Ok its nearly that time of the year again.
End of Summer Meet- Sat 8th Sept.

here:
http://www.pub-explorer.com/olpg/the-black-horse-inn/hullandward/index.htm

for those that haven't been before then it usually follows this:

-let me know you are turning up by E Mailing me at o...@ukrm.co.uk this
is so I can let Mu know numbers for food (see below)

- turn up from lunchtime onwards on the Saturday

- put up tent in garden

- get pissed/talk bollocks

- Mu puts on a huge buffet for us, including a selection of gateaux

- Sunday morning Mu lays on breakfast for us (let me know if you are
stopping for this as well)

- for those recovered from the previous night, a CIHAGM occurs

- everyone wonders off at some point

- for those still around at lunchtime, Mu does cracking roast lunches,
but you will have to book a table separately with her.

Hope to see you all there.

Ever seen drunken people before?

You won't miss much. It's pretty lame these days. TBH it was probably
pretty lame before, but we were all too drunk to notice :)

BTW, email me with the Ring details again would you? I've just realised
it falls at the end of my contract end week ... are you doing it by car
or bike?

Will do, car for the DTM weekend, just because 1 - am bikeless at the mo
[1], and 2 - am planning a bit of a Euro tour after the DTM. Ferry booked
back for the 8th - late.

Still in two minds whether to do the sensible Northern Europe tour, or say
feckit; and head South over the Italian passos and spend a few days on the
Cote D Azur.

[1] - not counting a garage of bits that could probably assembled into
something resembling an MOT pass.

AH yes I recall now ... let's take it to email, but say someone were to
offer you a bash on their bike ... would you be happy to carry their
luggage over?

Assuming there's some Ring track time to be had over that weekend or the
week following?

You pointedly miss the Sunday Carvery, which I like lots. Also the
CIHAGM on bikes one would normally never ride (I'm thinking Voxan,
XT660...). A few nice people always turn up, someone new always pops
along and I like Mandy, Mu and the little helpers.

There, have I achieved any balance yet ;o)

That and I don't actually need any excuse to go spending weekends there.

If DNC wants to bring the drugs and Dodger some illicit booze I might
pitch a very large tent on The Point.

It's a particularly good roast dinner and I only eat that much twice in

I can remember once coming down all the way from Tyneside on the
Sunday morning (busy Saturday) just to test ride a couple of bikes I
knew would be there.

<proud>

When I was growing up, the three meals were breakfast, dinner and tea.

As my social mobility allowed me to ascend, I learnt to say breakfast,
lunch and dinner.

Then I met a class of people who called the evening meal "supper".

At this point I rebelled and said fuck it, supper is a cheese sandwich
before you go to bed, and went back to the names I grew up with.

The gay way is far more efficient. "Hello, you're not too unfortunate
looking, fancy a quick fuck?" Saves paying for dinner too, unless one
is looking for a reasonable length relationship.

heh. I love that old Lee Evans joke:

"Have you ever paid for sex?"

"Only emotionally".

Except, IIRC, it's actually a Woody Allen joke, from *years* earlier.

Women? Two (or more) at a time? You want to be careful, at your age.

Or were you distracted by memories of:

"How much for the little girl? How much for the women?" ...
"Your women. I want to buy your women. The little girl, your
daughters... sell them to me. Sell me your children."?

I concur about supper, but it's breakfast, lunch and dinner, with the
sole exception of a Sunday roast which can be lunch at lunchtime or
dinner anytime.

Tbh, if I have a roast for lunch, I'm unlikely to have room for dinner
anyway.

Cool. What fiendish new ways have you devised to destroy otherwise
perfectly serviceable machines in the interim?

I moved 50 miles further away from work. Seems to be working so far, I
just had a nicely expensive repair on my K1100LT.

I realise just how fucking far away from work you live now. That's a bitch
of a commute. Thanks for the offer of accom. BTW just couldn't make it that
far. The M1 roadworks near the M25 leave no room for a bike to filter <glum>

Judging by the scrapes on both panniers it was indeed all a bit narrow.
