Jenny? Too many bloody trees shading the accomodation.
If i want shade i`ll sit under a brolly. Hamish

When we were there about 3 years ago, almost no one 'covered up' on the way
to the beach, despite the signs, an no one seemed to care - there were very
few textiles around anyway.
