Got to agree. The batteries don't go flat, they don't break if you
sit on them, if you lose them it's only a few quid to replace, you can
give them away to friends when you're done with them, you can borrow
them from libraries, can use them to build your own library, you can
use them as a disguise or shield if you want to appear busy, and best
of all, you can throw them at other people's heads when they piss you
off.

You read ebooks while driving?

You might as well go the whole hog and chat on your phone while you're
at it.

As far as I'm aware, only the kindle offers text to speech anyhow, so
ebooks are of limited use in the car too.

Plus, who ever drove fast to a book?

The supplier can't remove them from you at their convenience.

:-)

No, I listen audiobooks, not quite the same as e-books I know, but still
easily downloadable.

Why? I bought one, cos it was effectively free for the points that I got
when I bought my reader. While it seemed unnecessarily complex, it
wasn't exactly impossible.

Actually ebay, or a couple of other sites seem to come up with better
meta data on books FWIW.

If anyone wants a pretty substantial amount of correctly tagged stuff
(>300 books) let me know.
