Bianca is an 18 year old who, like many of her age, is about to go to
university. Unlike most, however, she grew up in a nudist club.
She was a naturist herself until the age of 12, when her self-
consciousness, a negative image of her own body, and a lack of other
teenagers interested in nudism, led her to cover up. She's been what
other naturists call a 'textile' ever since.
But recently, she discovered, via the internet, that there is a new
generation of teenage nudists. As well as looking into the motivation
of nudists, Bianca investigates whether the whole movement is as
universally innocent and non-sexual as practitioners claim.
From meeting closet nudists who only take their clothes off alone, and
witnessing a naked bike ride through central London, to an
extraordinary and liberating nudist camp in America, this is Bianca's
open, honest, affectionate and sometimes critical look at what it is
to be a naturist.

Some commenters seem to be missing the point, especially concerning
voyeurism and genitalia. For example, conversing with a naturist is
face to face, just like with a non-naturist, so looking at genitals is
not an issue. Concerning voyeurism, in any city centre in any country
of the world you will find clothed men and women furtively taking
quick looks at each other to guage sexual attractiveness and wondering
if the body beneath is as appealing as it looks with the clothes being
worn. That question is no longer relevant in a naturist environment
because there are no clothes to hide any imperfections, and if anyone
does stare they do not have the necessary clothing to cover up their
body language or physical reactions of arousal, which makes it so much
easier to determine who is a voyeur and who is not. The lad who
stripped off for the first time on Brighton Black Rock is certainly
not alone in having that experience, and that scene faithfully shows
what it can be like to go public for the first time, yes it was
awkward, how could it not be, not knowing how others would react nude
or not, I've been there, done it, and discarded the T-Shirt (and the
shorts). In conclusion, this was a very balanced view of naturism from
a good cross section of people, like any lifestyle there are good and
bad parts and has a lot to teach the average person about themselves
and the society they live in. It is up to them to make up their own
minds about whether they can take the bad with the good, or just go
back to Heat magazine and buy into the sadomasochistic cycle of
narcissists having money made out of their real or imagined torments
of body which infects so many. Metalmatt.

There's an undercurrent of weirdness throughout this whole movie.
The last clip is of some weirdo who lives in a caravan in the middle
of nowhere shaving his pubic hair off. There's some poor kid who they
wheel out for his 'first time' on a nude beach, who sits there on the
sand in his baggy white underpants, in perhaps the most awkward
silence ever to make its way onto the TV screen, before finally taking
the plunge to end the suffering. That's just one of the many
directorial-techniques which add a sense of the grotesque to eliminate
the sense of enjoyment the viewer would otherwise feel when nudisms
most enjoyable aspects would've been portrayed if they hadn't
dubiously edited the whole movie with god-knows-what intention. If you
can see past all of that dubious editing, clearly there's a girl who's
genuinely exploring her own feelings with regards to nudism and
encountering some likewise genuine nudists too. To the casual observer
though, 'Diary of a Teenage Nudist', despite its attractive sounding
title, is more likely to turn people in the opposite direction and at
a running pace.

I think naturism is totally ridiculous. Before we had clothes we
had fur to keep us warm.I would like to see u so called naturists
marched up Ben Nevis on a lovely winters morning. Like it or not the
human reproductive organs are ugly as hell and best covered up!

need to use this type of post to reflect on who they are and once more
determine if nudism is sexual in content to sooo many people and it is
not worth trying to keep preaching non sexual nudity and enjoy the

gain the respect of the the 99.9 percent that will dabble with you
occassionally......any behavioral idealogy would be considered a cult
if it is so controversial that so many folks will not accept and that
is where nudism has always found itself....and to alienate oneself
unto such a false belief system naturally tells the world that you are
of a different species or strain of human kind.......with unrelenting
indifference.....this is not good for the emotional system and a

I wouldn't say negative, more in a realistic and neutral manner. There are
some questionable characters in it such as the guy at the London WNBR who is
filming Bianca and challenging her to get her kit off in public if she's a
naturist. He comes across as being a rather smug and fey individual. The
other is a young 27-year-old car mechanic who (unlike the others) refused to
let his name be used in the doco. He is seen shaving off his pubic hair and
says being circumcised and depilated is more hygenic, and also guys can't
really do much to control their erections and nobody minds if you crack one
at a nudist camp. Sounds like he's living in fairyland, and Bianca thinks
his attitude is appalling.
Aside from that the rest of the people in the video are quite nice and
likeable types whom you'd probably would want to ask round for coffee at
your place.
I will be putting my copy up tonight onto fileden, so yourself, Richard, and
anybody else who's interested can get it.

But it only takes one or two such people at a camp to ruin it for
everyone else. It is the few that ruins it for the many.
That's what I mean when I say perhaps nudism can only work in a
perfect world.
