As an American, I had a wonderful time in Wales. Just two things. I asked for help once and some gent shouted at me "No, I don't want to help"

Than in a bar, I wanted to drink at the counter. The Bar keep seemed pissed asked me to sit at the table.

So, did I do anything wrong?

Thanks

Yes. You did three things wrong, two of which you mention and the other
is implied.

You mention you had a wonderful time 'as an American'. Would it have
been less good if you had visited as something else?

Meanwhile, there is no 'counter' in a bar. It is a bar, which is why
it's called a bar. Additionally, there is no bar keep (or bar tender),
there is a bar man or a bar maid (or in general, bar staff). I doubt the
bar person was pissed as that means they were inebriated. Perhaps you
meant annoyed rather than drunk.
