... can I just say that I had a letter in the post today saying
that everything's fine.

After a 2 month somewhat worrying wait there was a heartfelt
"thank fuck for that" from me.

That'll be me speechless in the best possible way, that will. I'm so
pleased for you Windy. Made up, as it were. That'll be a couple of bottles

You delight me, Windy. Let's hope this is the start of an outbreak of good

Bugger. Double bugger, in fact. The art of cut 'n' paste obviously still
eludes me, then. Obviously. I was distracted, OK? Bugger.

Good news indeed!
Went to the quacks today to hear the results of a scan I`ve just had on my
right leg.
It`s been agony for the past couple of months and a lump has appeared.:-(
History is this is the leg that was smashed in `89 and plated/pinned.
Plates/pins were removed in `92 but funny things can happen to old fractures
and I was worried.
It happens that a callous formed over one of the *screw holes* and is
rubbing on the tendon.
Phew! Not being funny but I was thinking of ways to adapt my bike to make it
rideable with one leg!
As I said good news, worries the f*ck out of you tho!.

Well, yes it was a bit but now I can see the funny side.

Ah well, what the hell ...

For various reasons, things had been a bit shitty in recent
months and then, closely following on from the demise of my dear
old dog and one of the cats, I found a small but hard lump at the
side of one of my boobs.

"Feck!" said I and after a fair bit of umm-ing, told myself not
to be such a wuss and went to see the doc. She did some umm-ing
too and so it was that I found myself a week later enjoying the
previously unknown pleasures of a mammogram and a squeeze or two
from the specialist.

I was told that the results would be back within 3 weeks. So I
waited.

Within 10 days for whatever reason, I went to pieces and found
myself at the doc's again but this time being given mild
anti-depressants. Woohoo! I've got depression! It might only be
"mild" but it's my first time in 51 years. What fun!

Then halfway through the third week, I get a phone call at work
telling me I need to go back for another mammogram 'cos the tests
aren't conclusive but not to panic.

HAH! Oh HAH! HAH! HAH! Me? Panic?

10 days pass and I'm back at the Tit Squeezing Centre. I have
another test and get told that it'll be another 2 or 3 weeks
before the results.

I see the specialist again and we chat and during the chat he
asks me if I can remember being hit where the lump is.

No, I can't.

"It could be any time in the last 12 months or so," he says. "Are
you sure you don't remember hurting yourself there? Because I
think we're looking at scar tissue, not a lump."

I think.

Then I remember ... a few months ago ... doing my annual SAS
crawl across the garage roof to clean a blocked gutter in the
pouring rain.

Foot waving about between garage and shed trying to find the rung
of the ladder so I can descend.

Foot finds rung.

Foot slips.

For what seems like minutes but was probably no more than a few
seconds, I am suspended from the corner of the shed roof by my
left tit. Hoist on my own petard or summat.

I remember quite clearly now that that had hurt quite a lot at
the time.

After the specialist had stopped his uncontrollable chuckling, he
said that he was 90% certain that this was the cause of my lump.

And so it has proved to be. :o)

And another month and I can start coming off these
anti-depressant things. :o)

I'm just a tad pissed off with the doc's words to me of, "You're
not Superwoman, you know? You are allowed to ask for help"
because I don't know what the hell I'm going to do with this blue
leotard and the red cape and boots ...

I'm glad you've cleared up that little mystery and that you're OK.

Dangling on a tit is not recommended at your age. It's safer to use
both.

Still, at least the investigation gave you a chance to flash your
